  1. Hi All, Hey I have this issue with my 2010 V36. Best described by something I stole off the net below. From my extensive Google research I reckon I need the attached ECM update. It's pretty bad. Every time I'm driving on a highway at over 100km/h and I decelerate and the car engine brakes, it shuts down and goes into a limp mode where it won't go above 30km/h and starts jolting violently if I accelerate. If I have no road shoulder to use I am screwed. If I pull over and turn off the car off for 30 secs its back to normal, until it happens again. Happened 5-times one way from Sydney to snow last year. If I drive where my foot is always slightly accelerating or braking it doesn't happen. But I as soon as I coast and let the car decelerate above 100km/h it will happen. Is anyone experiencing the same issue? Does anyone know a fix? I plan to clean the MAF's with CRC cleaner. Have done the pedal ECM reset sequence. Does anyone know anyone who can do this update who isn't Nissan or Infiniti as, they aren't overly helpful Has anyone had the ITB09-028 ECM update from Nissan? I have aftermarket cold air intakes and an Uprev flash tune I reckon the ECM needs the ITB09-028 update I have attached. Any thoughts on this? Here is how I would describe the issue based on some G37, owners issue: POWER TRAIN Apparently on 2009 infiniti g37s, there is a programming error/deficiency in the electronic engine control module (ecm) affecting the processing of the mass flow rate sensor that will cause the engine to unexpectedly (and without a dash warning indicator) to lose power. at occurrence of the failure, the car will decelerate from highway speed to less than 35 mph within a few seconds. following the failure, the engine rpm will not exceed 2,400 rpm and speeds above 35 mph are impossible (i found that 4th gear is the highest gear selectable). this failure can be dangerous in a number of traffic situations. i have learned from an infiniti service dept. that the failure will temporarily correct itself if the engine is turned off for a period of time, but that the failure could reoccur. the car's ecm was re-programmed by towbin infiniti (las vegas, nv) on august 30 and that supposedly fixes the failure. while at towbin, the service man said that infiniti knows of the problem, but is waiting to see how wide-spread the problem is. owners have not been told of this problem. towbin service said they have seen about 300 cases of the problem. a salt lake city dealer service dept. had also heard of this problem. again, i feel this problem can be dangerous, because: if it were to occur in heavy traffic, it may be difficult to get out of the way of others; if it were to occur when turning in front of oncoming traffic; after it occurs, there is no way to keep up with higher speed traffic - one is left going slow and hoping no one rear ends me; without more information, i have no way of knowing if the problem has really been fixed. 2. Just to add to this I am pretty stoked with the fuel economy improvement. I was averaging 6.4km/l or 512kms per tank. This is the second tank I had since the tune. With this tank I did a return trip to Canberra at 588ks. The rest has been normal Sydney traffic and I have been driving it hard with paddle shift. I reset the trip meter 5km after filling a tank. So its at call it 700ks with 160ks left to go on the fuel meter reading (which is always slightly overstated) Even though its highway driving and different to metro I'm pretty stoked as normally would need to refuel halfway back and I'm home with a quarter of a tank left.
  3. OK did sound like a cool story. While we are judging some of you need a hug. Got the intakes off AsM. 'Satisfaction' Cold Air Intake Systems. You can see on You Tube. The intakes changed the sound of the car. Anyway that's all I wanted to do to my car so I'm happy with it. They probably flashed it with UPREV and told me it was a dyno-tune, but that's the art of being a mechanic. For me I'm loving the torque, throttle response and power off the mark, particularly in paddle shift mode as I have an SP. Attached is the dyno-graph.
  4. Hi All, Got my V36 dyno-tuned at CRD yesterday. Combined with just putting some dry type cold air intakes on it (no other mods), it has tweaked the performance of the car to how I would like it to be with minimal cost. It removes the throttle lag you get standard with this car and it feels more like it launches more. It has a 'Raspy' racing kind of sound now through all gears. The dyno print out shows about a 10% gain in power and torque and increased top speed. It has also made the paddle changes more punchy. I recommend it as the first thing to do to anyone who has a V36 stock standard as it changes the whole feel of the car. Cheers.
  5. Hi All, For any newbies or anyone who hasn't worked this out yet, I have the answer. I have a v36 2010 sedan with Sat Nav. You have to set up your phone for Bluetooth first. You then set up music streaming separate. Once you do this it makes Sat Nav redundant as when you music stream, you can use apple maps through a smart phone and the maps chick gives you voice directions through your speakers, partially muting the music each time. There are heaps of other cool settings I am starting to work out now. From what I can see you can't upload your phonebook to the car from apple phones as apple have set the phonebook to be read only, but sounds like you can for non apple phones. So all you need to do is use the US G37 manual. All the menu entry and 'No, yes, OK' option are all the same for both cars. So for example, if you it says go into Bluetooth, pick the third menu entry, and pick no or OK, follow it exactly and it will work. Because of the RHS vs LHS drive in USA vs. Japan, the button set on your dash is simply in reverse. To first set your phone up, go to page 4-85 for Nav models. To set up Bluetooth music streaming go to page 4-66. Have fun and if anyone works out some cool new shit, please post. 6. Hi All, I needed a new door actuator as my central locking stopped working. I have a v36 2010. I decided to give Infiniti Sydney a call and they were most helpful. I was expecting to get ripped but their prices were reasonable and they know the V36 inside-out. I was also concerned that they might be anti-import, but that wasn't the case. They love the cars and want new business. I got them to service the car and put in 4 brake pads as well. They did a basic service for $350, but also took the time to fix some rattles and check everything was all good. All in all I was really impressed and I recommend them. There's no bullshit and they don't try and rip you. I asked them not to be telling me my discs needed to be rotored as they looked clean and they agreed it was not necessary. Anyway, if you want to book something in, just text the Service Manager Tony on 0438 888 140 and he will sort you out.
  7. Hi There, Having some issues with Bluetooth streaming music from my iPhone to Bose System in my 2010 V36. My Bluetooth for phone calls still works fine. I have a feeling the Bose system needs a firmware upgrade to the latest A2DP standard to stream music. If anyone has got any info on how to get a firmware upgrade, can you please let me know? There's an option on the US Bose site where you can use a product finder to look for upgrades, but you need the serial number of the product. If anyone knows how to get the serial number without pulling the media unit out, that info would be much appreciated as well. Thanks.
  8. Thanks Gents, PN-Mad, Want get it de-limited so I can take it to track days at Eastern Creek where I got an M3 up to 260, so I figure I could get 220kmh out of my Skyline on the straight. Colt 357, I hope I don't see you at traffic lights!
  9. G'day Colt 357, I have a v36 SP, 2010. I have been expoloring Uprev to mainly get rid of the Jap speed limiting. Mine is car is stock engine wise so ot would be interesting to see what power increase I can with a tune. East Coast Customs is an uprev distributor in Aus. Apparently the Osiris software is free and the cost is in the cable. I have read somewhere that you cant use it across multiple cars, but not sure how that could be enforced with software loaded to a local drive, unless the cable somehow tells the software it had been used on a specific ECU. It's $770 inc GST and back in stock in a couple of weeks. Apparently the software is useable out of the box and you can do it yourself, depending on what you are trying to do of course. I'll repost if I get it. I'm in Pyrmont so we could try it on multiple cars and see what happens and if it works chuck me $100 or something.
  10. Hi Mate, I just got a black 2010 SP through j-spec. It was 4.5 grade and turned up in superb condition. It has Volk 19's, RSR suspension and an Impul body kit. 16,000kms All up it cost me $45k to get it complied, registered including everything in NSW. Great car!
