  1. Progress update: Ok so recently I have hit the pause button on the R34 sedan project build, but not entirely, i have however shifted my focus from that of a complete engine rebuild of an RB30 (for now) and moved onto what i believe to be a more interesting and maybe even slightly experimental project. I have always wanted to go against all odds of what people say regarding to not do this, any ideas ? I am going to be undertaking an NA turbo conversion on my R34 sedan (NA+t). There is plenty of information on this forum on how to turbo an NA rb25de however there is less info on how to do it regarding an R34 motor where there is some trickery needed to get done with the ECU and turbo oil/water lines to get things working as they should. I will be putting my spin on things and covering some of those issues throughout my build as i encounter them, I hope someone finds this helpful and gets some useful information out of it. Enjoy. 2. I'm turboing my 34 sedan auto, I'm stuck on what ecu to use, I was given an gtt auto ecu for free. My questions are will the gtt ecu work fine with the control of the auto tiptronic box and also will the stock map thats on the gtt ecu be okay to run for a little while untill i have the time to take it to the tuners ? it's obviously an neo na engine and i'll be using 33 gtst stock turbo and 34 gtt injectors.
  3. Progress update: The motor I will be using for this build is not the factory NA motor, nor am I going to be getting a 25det and putting that it in there, but instead I will make life a whole lot harder for myself and go for an RB30 block, doing a twin cam conversion and then slapping a turbo on the side. I don't have all the answers yet of exactly what head I am going to use or what turbo however I can tell you that the block is an RB30 out of a good old Aussie VL commodore and was complete when I bought it. I took it apart, stripped it bare, degreased and pressure washed the block a little while ago, then oiled it up to prevent it from rusting. Protected from the elements as they say. Here's some nice shots of the block: Since the time of when I tore down and washed the block I haven't touched it since. It has been wrapped up in some plastic bags on the engine stand and has been waiting patiently to be taken to a machine shop to be dipped, bored, honed and have the block decked/machined so that the mating surface between the cylinder head and the block and straight and true. https://www.youtube.com/boostbuilds
  4. Quick history on the car I purchased the vehicle in 2014, my first car ever owned. I bought it second hand from a young bloke, and he was already the second owner. So basically if you haven't gathered yet, it's an '98 R34 Sedan 25 GT. Under the bonnet lies a naturally aspirated 2.5l engine coupled with an automatic transmission. Here's what we're working with : Plans: Now my plan for the 4 door is to basically turn it into an awesome street car, no crazy track car stuff, just a daily driver that will make decent power, good response from the turbo and most importantly make the power reliably. I am going to focus a big chunk of the build on the motor, the turbo conversion and manual conversion, however it's also important to me to have a nice fully functioning car with clean and comfortable interior. I do like crazy body wide body kits, and GTR style body kits for the 34 Sedan but I want this to be a daily driver with a nice clean look, and I find most of the kits out there just way over the top. So I guess stay tuned and follow along with me as I turn my first car into my personal dream daily driver.
