  1. And they get way worse rattles when the stock dual mass flywheel has been removed and you put something nice and light in its place. I had a track official think my bottom end was starting to go once. Nah mate, just the gearbox!
  2. Been looking at these cars for too long to remember, both N1s and Nismos, most have had AC fitted at a later date, I can only think of a handful without ac and the correct slider type climate control panel. You can tell the ac is added by the colour of the liquid line that runs over the bonnet latch panel, black line is early and probably fitted when new at the factory for a Nismo, and natural aluminium is the later type system that they possibly cost cut to save on a bit of black paint! The Nismos will appreciate substantially, they were the car with the parts homologated so the race Group A cars could run some of the trick body and engine bits. The parts on these cars would have been very beneficial to the race cars success. The N1 was built as a race car so same same but different I guess. The Nismo had to be sold to the public as group A rules at the time dictated same as a Group A Commodore, Sierra RS500 Cosworth etc, so there 'should' be more survivors, but really they are as rare as each other as age, hard roadside objects and low class driving dictate. Hold on to your GTR special!
  3. If your buying a whole cluster, the circuit board on the back of the housing on the later models is blue versus a yellowish colour board on an early model. Theres a difference with the reed switch that sends a signal back to the ecu its a different shape and doesn't fit into the cluster housing. I have modified an early to fit a late, it involved some cutting of the plastic and I wouldn't recommend it but the customer had to have it as a part of a matching veilside dash kit.
  4. This is true. Other than a few extra loops of tape to secure the extra wiring, a few clips and blank receptacles for the connectors to seat into, the loom is identical. Regards, Auto Electrician and N1 owner Adrian
  5. Probably could, need to get onto my Nissan dealer with you numbers to confirm. Id be 100%sure you would have the same componentry as all N1s would, plus all the v spec extras.
  6. Regarding R32 N1, the 024U block only came out in the R33, my knowledge is the r33 motor had some lightening done to the block and the N1 was how they were designed in the first place. My parts guy couldn't find a difference in engine blocks from R32 standard to N1, with multiple examples of n1s, vspecs and vspec n1 placed into fast. But there are different part numbers for turbos, pistons, water and oil pumps. Im pretty sure the Nismos had the same turbos as N1s, may need to annoy the parts guy again for part number proof!
  7. There is no sequence of body numbers for N1s, as they were built from 91 till the end of production as a special order. The best way is to 'fast' the chassis number to get the model number (also stamped on the blue plate on the firewall) and decode that. As a guide, N1s last two digits of the model number should be ZN. This site has a bit of a breakdown for you http://www.users.on.net/~goofyhsk/info/chassis_plate.html Adrian.
  8. Mines still in Aus, don't think its going anywhere in a hurry, been waiting 10 years to get one. Trying to upload pics, will have to resize them first. Are you looking to import an BNR32 N1? Cause they are hard to find, even with a pile of cash in your pocket. Good luck with the search!
  9. Id be asking for plenty of detailed pics of the strut towers, which can and do rust frequently on 33s and 34s, and would make it not compliable, even on cars with 'good' auction grades. The stuff underneath is as mentioned fairly normal, and to me, a sign that it hasn't been hidden under a fresh coat of under body blackjack ie what you see it what you get. Would check the seams underneath are ok too, that's where the rust forms in areas of trapped moisture.
  10. Chasing a set of rear speaker covers for a R32 GTR ( I think the GTS coupe part is the same). Should say 'active speaker' on the grille I think. I dont need the tray, just the covers, must be in VGC. I can pick up in Brisbane, or post, whatever suits. Ill be in Sydney this weekend as well for the WTAC, just incase a Sydneysider has them. Adrian.
  11. I put a pic up in the rare Skylines thread a little while ago, didn't put the info in here as it wasnt a Vspec but I will do a more formal post soon.
  12. There are some very nice rides in this thread!! They also made a 'standard' R32 GT-R N1 in 1992 as well. My car is one of these, a 7/92 build N1. Very original car with all dealer paperwork and salesmans card, owner books and shaken certificates since new. It too has had the AC retrofitted but still retains the oil cooler, the condensor core has been shortened to fit next to it. As mjtown has said, the ZN on the build plate is the most definite way of identification. If I was looking for a fake check the washer bottle for evidence of the rear washer pump and see if the pump wiring is still taped to the wiring harness for it.
  13. I have had Steve (jake32) import a few cars for me over the past 8 or 9 years or so. Everything from Skylines, to Chasers to a few old Mazdas. A real straight up guy who was one of the original vehicle importers when the whole import scene first started way back when, and running a sevs and raws workshop for complaincing. importer me ...very happy
  14. Is this one on the list?? http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/brinsmead/cars-vans-utes/australian-delivered-and-complianced-1991-nissan-skyline-gt-r/1017769594 Black ADM 170Ks in Carins. One owner, no modifications, asking 45K. Has a separate listing for the number plate too.
  15. Im guessing It should go for around 4.8 to 5million yen fob, if it sells. Has had meter change at year 11 at delivery klms (15!!) so the kays are very real! and possibly minor damage or repair (w1) on the Lhs front door and rear quarter only but still very nice.
