Hi everyone!

I am new to the forum, and after years of reading the forums thought i would join and start tackling a few jobs on the car. I have a couple questions that I'm sure someone on here could answer!

I had to replace my MAF sensor, the part arrives in a few days. Just wanted to know if i can just reconnect the new MAF and start driving or if i have to do anything else before or after i can use the car again?

And also. I am currently running a K&N filter (the kind you oil) but have read that this sort of filter can be bad for the MAF so am looking at a HKS mushroom filter. Just wanted to know what dimensions for the filter i will need for it to fit in my car (series 2 R33 GTST). To connect it to the MAF etc.

Thanks guys, much appreciated!

Welcome to SAU dtrants :)

Just put the new maf onto your airbox, plug it in, and start driving.

The maf od is 3" so any 3" pod will fit. But you will need an adaptor. They can be found online or ebay etc.

I used to use a k&n panel filter. I washed it with cold water then let it dry and it was fine for 6 months until I changed my setup. If there are any remnants of oil on the filter and it does make a film over your new maf, get some contact cleaner and spray the maf wire and it should clean it up.

Thanks for the fast reply Trex!

Are you able to give me an idea of what to search for? Like keywords to find the adapter I need. I'm a newbie to this stuff ?

I actually saw one of those filters fail on Facebook the other day. The nut came off and went straight into the turbo. Plenty of people have used them with no dramas, and it was the first time I have ever seen it happen. So up to you.

I just use the cheap ones from supercheap etc.
