  1. Couldn't help but read your from campbelltown....I've had my plates taken twice once in the car park at Ingleburn (woolies) the second time from my front yard...rural west of Denham court. It co-incided with the petrol prices.....haven't had a prob for a while...where did you see this happening??, alot of dead sh*ts out this way.
  2. Theres a tuning shop in the UK called "Jap Village"... there series 6?? RX7 with 20b huge turbo to4z?? runs on two stroke... angry little thing....off one of those mischief DVD's...gets my vote.
  3. Theres a lot of good tips going around....there is a big stigma of interest rate rises...as mentioned above if you can cover the min repayments your sweet...you can claim interest on the loan, agent handling fees (rental), the difference between your net rental income and your contributions towards that monthly min, any improvements you pay for....then if your in with a creative accountant...gravy. I keep in touch with a few mates who are agents as well as me oldies who have done well off property... there are a lot of people out there who bought during the boom...borrowed a lot just to get into the market then borrowed against any equity that they may of had to have the new car, Tv, etc etc etc now that demand has dropped the prices have dropped as well and consumer items depreciate like a brick...these poor folks have negative equity due to consumer items.... This is good for buyers....there are sooo many distressed mortgage sales in my local area. It may sound predatorial but these are the sales you want to find....very negotiable and want out now!! Ask your local agents and watch a few auctions...they will tell you which ones are desperate.
  4. The volks a good car Ive seen one about my area...theres also an older one which tears up my road at night...there not that bad a choice...better than a saab or similar.
  5. Ive been in your situation...similar age too...I was looking at buying a lotus elise for 48k 3yrs ago which even today would be a good buy.....I bought a block of land instead near my folks house in a beach suburb of Tasmania....its increased two and a half times in value...with that equity into an investment unit in DEC 06...now waiting for something else.... The moral of story is you need to set some goals...Ive blown a heap on cars prior to this time...a heap...ever lost 12k on a car in 6mths??...but at the same time made a shite load off real estate. It sounds like your on some decent money...ever thought of the benefits a invest prop can give??.... You also only live once... what kind of car were you looking at?? 34gtr??....maybe I would go for the car!!
  6. I was looking for a cheapie for my day to day ride....found this. I feel sorry for the guy he's copped a fair wack sarcasm...JDM falcon. http://www.uniquecarsales.com.au/pls/carsa...price_max=20000
  7. I had a similar prob....it turned out to be thge belt tensioner.
  8. I read a tech tip from hot 4's and gave it a go ....don't know issue number something like this I removed the core taped a plastic bag to one end of the end tank then emptied 3 cans of degreaser into the core.... then taped another plastic bag over the other end tank..... invert back forth then empty....repeat if real dirty then wash out with water..... i used tap water but i imagine de min wouldn't harm........ stand so excess water can drain out .... (leave in the sun)....hope this helps..... whilst the cores off use tweezers to straighten fins.....and remove insects....I noticed a dif when I did this as the core had been on the car since I bought it....very dirty hope this helps.
  9. Thanks guys thats given me a heap of figures to mull over. ..as I said in the original post with 190xxx k's I rather start building a motor up and do a swap rather than blowing my only means of transport and go around like a mad chook trying to get the car back onto the road with a rushed job... a short motor goes for around 900-1100 these days? thanks again.......I'll start building my 220kw++crab pot.cheers
  10. No replies?!?!.....I know that 20's take punishment but they do break...and do need builds surely someone here tonight has done one?? any answers or advice...give me direction...cheers
  11. Hi all, I have been green with envy whilst reading everyones posts on performance from there lines for the past two odd years.....I want to start chasing power. I have almost paid off an investment which has been taking up most of my income.....and the end is in sight (2mths) Currently my rb20 has 195XXX on it and makes a healthy 175rwkw. Due to the k's on this current engine I'm looking at building a 20 opposed to buying a 25, 26, 30 etc. I want an engine that I know the condition it is in to start as a base...I'm after a reliable 230-240rwkw all day everyday...don't need turbo advice If you could answer a few of the questions below to point me in the right direction it would be appreciated Thanks in advance... cost of rb20 to 22 with parts labour etc?? cost of rb20 to 24 with parts labour etc?? I have heard of 9000rpm redlining 20's....what needs to be done to build something of this nature?? Your personal experiences with a 20 build what would you do differently??
  12. http://ebaumsworld.com/2006/07/reverseracing.html Bored at work!! found this. Not sure how old this is but european reverse drift seems ok...enjoy
  13. justin911, zyban is a perscribed drug which you take once a day....it removes the cravings associated with quitting...Im not sure of the common side effects...though i did have a light head most of the time...the only reason i wouldnt smoke whilst on it was because it felt like i just had one....$30 for 30 days then you are allowed two renewals of the perscription....so 3mths. very good success rate.
  14. G'luck.....I was a heavy smoker for about 5 years.....tried cold the sphincter of the universe, patches, gums........best bet if these fail is to go to your chemist and ask for zyban.....you will need a perscription which will last you three months and the drug is subsidised by the government.....though if you dont quit in this first go with zyban you wont get it subsidised at a later time.....very good method. once again top work g'luck
