  1. Thanks guys. I actually had a system revamp recently and upgraded to a full ATX system running the following new components: ASUS Sabretooth Mark 1 ATX Motherboard Corsair C70 Military Green Case Corsair RM-850 PSU Corsair H100i CPU cooler Corsair AF 120mm fans Corsair white LED fans +Custom sleeved PSU extensions from PC Case Gear (Military themed) I need to change the RAM. Looks completely out of place.
  2. Hey man, Sorry I haven't been on SAU in months. Since that post, I replaced the alternator with a new Bosch unit, and bought a 2nd hand starter motor. Didn't fit the second hand starter as the noise disappeared, however it has now returned, and my electronics are still crapping out on me. A battery place in Mount Gambier told me the battery was fine, and the issue could be with wiring... Might just book myself into an auto electrician and see what he says. My mechanic friend can always swap the starter motor.
  3. Whoa, it's been a while since I've been online. Yeah this was on a bench. Twas all safe. Finished the PC not too long after that post with all the parts described, and a Samsung S27D590P monitor. Pretty stoked with it. P.S. Anyone regularly on Steam here?
  4. Hey guys, Recently my N/A R34 started making an odd sound occasionally when I start it up (Usually in the morning). It sounds similar to the sound your engine makes when you try to turn the key whilst it is already going (If that makes sense) - Sorry I have no idea what to call it. It's like a tinny sound. I changed the oil very recently, which didn't change a thing (Didn't really expect it to, but thought it could remedy it somehow), and I've had an ongoing issue with my electronics (CD player randomly turns off when I have high beams and other electronics running on full - extremely irritating) I had the battery changed like 8 months ago, so that shouldn't be much of an issue, and I inspected the earth points on the block and chassis, which look completely clean, leading me to think that the alternator is boned, although this doesn't explain the noise upon startup. Anybody got any ideas, before I take it to the mechanics? Cheers, Cory
  5. Hey guys, I haven't really been on the Skyline Forums for a long time. I've been a bit financially crippled concerning car stuff. And this is one of the reasons why. This is my first PC build, although I don't think I've felt confused or worried at any stage, which I guess is a good sign. I've done my research, and I think it will pay off. I'm currently studying IT at University externally, which is a massive challenge for me, but hey, bring it on. Anyway, I felt I needed something to build this year, which I knew I could manage and most importantly afford. I also felt I needed something to reinforce my coursework, by giving me the confidence in successfully completing an intricate PC build. I've been purchasing parts over several pays, one chunk at a time, so I've never had a set list of parts. I've kind of just winged it, with the help of PC Part Picker to confirm it will all fit. Anyway, so far, I have the following installed: BitFenix Prodigy Mini-ITX Case - Black Gigabyte GA-H87N-WIFI Mini ITX Mobo Corsair CX-600 PSU 80+ Bronze Intel Core i7 4770k (Over-clockable) BitFenix Spectre 230mm Blue LED Fan Intake BitFenix Alchemy Blue LED strip Antec Kuhler 650 H2O Liquid CPU cooler (Barely fit - Extremely painful to install in my setup) G.Skill Ares 16GB (2 x 8GB) RAM DDR3 1866MHz Corsair AF120 Quiet Edition Fans for a custom exhaust I modified for the roof of the case (See Images) I have bought a Gigabyte GTX-770 OC 4GB, which should arrive in the next few days, and should give me a beast of a gaming experience. Managed to pick a new one up on eBay, during their 10% off discount thing for a reasonable price. At this point, I've spent like $1700. I might be just over $2000 by the end of the build, not including a new monitor, keyboard and mouse. All I need now is an SSD, and a HDD, which I plan on being a Samsung 250GB and a WD Black 1 TB respectively. I also want a disk drive. Because I'm old skool yo. Now, pictures! (Sorry if some are blurry. Haven't taken photos with my DSLR in months) As this is my first PC build, I'd like your opinion. What do you guys think?
  6. Yeah too easy Mick. Cheers for having a look. Next time my car is on a hoist or above a pit, I'll try and take some snaps for future reference. Might help someone else who has no idea with this stuff, like myself. Hah
  7. Nah haven't had any fuel gauge issues, sorry. Yeah I did the bicarb trick with mine a while back, but it didn't do much for me. Had to physically sand a layer back. Do you think you could take a couple of photos of your engine bay with a couple of arrows pointing to the general area of the earth points for me? I'm keen to do the same thing to mine, but I have no clue where they all are, and how to reach them (crawl under car or whatever) Would give me something to do this weekend, and would definitely put my electrical issues to bed once and for all!
  8. Hey man. Funny you ask, because I just fiddled with my electrics yesterday. Headunit had only flicked off once since my last post, although my headlights still flickered. Yesterday I sanded back my negative terminal on my battery to give it a better connection (Best I could do without knowing where the chassis earths are), and my headlights don't flicker anymore. The old man thinks it'd be easier to chuck the R34 on a hoist to find the earths on the chassis and tidy them up, as they look in a hard spot to reach.
  9. UPDATE: Box was actually an ancient Chinese magic box which turned coins into solid gold. 10/10 good investment. will buy again. ebay for the win.
  10. There are only so many everyday Commodores and Falcons one can see, before getting tired of them. But then there are cars/ owners who like, on the other end of that spectrum, who are trying to be unique. There is this kid in my town with a Magna, like bright turquoise, in your face, eye bleeding turquoise, with custom rims, and a pod filter. He's put carbon fibre wrap on the fuel cap and stuff. He hoons around my town and I just cringe. Cringe everywhere. If he was a friendly person, I'd be like "Yeah feck it, he's not harming me", but it's the opposite, he's a complete douche. E.g. Will always high beam you if you don't wave back Pulls up next to you, and will blatantly criticize your car Installs a start button into the dash Sorry if this sounded random, or unrelated, but f**k this guy and people like him.
  11. Yes. Hahah. Which is why I found the situation so awkward. I mean, I love the car, but it's not an insane powerhouse, and I don't act as if it is
  12. Went for a cruise to Adelaide this past weekend, and popped into a Bottle-O for my passengers. Anyway, they hopped out and went into the shop, while I waited in the Skyline. This was like 5-6 pm on a Sunday, but there were still a few people in the adjoined pub, hanging out, and could obviously see me. Two complete strangers, a bloke and a female, came out, pints in hand, and legit spent 5-10 minutes trying to convince me to do a burnout. Quote: "Hey do a skid man. Those Jap cars go hard ay!" The female goes "Yeahhh do a skid man, and i'll skull my beer!" I didn't even know them. Haha. I don't even know how I feel about that kind of attention. My old car was a 1990 Holden Apollo. Hahah To infuriate them, I went full nanna, and left in a considerate and safe manner.
  13. This needs to be Wastelanded..... So bad.....pls admins..
  14. Yeah but will you take credit card?
  15. Hey Charles, is that a GTR front diffuser? Does that just bolt right on to the oem lip, or did it need a bit of modification? I have the same front as yours, but that lip sets it off
