Which Head Light Is Correct For 92 Bnr32?

Recommended Posts

I purchased my Jan 92 gtr and realized that for some reason (maybe accident? Idk) they replaced one of the headlights. I want them to be the same and correct for model/year. Anyone know which headlights is the wrong one? It's not a v spec or nismo. Here is a picture. Thanks!

See if you can find part numbers on them and then check (or ask someone to check) with Nissan Fast to see which part numbers are correct (post up your VIN)

I'd suggest the left light has been changed to a pre 91.

Right light looks correct for a 92 GTR.

Check the bulbs.

Your left (if it's a pre 91) will have H3C low and H3 high

Your right (if it's post 91) will have H1 low and H3 high

Three key differences between the projectors:

1. Grill mounts for the GT-R grill (apparently mounts can be purchased from Nissan). This is what differentiates GTS and GT-R grills.

2. The bulb type. Early ones are H3C low and the later ones have a weird adaptor and take H1 bulbs. H3C had a wiring adaptor for the H4 to H3, latter H1 takes the H4 plug directly.

3. The shroud/surround, the chrome bit around the projector and high beam reflector. They are slightly different.

They all bolt in the same so it only matters what bulb type you want to run. The projectors are shithouse anyway. Do a retrofit!

Don't think any re-pinning is required but from memory the holder is different. The H3's have semi circular locators here as the H1 has a flat section. (H3C is the odd one with two pins)

The H3 drops straight in and comes with a ground wire so everything plugs back in.

I think the H1 has the same loose supply ground wire.

Been a while since I looked at my 32's lights, may be getting confused with the S13's.

Maybe look for a pair of N1's?
