  1. From a dealership, most are overpriced and definitely not worth the warranty it written on. 12 months to 2 years would be the most you could get out of product and it would have to be Ceramic or Urethane based.

  3. Hi guys, For anyone out there that is not running a cat.... hmmmm. During a SAU detailing day, we tested 7-10 different products and found that one in particular worked extreamly well. P21S Total Auto Wash. Spray on to the area, let it site for 30Sec and wipe with a Microfibre cloth, gone. For a wax there is a Japanese wax we have by Ion Coat called NAVI WAX. It is our best selling wax. There is a light and dark version. Very easy to use. Wet the supplied applicator sponge. Apply to a panel at a time Immediately wipe of the panel with a high quality microfibre. Continue around the car. If you notice any hazing or smearing, go over the car again with a wet microfibre cloth then buff dry lightly with a dry MF cloth. Amazing depth and gloss.
  4. Guys, I deal with and supply hundreds of detailer's throughout Australia through Waxit Car Care. If you need any recommendations I would be more than happy to assist.
  5. I deal with hundreds of Professional Detailers, some of whom I haved train, been asked advice from and developed systems and processes for. I can honestly tell you that there is no way a $250, 400 even 500 detail will match a $1000 highend professional detailer service, obviously there are some out to profiteer at this price point. These are some things to consider when looking for a detailer; Have they worked on your type of paint system, or vehicle in the past or familiar with the differences between certain paint types? Are they using higher end products or bulk finishing and compounding products? Are they going through a full decontamination process to remove any ingrained surface contaminants using specific treatments ie, iron remover, tar & organise fallout remover and claying, rather than just claying. Are they removing previous wax and polish residue and/or leaving residue in cars they complete? Are they using compound and finishing abrasive polishes that do not contain fillers or harsh solvents as your scratches and marring will reappear? Are Rubbers and plastic trim taped up and protected during the machine polishing process? Are they using glazes to fill and hide and holograms of trace marring from heavier compounding steps? Are they giving you a choice of recommended waxes or sealants based on questions they have asked you as to how you store your vehicle, how you wash it and frequency, how often you would see yourself reapply a protective wax or sealant Do they guaranty there work? Can they provide a refferal? As Ive mentioned before, some Professionals have to cover a lot of costs at a fixed location and price their work accordingly. Others, such as 'Semi Pro' detailers, who provide these services can sometimes be a better option. Why would a 'Weekend Professional' provide a better service than a full time professional. Passion, this cannot be bought or trained. These guys generally love detailing and strive for perfection. They will use boutique products designed for a specific application and research what is the best products to use on different cars and services. They spend alot of time researching and practising different techniques with many products to achieve the best result. They don't work to the clock. They may only do 1 car a weekend and will generally do more than they have quoted for and on a hourly rate basis are better value at the same or higher quality. If anyone is after any recommendations please let me know as you & your car will be treated with respect, and may even make some new friends. Most of all, call them, don't go by a web site alone weather it be good or bad. Ask them questions and the good ones will be more than happy to spend the time with you to discuss what they recommend for your vehicle based on your criteria.

  8. HI Guys, We run Waxit Car Care and are a sponsor of SAU. If anyone needs any advice on detailing, products or procedures, please let me know. Feel Free to visit www.waxit.com.au
  9. Detailing can be as intensive as you want it to be. Some just like to give the car a wash, have it nice a clean for when they take it for a drive. Other, like me, like detailing to forget about everything for a few hours and make something perfect. There is a lot of personal satisfaction into making something look good yourself. Its the transformation.
  10. JDM Performance, Your right about that. The product I recommended called Ceriglass does contain cerium oxide as well as nano abrasive acting as a lubricant.
  11. Hi , If your water marks are on the surface of the glass you can remove them using a product by CarPro called Ceriglass. This a Cerium Oxide based product mixed with a nano polish to allow it to work by machine or with the applicator in the kit. I have removed not only water marks but seriously deep windscreen wiper scratches on glass with this and a polisher. Definitely worth a try. Click Here for more info.
  12. iwanta34gtr, Hi mate, we are having a detailing workshop in Sydney on the 4th Feb. Why dont you come down and I can show you how it works before you buy one. Its only $30.00 to come along and to Book click here
  13. Jason, Sorry to let you down mate, but you really wont be able to perform any paint correct with that type of polisher. IF you are on a budget, get a Random Orbital Sander with a 150mm plate from bunnings. Although this will not have the power of the Concours 900w Random Orbital Polisher (@$229) we sell, you could get one or two pads for $20 each and a I step product for $30. IF you would like any advice let me know. Im guessing this will not be the only car you ever polish, and I hate to see you waste money on something that wont do the job for you.. IF the budget is really tight, find a few mates and go in together. Otherwise once they see your car you will have to do it.
  14. Hi, If you have a foam gun accessory for your high pressure washer, I would mix 1/4 car wash, half of that again with an all purpose pH neutral cleaner and rest water. Foam the car and let it dwell. This will soften the polish specs. High pressure rinse, then wash the car with normal car wash. If they are still there you can lightly clay or wipe the car down with a solvent like Prepsol. This should remove them and be alot quicker than going over the car again with a polisher.
