Rb20det What Is This, And Should It Be Open?

Dont know a great deal on this engine just yet and want to learn more, I have this open / exposed part of the engine that isn't like this stock. Could anyone please tell me what this about, if I should be concerned and what is the best option for the engine. Cheers

There should have been a pipe that goes from there to your intake pipe to "vent".

yeah that is a rocker cover breather, should be a hose to intake unless not stock/been modded, even then should be a filter or something on there, not an open port. Not familiar with rb20's myself, I suggest you google image search for a pic of a stock one to see what it should look like.
