Diff Ratios

ive got an aussie delivered s14 and im rebuilding the diff ive heard that the diff ratios are like 3.692 or sumthing and thats a really really shit ratio i want to put an 4.1 or 4.3 in it

ive got a spare s13 diff there and the gear ratio labelled on that says 48:11

what is that is that 4.1 or something else im a bit unsure

You may want to do some more research. The 3.692 ratio, is found in the S15 with a 6 speed manual gearbox and not in the S14.

So I'd figure out exactly what you have in your S14, before you start panicking.

quick question is there a big difference in 4.1.1 in a r33 manual diff to a 4.3.1 as i have a kazaa 2-way diff to go in my car for the drags.

4.3 is better for the drags as long as u dont have to change into 5th before crossing the finish line

as DVS32R said aslong as you do not need 5th gy the finish line, but the shorter the ratio the better acceration you get but the more likely you are to wheel spin, i have the 4.11.1 in the gtr and on street tyres on low boost it will brake into 4wd wheel spin as it comes on boost in the first 2 gears and the 4.3 would only make that worse

4.3 ratio

shit traction

shit fuel economy

lower mph from 127 to 115

i would recommend for lower powered cars if you want a quicker accelerating car or for drift

im looking for 3.9 or 3.69

has anyone got any expirience with these gears

I could have told you that, oh wait I did :P

We went 3.9s from 4.11s in the BSM car and went faster 2 seconds around EC, they then went 3.55 from a 34 after I stopped going in and that is what was in it for world time attack

Personally with 350rwkws+ I would go the 3.69s, but then that depends how big your horsies are, I know 3.69s are easy to get for the R200 but finding them for the front diff is proving harder to do, I know there is a WRX that has that ratio but which exact model is what I am finding hard to nail down

I have 450+awkw so far and have a OS88 option 2 on its way which I will be putting in the 34 with the stock 3.545 diff ratios, with the standard box and 275/35/19 RS-3s it has traction issues 1st-2nd and most of 3rd lol, fun times :D

I think so, realy depends how much torque it makes though, have you got a dyno graph, the more torque you make the better the use you will get for longer diff gears

The biggest issue your going to have with 400kw and rear wheel drive is traction, so anything you can do to add in keeping it will make car faster
