  1. Hey Biggins, you penis! I've sent this link to a mate of mine. He wanted an IVA-D300, but since yours is going cheap I sent him a link to this thread. Hopefully he contacts you
  2. If you're doing a novated lease, sacrificing the payments out of the segment of your income that's in the top tax bracket, and are doing 25000km a year, you're more than marginally better off, I can tell you. I'm about to enter my third 3 year/25000km a year novated lease and it's worked. It's a lifestyle decision though... and the 7 year rule isn't hard and fast either - a colleague is currently leasing an early R33 GTS-t with no hassles. I've not had to dispose of cars mid lease mind you, and that could get difficult if your residual is high (50%) and the car is worth less than the payout figure. If you're not sacrificing out of the top tax bracket and you're not doing at least 20000km a year, then forget it - buy the car "conventionally"
  3. I want the DVD player prank your mum said you should sell it to me fo cheeper
  4. /me coughs - tell the truth now But seriously, I honestly think you'd regret swapping your car for a Skyline - I've had enough experience with GT-R's to at least comment on the subject
  5. I know people who are under 25 and haven't even got 60% NCB that are insuring R33 GT-R's with Famous for less than that... I wouldn't think being a V-Spec or otherwise would make a huge difference to the premium would it?
  6. not at all... However I do have trouble grasping the fact that everyone is insuring their pride and joy with a company that has premiums bordering on the "too good to be true" side of things, yet nobody actually has much evidence of how good Famous are when it comes to the crunch... I'm as desparate for cheap insurance premiums as the next guy - just putting in my 2c worth and watching this space!
  7. so the person who starts this thread, and reassures everyone who expresses feelings of suspicion toward Famous, comes out and says this... this is the question I've been asking since last year... and to no avail (except for one reference earlier in this thread) sorry guys, I'm not convinced myself
  8. the links are broken, but if you read the whole thread you'd know the number plates of the silvia concerned and what colour it is...
  9. that'd be mike I hope it all gets sorted for you Dave, it sux that you had to wait for so long and then the car gets trashed
  10. maybe you should think about why it is that drivers of HPI's get targeted all the time?
  11. guys, you drive skylines - unfortunately it goes with the territory I know it sux, but thats the way it is. Case in point - taking photographs at Homebush Sunday night, and a divvy van drives in with two cops in it. You can bet your ass that if the cars being photographed were a bunch of skylines or other HPI's the shit would have hit the fan. The cops looked and saw an Audi A3, Cooper S, Golf GTI, and TT Roadster. They just engaged reverse and drove straight back out. We were there for over an hour - even the local security guys drove in and out and didn't say anything... and people wonder why I drive what I do...
  12. well, technically, yeah but you'd have to ask your mum
  13. I can highly recommend Leaseplan. I can highly recommend against Orix. I am about to find out how good MacMillan-Shakespeare are... If you work for a large company they may already have an agreement with a preferred fleet company... There are age restrictions on the cars you can lease with the bigger lease/fleet companies though. Novated Leasing rocks if you set it up correctly, and drive enough km to get the FBT down Any questions, let me know, I'm about to enter my second one
