  1. then they should know that a JZX100 is single turbo ;-) on a side not the manuals are significantly more expensive for a reason, with a decent tranny cooler on the auto u mite be able 2 get around 350-370rwhp or so before maybe running into problems, whereas the 5 speed box is happy to go to insane levels many people on toymods have cars running these boxes with cars that are makin 400rwkw+ :werd:
  2. jake32 i hope ya didnt paste a whole bunch of jzx90 prices seing as it said twin-turbo which as the 100's are single turbo doesnt seem like them, or a company that doesnt know the difference betweent he two =| here are some stats for ya, all prices are USD and purchase price only in japan, so convert to AUD and then add $10k to work out the on road price, approximately of course.   3. Just something to wet your apetite. I know of your Altezza, nice ride, but i hopefully will be getting my JZX100 Chaser by the end of the year. As michael and some of the guys said earlier, performance wise they are pretty much on par, looks, i much prefer the jzx100, cleaner smoother lines, r34 4 doors are much to boxy for me. Interior is really just a personal taste, but i like the carbon fibre trim the JZX100 has stock, and defi style cluster. For mods i mean heaps of parts available for both engines, 1JZ's have been proven to be a bit stronger than the RB25's in general and the manual 5 speed that comes with the 100's is abo****ely bullet proof (once you change the thrust washer in the 1st gear with a decent strength item) and is good for a hell of a lot more power than the r34 5 speed. Id say take them both for a drive, see which one you like the feel of better and go for that because they really are so similar for working on, just need to choose what tickles your fancy. Insurance should be marginally cheaper for a JZX100 as well, plus less attention from the police orrificers while it remains stock. 1JZ 4 lyfe :werd: Good luck!
  4. JZX90's are an awesome car, but JZX100's are a step up again and they have come down A LOT in price so are worth it. Interior in the 100 is much newer and has genuine carbon fibre trim standard :aroused: plus it looks much nicer. As dojobi said, 1 less turbo, VVTi (exhaust), better suspension set-up and looks a shite load hotter! Cant wait for mine! DRIFTT which company did you buy your car through in japan? Just need to start looking into finding an auction website that is decent who i can buy the car through in japan. Will be good to see another 100 on the Perth roads so let us know when you get it, less than 10 JZX100's road registered in W.A. right now, which is good, keeps them rare :headspin:

  6. Seing no-one has helped so far i'll be happy to lend a hand. The car pictured is a JZX90 Mark II built from 1993-1996. You CAN import and comply these however there are only 2 compliance plate holders for JZX series cars in Australia that i am aware of. A place in Brisbane and Auto wholesale in W.A. Compliance right now is a total joke on these cars but they are seriously awesome, best 4 door sedan in their price range and even better than most twice, 3 times+ their price. Yeah i am faced with exactly the same decision, im pretty keen on the 5 speed manual JZX100 because it came with the R154 box and from what i can gather it is apparently good for 500rwhp which is apparently why the attract such a high price figure. Have you got any quote's on how much it will cost you landed and complied for the auto? Ive been scanning past jap auctions and from what i can gather the average price for an auto seems to be around 750000-900000 yen, FOB, so thatd be around $20-$23000 landed and complied. The manuals still seem to be fetching around $26-$28000 landed and complied. All around grade 4 from auctions and allowing around $10000 for freight, compliance and new tyre's. 1JZ-GTE VVTi with a CT26, oh baby, im pretty set on the 100, hopefully they'll continue to stay reasonably rare and unique, i dont want a great car like this to become common street wear if you know what i mean, part of the challenge of finding a car that meets all the things i want from it. Anyways i'll keep everyone posted on when i get one and bring it in in the future, MIC33R if you could PM me any info you get or when you get your car if you could drop me a line, id have a few questions for you, cheers dude.   8. Hey everyone, ive been reading up some old topics with a few mentions to the chaser. Around mid next year i'll be buying 1 of these cars id just like to get as many opinions with the good points and bad points of each, i know an insane amount about the JZX100 Chaser, not much i dont know about it and im pretty clued up on the R34 GT-t but i may have missed something. So if youd like to say which one youd go for and why thatd be good so hopefully i can weigh up both cars before ultimately making my decision. Im leaning 2wards the JZX100 Chaser right now for a few reasons but i also like the R34's a lot as well. Just keep in mind we are comparing an R34 GT-t 5spd to a JZX100 Chaser 5spd. Thanks guys!
