  1. I recently bought a V37 350GT Four hybrid and these guys https://jpnz.co.nz do English manuals which have been translated from the original Japanese manuals using the original pictures and diagrams. I am in New Zealand, which is where they are based, so I am not sure if they ship to Australia, but no harm in asking. This is the link to the manual. https://jpnz.co.nz/product/nissan-v37-skyline-hybrid-owners-user-manual-in-english-2014-2023-part-n-o-189-copy/ Cheers, Steve
  2. I know im not in Australia, but New Zealand is close enough. I have a 1962 Prince Skyline Deluxe model code BLSID-3 same as the one in an above post. As far as I know Australia didnt get this model or the 1963 Prince Skyline S21-4 model code either. Both part of the 1st generation Skyline. Next of Course was the S5 series (S50, S54 etc) second generation which NZ only got a limited number of S54AE and S54BE models which were badged as Prince A200 GTA or GTB. There were 39 BLSID-3 cars sold in NZ in 1962 and are said to be the first Japanese cars sold in NZ
  3. In some European countries Prince was marketed as PMC. Most later Prince manuals are branded PMC Prince.
  4. Sorry, my post was a bit confusing, but it sounded ok when I was writing it....lol. Will set it out better and go from there...Steve
  5. I want to add a correction to the early Prince Skyline models you list with information from my Prince factory parts book produced January 1963 and Prince brochure dated March 1962. ALSI-1 series produced from April 1957, and ran to mid 1961. ALSI-2 series from mid 1961 till April 1962. The next series which never seems to be mentioned is BLSI-3 series from April 1962 till October 1962. This model (which I own one) was almost identical to the ALSI-2 series externally but used the GB4 1862cc motor. Available as a 3 or 5 door wagon also. Next was S21-4 series which was the same car as previous but with a new front as a sedan and 5 door wagon. This series was produced from October 1962 till September 1963 when it was replaced by the S50 series (notice the pattern of the numbers). All these were known as the first generation Skyline. All the Wagons were known as Prince Skyway and not Skyline. Motors for ALSI-1= 1500cc GA30,1900cc GB30. ALSI-2=1500cc GA4,1900cc GB4. BLSI-3=1900cc GB4. S21-4=1900cc G2. S50= 1500cc G1. There was also a Gloria model which was known as ALSIP-2 and BLSIP-3 which used the Skyline body untill October 1962 when it was replaced by the S4 Series Gloria(S40=1862cc G2 4cyl, S41=1988cc G7 6cyl (also used in S54 Skyline GT-A), S44=2500cc G11 6cyl). Unfortunately some of the history on the web is a bit flawed, but thumbs up to SILVIA and others previously for at least bringing the history of Skyline to our attention. I am sure others have bits of information that should be shared with everyone here, as history is important. Check out my cardomain page http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/622621
  6. At one time it was one of many Glorias (and B200) cars we had including a B200 Estate. The white one in the pic was assembled in NZ with a floor change shifter from a S5 series Skyline GTA. All Gloria and B200 were 3+Overdrive coloumn change manual, same as Skyline GTA's. The normal trans tunnel was cut (rather roughly) and a steel box made to cover the remote shift control that bolted straight on top of the gearbox. As the made up box was the same height as the front bench seat cushion, there were limited positions to move the seat back and forward, 3 instead of 6. They also had the coloum change gearshift hole blanked off, although the gear was still in the steering coloumn when you looked under the bonnet. I dont know how many were done but I have only seen one other.
  7. I have 3 Skyway Wagons, all sold new in NZ during 1963. One in pic is going to be restored while the other two are only parts cars. They were known as the 'S21-4' series. Available model were S21S-4 (standard sedan), S21D-4 (Deluxe sedan) and W21B-4 or W21B-2 (wagon and plain van). The difference from the previous models was the new guards, grille, bumper and bonnet, otherwise they were identical from the windscreen back. Prince Skyline sedans were available in NZ from mid 1962 and the Prince Skyway offered in 1963. I have been told that Australia never got these models but got the 'S5' series ie: A150 and A200GT sedans from 1964? The NZ Prince agents only sold the 6cyl A200GTA and GTB, along side the Prince Gloria 6.
  8. I think you will find that the car designation and motor designation are all coincidental. As I remember the R30 Skyline had an 'L' series engine, and the R31 had an 'RB' series engine or a 'CA20' engine when badged as a Pintara. The letters in front of the car designation are usually a quick guide to show what vehicle it is, as an example only: KMCR31. R31=chassis desination. 'K' might mean 4 door. 'M' might mean sedan as opposed to 4dr pillarless hardtop. 'C' might mean RB30 engine. This is the way Nissan did it in the 70' and 80's so I assume they still do it now.
  9. cars: 1962 Prince Skyline Deluxe BLSID-3, 1963 Prince Skyway (Skyline) Wagon W21B-4 age: 32 NZer in NZ sales
  10. Just a little note.....I have a copy of an Australian Wheels Magazine from the mid 70's with a small writeup about the 240K GL. It mentions they were badged as GL and not GT as insurance companies were not keen on insuring any vehicles badged as GT.
  11. Hey there, I am from NZ and stumbled across this site,(well the thread actually) by accident. As far as I know AU didnt get any Skylines untill 1964/65? when the S5 series was available. This included the S50 4cylinder A150, S54 6cylinder A200GTA and GTB (GTB had triple webers), that were raced. NZ had very few Skylines GT's sold here but had alot of 1965 S41 Prince Gloria 6 sedans. AU had few Glorias but more Skylines. NZ had the Skyline available in 1962 which was the BLSID-3 model (which is listed in very few websites) of which I own one. Next model was the S21-4 series which was a BLSI-3 model with a revised front end. The S5 series Skyline continued till 1967/68 known as a Nissan after 1966. The S5 series was replaced by the C10 model, which I understand, some were badged as a Prince. Prince Motors Division still exists as part of Nissan.
