  1. 8OO5TED,My old R32 GTR used to have the skyline "garnish" between the rear tail lights. And it was a real GTR. What I don't get is why are some of you putting comments in this thread about thinking the car looks dodgy in your own opinion, it's not cool to write things in someone's for sale thread that could be damaging to their sale, either PM the owner or if you're that concerned then why don't you discuss it with one of the moderators from this forum? I don't mean to sound defensive about this, but when I was selling my GTR someone talked cr@p about it that was completely unfounded, it's not nice and in my case it did throw a couple of people off...Just letting you guys know what it's like from the other side of the fence :|
  2. I'm sure I read somewhere an exception to that rule. From the factory wheel specs, you are legally allowed to increase the size (width or diameter) by 2". Therefore, 9" wide on a 32R is legal because they came out with 8" Agree that welshpool is good though! The inspector that saw my car for registration last year only failed it because the exhaust scraped really bad and the other inspectors were standing infront of their pits ready for the first cars of the morning, and they just turned and looked lol! He said he didn't like failing cars like ours because they are good cars, and a nice change from the *quote* " pieces of sh!t we get in here every day"
  3. My car gets similar economy to Gazza750's...R32 GTR, most km's i've ever had to a tank was 480, driving only in metro area. Usually get around 450 - 460. I run 0.9 bar of boost and i've worked out that with the mines rom, my car likes a bit of a poke for the first 1/4 to 1/3 of a tank as it seems to burn more efficiently or something. After that I drive it pretty tame, as the tune is very rich. High speed really chews through the juice - even just a short stint If I incorporate a cruise, i'll be lucky to make 400km to the tank. Car is my daily driver. If I fill up once the empty light is on, i'm looking at $85 - $90 for medium priced Ultimate 98 (I find the price ranges between 1.41 and 1.51 p/l). I get through that in less than a week. Car has a few nice mods but is relatively stock.
  4. If my car needs work I usually book the day off from my day job out of my holidays, so that I can take the car to the workshop and hang around until it's done and read a few magazines while they're working or something. If you're there, they'll usually let you jump in the passenger seat so that you are happy with the way they have driven the car. A little peace of mind To date, I have found that the vehicle inspectors at the pits / licensing centres are the worst for thrashing cars!! Sorry to hear about it though, it's never nice when you feel like someone has been disrespecting your property.
  5. I use Wheels World. I figure someone that aligns ferrari's and race cars on a regular basis is good enough for my GTR also has a wealth of knowledge and will happily set the car up to suit your particular driving style.
  6. Attessa is the name of the 4wd system that all GTR's have. It loads proportionate torque to the front wheels in certain situations such as when it senses wheel spin, level of G-force etc. There are numerous things to check if it is a problem with the attessa. Firstly check that all your fuses are in, as pulling the fuse is a common way for people to get the cars to run in RWD mode. Is the 4WD light illuminated on the dash? Could also be related to diffs or hicas if it's not the attessa. There's heaps of things to check with the attessa and if you don't know much about it then it's probably best that you send it to a trusted performance workshop and have them check it out for you.
  7. Is it hanging the tail out or are the wheels spinning as if it's a normal rwd car? Check that the attessa is working if it's the second of the 2. Don't forget that GTR's aren't full time 4wd, nothing much happens with the 4wd system until it detects loss of traction etc, so they can be a bit wilder than you may expect with the rear end. Attessa is a reactive system, meaning that it has to sense when it is needed and then kick in so there is a small time delay. How is the tread on your tyres also? Your problem could be related to a number of things...
  8. Item obtained. Could the mods please remove this thread. Thanks
  9. I prefer the pits at welshpool. They are alot more lenient and not picky on stupid sh!t that doesn't matter...Will only pip you for important stuff. Just be nice
  10. Yeah that's her. She does quite alot of swimwear comps in general. Actually we're both part of a model group that generally do alot of the comps at pubs n clubs etc, I don't do the comps myself - I stick to photo shoots (and not ones with cars haha). I modeled with her last year at the australian superbike championship - we were the yamaha flag girls on the grid hehe. Nice chick!
  11. Well I have used the Meguiars NXT generation tech wax stuff, and it is easily the best product I have ever used personally. My car is dark blue but it is very bright underneath - you can only really see this in sunlight or under certain lights. My paint job was very neglected when the car arrived from Japan over a year ago, and I have tried so many different things on it that it wasn't funny. But this stuff was amazing. My paint went from being blotchy (the brightness underneath was blotchy, not the surface), dark, dull and boring to being even and absolutely brilliant. It is really bright now and just looks fantastic. The shine produced is also much better than any polish i've ever used. The best $40 i've ever spent. I would happily recommend this product to anyone with a dark car. I also notice that the bottle version of the wax (this is what I used) is larger than normal bottles of polish. This product gets nothing but praise from me
  12. I applied it in a circular motion as with every other meguiars product I have come across, worked fine.
  13. Have you made sure that you haven't got the lock on? You may have accidentally knocked the button at some stage which would explain why the passenger can't put it down but you can.
  14. Hi there, I had this same problem with my GTR but I actually noticed a difference in the car's behaviour first. In the boot under the parcel shelf there is a computer with an LED that flashes. It will just keep cycling through so next time you start the car and the light comes on, pop the boot and get yourself in there so that you can see the led. Count the number of flashes. If it pauses and then just flashes the same number of times again, then you're done. Refer the code to a manual or you can take it to a workshop and have them refer it for you. If there is more than one error code, the first one will flash, short pause, then the next one and so on. For example, my computer flashes 9 times, short pause, 8 times, short pause, 18 times, long pause and then repeats the cycle. Have you checked the fluid level in the reserviour in the boot? This is behind the trim on the right between the back of the wheel arch and the tail light. Hopefully the error codes from the computer will give you your answer, because there are so many different things it could be. If the fluid level is fine then I would bleed the system (nipple at back of the transfer case and above the diff) to make sure there isn't any air. Check that your tyre sizes & profiles are the same, as different sizes can damage the diff. The important thing to remember with this in mind is the rolling diameter must be the same. To be completely honest with you, having been what I have been through, I would just send it to a workshop. But if you want to, you may as well check as much as you can yourself first. Check the sensors underneath your centre console, if the indicator is white then they should be fine, if it's red then it's probably a wise idea to replace them. When was your front diff oil last changed? The next things that I know of are worn clutch packs in the transfer case or a pump that is on the way out. Best of luck with it. And on a finishing note i'd like to say thank you to Duncan and GTRKen from these forums for your help and patience with my attessa questions and problems. I'd also like to thank my workshop of choice for diagnosing the problem when i'd had enough of trying to figure it out for myself (Speedworks) haha.
  15. Well i'm not meant to cruise until I get some stuff sorted out with my car, so it looks like i'll miss this cruise as well! Needs a new attessa pump and has another issue that i'm in the process of nutting out fingers crossed that it will be all sorted out around the end of march....
