Pnm35 Manual Conversion

Wondering if anyone has done a manual conversion in a series 2 PNM35 stagea? By the looks of it, it shouldn't be to hard. I presume you'd be able to source all the parts from a 350z. Any info would be appreciated. Cheers

PM35 (RWD) would be simpler, Autech made manual M35s, called the 350S, by mating a PM35 and a 350Z. I want one, badly.

80% correct.

The 350S was actually based off a Series one car, not a PM35.

Yes, I guess doing a PM35 would be the easiest car of the range to manualise. Don't know how easy until you compare everything, but look for a manual 1/2 cut of a series 2 V35. You'll need the extra pedal and all that stuff, the interior pieces too. Sell the motor off.

Post build thread!

If you have money and want the ultimate, I hear murcury motorsport in qld have a getrag manual box custom made to fit an m35. Proper manual awd. .. sexual

I have spoken to Mercury.

They ended up staying auto as thier customer wanted to hit the thing with more boost / more power and an auto set up suited thier needs better. I'm not that interested in staying AWD to be honest.

As far as wanting the ultimate... RWD 6 speed, stand alone ECU wired up and then screw a bit more boost into the thing.

Street driven RWD M35 with a responsive-ish 300 kw's (give or take... E85 of course). This would be my goal and i know many before me who have wanted the manual dream have made a decision (for whatever reason) to no go through with it. I still hold hope for more development to make this a reality for me at least. Money is rarely my issue but being happy with the money i spend to achieve a result... thats a different story

Weird they post a picture ages ago with the getrag box fitted up.

But yeah manual would be nice. Unfortunately the Mrs has no desire to drive/learn manual so mine will always stay auto as she drives it a bit.

That being said I would want it awd manual. I love the awd system in our cars. Almost the best of both worlds. Still enough rear slip to slip the back out a bit. But with the awesome control and safety that awd offers

Yeah i rang them re: what they used for the getrag set up and the bloke told me they ended up staying AWD auto.

I love my M35. From the lines of the body to the newly fitted GTR seats but it really needs the manual for me to feel right. My Mrs has no desire to drive it so it's all about me!! :P

AWD seems to bring more issues when converting to manual and i'm more than happy to go RWD. It will take me back to my golden years of driving my R33 and R32 GTS-t's

Any information i can gather than might be of use i'll spread around for sure

Is that the one that did an engine swap also? I think he used a VQ30 swap? I remember the one tho...

I beg to differ on this point; Mercury carved up the floor in the car to fit the Hybrid R33 GTR.

You don't just "Change your mind" after that.

As for more power; I call bullshit.

I don't believe the car was ever finished, and if it was; NO ONE has ever seen it.

For every incredible build that they do; there seems to be 4 stories just like this one, and the owner just giggles like a schoolgirl , and says everything is "secret".

If it was done; they would want to show it off. My gut doesn't trust them at all.

I would be delighted to be proven wrong, but the silence on this "Build" has been deafening.

I don't really disagree...

I saw all the pictures on facebook of the build photo's which was why i spoke to them months ago. The above is what i was told. I agree that if the thing was a success there would be pictures or some kind of vids showing it off.

I wish you luck with yours Beau; you've made a nice start, and I think your goals are quite achievable, especially if you have $$$ to spend.

Cheers Dale, the M35 is my main focus for at least the rest of this year so we'll see how i go. Next year i'll be back to house building again so i'd like to get any big jobs done so then it's just maintenance i need to worry about. ;)

PM Kinkstah about his auto setup. his spent big coin on his auto. shift kit, TCU tune, full paddle-shift setup. loves it. handles 400rwkw with no slip (apparently)
