The reason why I do my testing at calder is its close and cheap (practice session days) I raced the car a few years ago and had it running 99.9% of its capacity, very consistant ... beautifully... I then had the car "modified" substantially including adjustable suspension... etc.... The car handles like a pig... I am fighting it all the way around the track ... The problem is when someone asks me what is it doing wrong... my response is alway "dont know, but it sucks" when I used to race it, its was sweat, now its a battle and a chor
  4. Hey guys... Just wondering if there is a company out there (in Vic) that help setup your car's suspension and overall for circuit racing... I have done a few Calder practice days, but I still cant get it right, and I know the car has a lot more to give... I'm running Tein Mono Flex, adj sways, few set of different spring sets, adjustable arms... Unfortunatly I am not consistant enough (lap times) nor expereinced enough to fine tune it. I the past with my old basic/cheap set up I could do 10-15 laps within 1-2 seconds of eachother... Now I am all over the place.. I've tried Centerline, who gave me a starting point but, I need more help... Any recommendations...

  6. Hey Guys, having problems with my recently rebuilt R33 GTR. I'm running twin Garrett GT2560R GTR 400hp (-10) turbos, procams, Z32 AFM and power FC (older one). The problem is a when I am cruising eg 60km/h or 100km/h the turbos seem to surge and it becomes pretty uncomfortable... My mechanic is running out of ideas... he tried re-tuning, plumb-back BOV, std AFM... but nothing changed... I have a feeling I might need a balance pipe between the exhaust manifolds... but its a big job for a "might" I am sure I am not the first to experience this... Please advise.. Greg
  7. OK... maybe I should change the question: 1: Does anyone here use -10 turbos and if so what kind of power have you acheived? 2: Is it worth going for the Tomei Poncams Spec B or should I get the Procam (one size up from the Poncams)? cheers G.
  8. my 2560's are -10 and are rated at (400hp each) there are -5 (320hp) and -7 (350hp), most people have the -5 as a standard upgrade over the stockies and they can do low-mid 300kw@4W... So I figure the -10's "should" hit 400

I dont really want to change this thread into a "Street legal " conversation, but the tomei poncams are mild, and unless they are experts they can not tell they have been changed... injectors are mounted on a machines standard fuel rail and are black, so again they can not tell... ECU, well unless they start pulling my car apart they can not tell again... AFM are stock NISSAN z32's and unless they know part numbers they cannot tell the difference. Pods are mounted in a Air box hence legal, intercooler is not huge and can be passed as standard and changing an intercooler is not ilegal
  10. regarding revs with the tomei spec B spring kit etc.. the redline will be 9000rpm With other "non-legal" things on the car... well unless the Police crack open my engine, they can not tell thats its modified, externally with the exeption of the exhaust tip my car looks stock... and not a cop magnet... thats why I want to stay away from LOUD exhausts... My exhaust is a jap brand.. but the problem is all the exhaust shop will not guarantee that a 3.5 or 4" exhaust will be under or around 90db.. and to throw out $1000 I would rather look at it as a last resort...
  11. The main use will be street with some track time. Exhaust is a problem as my 3' is already 94Db and max in Vic is 90... so I cant go any larger. Coil packs are Splitfire and HKS twin power CDI What are people thoughts about going larger cam ie: tomei Procams 270, Lift 10.25mm IN and OUT .
