Sau A.c.t. - What Did You Do To Your Car Today?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys.

I thought this might be a cool thread for us Canberrarians to have.

There's one of these in the NSW section that I keep hitting up but meh... you know...

Canberra aint NSW!!! sooooooooooo... HAVE AT IT !!!

What Did You Do To Your Car Today ???

I'll start us off with...

Pulled my New Bosch 044 fuel pump out (that I only put in last weekend) and re adjusted the mount to try to stop some of the stoopid noises it makes.

New N1 water pump, 100,000km service,

N1 water pump? i was gunna get one but the bloke at kudos said they dont cavitate at high rpm, but they dont flow much at low rpm

I hope you have a good temp gauge

Did you do it yourself? if so was it difficult?

Or where did you get it done? how much did they charge?

Over the last week

Fixed the boot so it's now flush with the rear qtr panels.

Changed the black bonnet back over for the blue one.

Cleaned up the engine bay a little. Painted some stuff black that looked out of place.

and I polished up the RB26 timing cover I bought off another member.

oh and cleaned it. Wash, Clay bar, wash and waxed it 3 times. OCD or what !!

Yes Kudos are correct N1 water pumps are only useful for cars that don't see a lot of traffic or have a very good cooling system. Luckily Canberra doesn't have lots of traffic and I have a very nice radiator plus the car rarely goes slow enougth for this to be an issue. On the other hand the car does sit at high RPM a lot of it's working life.

The standard temp guage works fine. Like any guage you need to look at it.

The installation requires the taking out of the radiator etc so a bit of work, cost me about 450 but I had a bit of other stuff done at the same time at Trojan.

The same thing I do to my car every day.

Nothing. Except maybe swear at it as I walk past it on the way to my van.

lol. Though I do have replacement headlights I need to polish up and fit, I have replacement driver's door window switches with plastic surround on the way that I'll need to paint when it arrives and then fit them, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND I need to start troubleshooting my misfire that's finally sticking around for good - starting with swapping the ignitor with another unit Richard has given me for troubleshooting purposes (hopefully it fits lol).
