How Do I Tell The Difference Between A Rb25de And Rb25det

Recommended Posts

long motor means the motor it self. no turbo manifold or other bits.

im guessingt he engine number would have some lettering in it to indicate if its a det or de

yes on the turbo side at the back near where the bellhousing bolts on it will have RB25DET stamped on it.

also if the sump is off the turbo motor has oil squirters for the pistons.

and it will have the turbo oil drain threaded hole at the bottom centre of the block on the exhaust side

They all have the oil drain hole in them.

And I'm pretty sure they only say RB25, not RB25DET. I could be wrong on this though.

If it's a DE at the back of the engine on the exhaust side there will be block off bolts in the water gallery and oil gallery for the turbo. If it's a DET then these should be exposed.

No. It will only say RB25, not RB25DET.

Check for turbo oil and water supply outlets as stated.
