my opinion as to why people put so much importance in 1/4 mile times is because the 1/4 mile is like another way of measuring a cars power other than just a straight hp rating. instead it takes into account the cars weight/drivetrain/etc. its an easy way of comparing a car with another without too many variables (the main variable eliminated- driving skill which will heavily influence road racing and autoXing times) its easy, its fun, its cheap, etc

so its not the same as the other 4wd skylines? it really is rwd?

its about time, i hate that stupid gentlemens' law. (in the states its like 275-280hp) anyway that article is a very old hoax. if it were even remotely true it would be called the S3000 since it always follows the displacement of the engine. (like the s600, s800, etc) just some kid dreaming peace

by looking at meggala.com it says that the GTR's were RWD, is that true? were they all RWD or AWD or both? im confused. peace

Hey guys, just wanted to say hi and whats up. I'm from the US and have been looking for a good skyline forum for a while now since there is such a lack of reliable information floating arround in the states. The R34 GTR has been sort of my dream car for the past few years but since theyre about $90,000 USD in America... well doesnt seem like i'll be getting one anytime soon. I own a 93 Honda Prelude which is the main car I drive, I also have an AE86 which isnt running right now, and an 87 Accord. Next car i plan to buy is either a Supra, RX-7, or i'm even contemplating a 240 with the sr20det swap. Anyway, off the bat i was wondering if there is anywhere i should start reading on this site, or do you guys mind if i ask questions that have already been covered? I am interested in quartermile times for each model, maybe some real dyno numbers. In one of the US mags, APEXi claims that their stock R33 ran a 12.3 in the quartermile and I just find that hard to believe. Which models are the fastest? How much horsepower do they really have? Well I'm sure I'll be spending a lot of time reading all the threads here, so I should find most of my answers. Thanks
