R34 Rb25 Gearbox Will Not Go Into 3Rd On Fast Changes

Hey guys

Just a quick question.

I have an R34 with the RB25. The gearbox is perfect to drive around slowly with. There is 0 grinding and no notchiness or noises. The gearbox feels very smooth to drive around normally with.

However, whenever I try to do a fast gear change from 2nd to 3rd it absolutely will not go into gear. Now even when I try to do this there is still no grinding whatsoever but it just will not go into 3rd.

Does this mean 3rd is worn? I realise 3rd is the first gear normally to go on these boxes but just wanted to clarify as it is perfect in every other situation. What would people recommend doing to fix it?

Help would be appreciated.

Have you changed the oil? What oil do you run? If you don't run smurfs blood then get it

Change oil as suggested. If redline oil doesnt help then fairly safe to say worn synchro, or box will need disassembly to inspect
