  1. How much boost and rpm do you plan on running? If it's 18-22 psi and 7000rpm don't do anything to the head just get at gt3076r or similar sized turbo with external gate. If you plan on running around 25 plus Padi and around 8000rpm to keep it reliable will cost quite a bit more than just head studs and valve springs
  2. Hi can some here maybe point in the right place to buy genuine Nissan coolant hoses. I have the part number, just don't know the best place to buy them. I'm in Melbourne western suburbs. Cheers
  3. I also pulled the inlet off thinking it was the gasket but the gasket look fine. Haven't put it back together yet. Damn rb25 inlet is a pain
  4. This happened to me in an rb25. 8000rpm spark cut rev limit is what did it. I didn't figure out what it was but kept hearing a hissing sound when loading around the inlet manifold gasket. Also boost was lower than usual after. Is the car running the same boost pressure as before?
  5. I don't think it a good idea to have the coolant running through the inlet manifold like that on a 2000+ dollar race manifold. I would rather modify a greddy copy to suit a singe throttle body. Heaps cheaper. Maybe if it had a revised coolant flow system like a tube similar to the member above and runners that went all the way to the head. But that would prolly cost a small fortune
  6. Could it be possible that the engineers at Nissan did that to get the engine water temps up so the that the engine would pass an emissions test. So that it wouldn't have more fuel for cold engine temp fuel compensation
  7. I would love to see the above with a -5s comparison and the same boost.
  8. I would love to see the above with a -5s comparison and the same boost. Would be good if it still makes peak power at 7000rpm but push the peak torque down 500 to 4000rpm.
  9. These days with e85 and billet compressors less rpm and heaps of boost seems to be all rage.
  10. I don't think this turbo in twin form will perform well on any engine unless upwards of 3500cc as you are not able to cheat and run more boost to make the claimed 850-900 hp because it runs out of compressor at 2bar boost. On a 2.6 with let's say big cams revving to 8500rpm the -5 should make the same power as them at around 1.8 bar. A single turbo on the other hand like a t04z, gtx4088 or even gt4294r I think you are able to cheat because if you don't have massive cams or oversize valves to improve the Ve of the engine( which are essential to make the gtrs work well in an rb26/28/30) you can just run more boost to make the power.
  11. I have both turbos. The t04z on 25psi in an rb25 and and -5 on an rb26 28psi. Both standard head and cams. The -5 are more useable in 2 gear and it feels it has more torque from 4500-7000rpm. But the z from 5000rpm is alto more aggressive. I can't comment on gtrs but even getting the -5 set up properly on the gtr is abit of a pain.
  12. Hi I'm after the an ignition barrel and manual accelerator cable. I'll also pm you to see if you have these available.
  13. I don't think you should run a restricter like normal gt turbo. I'm not running 1 on my t04z and I'm not having any problems
