Putting this here for references/Google searches:

Hey Niz,

Are these the exact options you selected for your retrofit?

Loved how yours looked, planning on doing this to my projectors.

Cheers in advance dude.

Yep same projectors and D2S bulb. I used a different ballast (a fast start one from eBay) and made my own harness. Don't need sealant as I used to existing one (just re-melt), but it's probably a good idea to get the sealant if you scraped off the old sealant.

Did you post details on the ballast already? I would be interested - finally going to get the lights sorted (possibly halos). Nice timing with the lesser Aussie dollar which is my loss.

Did you also use an E46 shroud of some sort?

Ah - thought the Morimoto XB35 ballasts were instant on as well? What's burning time to get full output?

Does choosing a more powerfully rated Ballast make a difference to setup? They have the option for Morimoto 50W ballasts - but all I can think of is more efficiency rather than anything truly meaningful.

Anyone here use the Osram Xenarc CBI (5K or maybe 5.5K) - just white and bright apparently. Scared to try because of brightness and the fact that it does cost a fair bit.

No idea of their new stuff, but the old Morimotos weren't quick, took like 15-20 seconds. Build quality is pretty good though.

I'm guessing their newer stuff with the separate igniters make them quicker.

Stick with 35W ballasts, don't need any more than that. The higher wattage ones burns the bulbs brighter (hence burns them out faster).

There is an existing thread for installation of Morimoto Mini D2S 4.0 so I won't go into that, but here's Mini D2S 3.0

Instead of trimming the 'bracket', I'll use a 'spacer', which also will bring the projector slightly forward (a good thing).

Are you trying to squeeze that into the R32 headlight body?
If so, I'm bloody impressed and will look awesome if you can make it work.

How are people ensuring that the lights are at an appropriate level and not blind other drivers?

Mine looks ok close but steps up when far? Not sure if normal or not?
