I've bought a 180SX & the turbo is fried (oil line blocked, lack of service, etc?) so in replacing the Turbo I'm worried about spending the $$ on a replacement Turbo unit if the rest of the engine (161Klm's) is on the way out. I've got the old Turbo off (2.2hours its cactus, like my fingers) and would like to know if Attessa Bluebird CA18DET Turbo or indeed a Pulsar CA18DET would bolt straight on - or another mebee? Would be a shame to do all the work and then have to go and buy an engine & turbo all over again.   10. Sounds a great deal, but, whats a "Smic" Alex, is it a smicko R33 with 425Ft lbs and 458Kw or it a left hand thread nut for the glove box - ha, ha, pun intended, all the best mate Dave

Recently posted this and got a ripper reply from 400KW how to remove the pump . . but, when removed the pump works fine, tested wires and no current at pump elec plug (adjacent plug for Fuel Gauge works fine). So I pulled all the fuses and all check AOK with OHMmeter. I have Skyline Fuse box in English and the narrative doesn't have which fuse is for the Pump so I guess it shares with another "Ignition fuse". I am down to guessing that the problem might be the Fuel Pump "relay" - but which Relay? suggestions anyone - only alternative seems to be run a new live "fused" wire to get power? No "tick tick" sound from the boot area and we reckon at 175Klm the fuel pump has retired to a better place (better than my lovely R33, hard to believe I know). Anyway - where is it - is it in the tank? Is it under the panel under the parcel sheld (4 x 10mm bolts) in the boot beside the battery? Anyone done a swap before - is R33 Series One same as R33 GTS-T or R32 or maybee other models such as Maxima or 180SX etc etc Suggestions welcome - also - in this case - anyone S/East suburbs of Melbourne got One - prefer factory - Thanks guys/gals & other tech heads out there - Dave [email protected]
  12. http://www.transdirect.com.au Used Border Express happliy for a bit but in 2008 appears they shy away from smaller jobs preferring Company contracts. Found "transdirect" on a web site search - easy web site, easy to contact, easy to book and price . . for me . . OK - they accept Credit Cards so you can do all Online and not even talk to them ! Have used twice quite happily, last time in Dec for a Diff from near Wollongong to Melb - am going to book some Alloys from Nth NSW next week. Recommended - Yup Dave I Mosted this as a 4 sale in errore and got a prompt reply I had posted "an advertisement - nope" I've stuffed around finding freight before and its a ring around and a chase around. No "tick tick" sound from the boot area and we reckon at 175Klm the fuel pump has retired to a better place (better than my lovely R33, hard to believe I know). Clicking sound most likely the Solenoid (round smallish barrel on the outside of the starter, a pain on Skylines as its tucked under the manifiold and stuff) trying to kick the starter but not enough grunt from the poor old battery. The starter spins fast and the Solenoid whacks (approriate word) the fast spinning starter into the ring gear. Trickle charge or jump start - then get a Voltmeter and check the alternator is actually pumping enough volts (about 14.5 good) - if its only pumping 12,13 etc etc - it ain't enough. Clean battery terminals helps.
  15. R33 GTS Series 1 Non Turbo = the Fuse box cover (beside my right foot) is in Japanese - anyone got a translation or a pic of what fuse does what per chance? maybee a link to a translation ? thanks guys/gals [email protected]
