Hi all,

You may already be aware, Alpha Omega Racing have been developing adaptor kits to fit front Evo Brembo’s to S/R/Z chassis for some time now. As some of you are aware, they have recently finished development and testing of their rear kits, creating a cost effective way to get some bigger brakes on the rears of our cars. Alpha Omega Racing recently ran a group buy for the front kits and is now offering a group buy on the new rear kits, as well as a second round group buy on the front kits (now Version 3). The new version for the front kit means that now both front and rear are completely bolt-on (except for the dust shields being trimmed). The front kit previously required you to cut a tab off the hub. They are also stronger with the new design.

What you need to get (front kit) - B.Y.O. or supplied by Alpha Omega Racing:

- Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 5/6/7/8/9 Brembo frontcalipers(including pads/pins/shims/clip)

- Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 10 front 350x32mm rotors

- Custom brake lines

Alpha Omega Racing can supply all of the above parts, but you also have the options of sourcing them yourself. I personally sourced parts for my front kit elsewhere as I had my own lines made and picked up a cheap set of calipers. Alpha Omega Racing has these parts listed at:

- Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 5/6/7/8/9 Brembo frontcalipers (used) - $850

- Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 10front350x32mm DBA T3 rotors (new) - $470; or

- Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 10front350x32mm DBA5000 2pc (new) - $1200

- HEL custom braided brake lines (new) - $130

What you need to get (rear kit) - B.Y.O. or supplied by Alpha Omega Racing:

- Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 5/6/7/8/9 Brembo rear calipers (including pads/pins/shims/clip)

- Nissan 370Z rear 350x20mm rotors

- Custom brake lines

Again, Alpha Omega Racing can supply all of the above parts if desired. I personally sourced all parts from Alpha Omega Racing for convenience with the rear kit. Alpha Omega Racing has these parts listed at:

- Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 5/6/7/8/9 Brembo rear calipers (used) - $450

- Nissan 370Z rear 350x32mm DBA T2 rotors (new) - $450

- HEL custom braided brake lines (new) - $110

Silvia (180SX/S13/S14/S15) drivers who want a functioning hanbrake will need to use the R32/R33/R34/Z32 rear drum setup, a very common upgrade.

It is also worth noting that the rear kit requires a 6mm hub spacer to be installed for caliper clearance, this will also push your wheel/tyre out a further 6mm so may affect guard clearances.

Alpha Omega Racing can also offer services to rebuild your used calipers, powder coat them, or even install the whole kit.

Using both the front and rear big brake kits developed by Alpha Omega will result in a 69:31 brake bias.

Wheel clearance:

Minimum of 17" race style wheels with good clearance are required.

Brake Master Cylinder:

You are able to retain your factory brake master cylinder, however it is recommended to upgrade to a brake master cylinder with a piston size of 17/16" (such as a BM57). Genuine OEM BM57 BMC’s are available from Alpha Omega Racing at a price of $500 (new), or you could also try to source from your usual Japanese parts suppliers or Nissan dealership if you desired.

Price:

The RRP for the front adaptor kit is $370 plus shipping, while the rear adaptor kit is $450 plus shipping. The group buy discount will be based on total number of kits being purchased, not the number of buyers, and will apply as such:

- <5 kits = no discount

- 5-11 kits = Front kit for $340ea, rear kit for $420ea, ($30 discount + free shipping)

- 12-19 people = Front kit for $310ea, rear kit for $390ea, ($60 discount + free shipping)

- 20+ people = Front kit for $280ea, rear kit for $360ea, (90 discount + free shipping)

Alpha Omega Racing also offer packages with the adaptor kits and other required parts. They provide discounts on normal pricing, but will also be offered with the $30/60/90 discounted pricing of this group buy based on numbers, meaning a further saving. These packages are:

- Half kit – includes the adaptor kit and custom brake lines
Front – $449 (reduced from $500) less group buy discount

- Full kit – half kit, plus calipers (used) and DBA rotors

Group Buy Condition:

The group buy will run for a two (2) week period, finishing at close of business on 11th November 2015. Anybody interested in purchasing either of the kits/packages as part of the group buy should notify me by the cut-off date and I will add them to the 'buyer list'. At the conclusion of the group buy period I will tally the number of buyers and advise Alpha Omega with the total numbers. A discount ‘coupon code’ will be provided to each buyer allowing them to get the appropriate discount in the shopping cart on the Alpha Omega Racing website.

NOTE: Group buy is a PRE-ORDER and will have an approximate four (4) week wait between payment from all parties and delivery.

Prior to the cut-off date all communication will be with me either via this thread or via PM. At the conclusion of the group buy, once you have been provided with the discount code, all communication will be between the buyer and Alpha Omega Racing. All shipping and payment details will be between the buyer and Alpha Omega Racing only. Any warranty on the product(s) will be provided by Alpha Omega Racing.

How long will the code last for?

May or may not be getting cash.

If I do, doubt it will be around the 11th.

More likely the end of the month.

Will know if I can go ahead in the next week.

And would be getting front and rear kits.

So, NOT CONFIRMED YET.

but, should know soon.

    • I'll rent a fuel pressure tester soon and report back.
    • It has a separate fused 10ga wire running from the battery to the relay in the trunk. 10ga on the ground also.
    • Actually I did the fuel pump rewire 2 days after the issues started. Grinded away the paint and grounded it to the chassis behind the right panel in the trunk.
    • well, to check fuel pressure all you need is a gauge and a 8mm joiner with a gauge port in the inlet fuel line; if it stalls at idle when hot you can open the bonnet and check pressure at that time; the fuel pump is a potential cause for what you are describing but it could also be wiring to the pump getting hot. You haven't mentioned that the factory fuel flow control on the fuel pump earth is removed. So either way, it is worth running a suitably sized and fused wire from the battery to pin 30 in a new relay in the boot.  Use the ECU trigger wire into the standard fuel relay to pin 86. Earth relay pin 85 and the Fuel Pump negative (nice big wire for the latter too). Run relay pin 86 pin to Fuel Pump +. That will remove multiple possible fuel pump wiring issues in a 30+ year old car
    • I've been running a 525 for years with the standard hat and FPR in the stagea (mine has a 32 gtr fuel rail and stagea and 32 hat and tank setup are the same) without an issue with base fuel pressure. You said when you disconnected the return it is OK, did you do so at the fuel rail or the fuel hat? Either way I'd be looking for blockages or in the case of the tank kinks in the lines downstream Note I did however have an issue with the current required for the 460 melting the fuel hat.
