Cadillac Cts Brake Upgrade.

Recommended Posts

I took a trip to the states and saw some guys using Cadillac CTS big brake calipers and evo rotors, and from what they say it cost the 500 dollars or less for everything up front. Almost all of them I see is on s14 silvia or s14 240sx has any one tried these setups on the r32 gtrs as it would be a great up grade for very minimal cost. Im thinking about doing it. I know I have done it tge next way around. I have put r32 gtr brakes on a s14 silvia. And only the metal gaurds needs to be straighten out for the bigger rotors everything else fits. Ive even did it from r34 GTT to s13 and only the bolt holes needs to be open up on the front knuckles. (Caliper mounting area) plus the metal plate being flattened out.

Anyone seen this before?????

I havent seen it, but am interested.

From what I can tell they are the same calipers as used on our Holden commodore ss redline. The front calipers and rotors can be purchased brand new just over 1000, but the rotors are wrong stud pattern for Nissan. Haven't seen price for calipers in their own but are probably reasonable.

At enjukuracing ask for Andrew he has the whole setup for 550 dollars. Look at the follow photos of the part numbers. Its dead cheap. Even worth the effort. I sceen shot our conversation. The part numbers are there. They look bad as☆ on the cars and are very very big he also have me a quote at 1100 if I wanted a 2 peace rotor, but at the 550 its worth the effort.

The only slight issue is caliper adaptors would need to be engineered for road use in Australia. However I've never heard of any insurance issues with not having them engineered

From what he is saying only the brake lines would be in question. The z32 300zx should work on a r32 gtr though. Seems like some strict laws in Australia. Hmmm:angry: damn governments.

What size rotor are they quoting?

These need a 355mm rotor at minimum, guys are selling them with a 350mm rotor and it's causing issues...at least that is what a reputable brake company is sydney told me.

Although If I can fit 355mm rotors under my wheels, I'll be all over this

We are getting a lot of VE Commodore owners using these calipers with larger rotors that they purchase from us here in Melbourne.

They buy the calipers from the states dirt cheap (so they tell me) and they bolt straight onto their VE's with bigger discs.

Appartently much information on some Aussie GM forums, its a very popular conversion ATM.

Looks a reasonable upgrade. Neat brackets too. Does anyone actually know the piston sizes of the calipers and whether they have different sized pistons?

Also, anyone gotr pics of the pad, rotor edge? The caliper doesnt appear to saddle the rotor all that tightly?!?!

Yeah lots of VE/VF owners doing this upgrade.

It's reasonably cheap, not $550 cheap though once you get to AUD.

Hmm. Well I guess your right there. For once im on the lucky side. Lol

Visually they look the same as the Vf brembo calipers, which definitely have different sized pistons.

. Can that be conformed?

Those are the 4 pots, 2012 model moved to 6 pots. Ctsvbrakeswap (link above) will hopefully have their production bracket available soon to suit these using z34 14" rotors.

A member on one of the american zed forums made a small quantity of brackets also but these required a fair bit of modification to fit, I'll probably give the above brackets a go once released

Edit: piston sizes are different & from what I can find are 30, 34, 38
