  2. what about a classic, good ol' fashioned wheel alignment?
  3. that would be my guess, as well as the fact that parts are hard to come by
  4. So did I. Maybe they're a little itchy about R34 GTR's cos they're so rare at the mo...
  5. well, having owned both NA cars and an R33 turbo, there's defnitely positives and negatives of NA and forced induction. personally, I'm no speed demon, and almost never drive my R33 in anger, and the NA R34's still look the trick, so I'd prolly go for one of those when the R33 gives up the ghost...
  6. Guys, Does anyone here know what the factory power & torque output ratings are on the N/A R34? I'm looking to upgrade from my M Spec R33..... I've heard conflicting reports - anywhere from 150kW to 180kW. Anyone have the real specs? I don't trust the car salesmen....
  7. as a rule, insurance premiums vary depending on the suburb you live in, your driving record, your insurance rating, how old you are, if you're male, if the car is auto or manual, how many cylenders and doors it has, and whether its turbo or not. some of these are obvious, some aren't. a turbo premium is more because of the higher power output and the desirability for thieves.
  8. your ECU would go crazy over the forced induction. besides, the RD25DET has stronger pistons and a lower compression ratio. i've heard horror stories of guys adding bolt-ons and have blown up their RB25DE. Two different engines.

you'd be mad to drive a hotted-up car without insurance.
  10. Hi All, Just wanted to know a couple of things. The series II R33 had a couple of visual and technical changes compared to Series I - some say good, some say bad. Anyway, my question is this: can a Series II headlight assembly fit to a Series I R33? It would appear that it is somewhat less rounded in shape and may require some cutting into the bonnet, but otherwise looks like they fit. Any ideas?
  11. Recently I browsed some accessories shops, looking for a classy new auto selector for my R33. I found literally hundreds of designs for manuals, but for auto I only found about 5 different designs, and only one of those has a button for Overdrive. If anyone can suggest places to look or has any photos of what might be available, it would be appreciated. While the stock shifter with stitched leather is nice enough, I'm thinking I could add a touch of class to the interior with an upgrade like this. Cheers, Mikey
  12. If you're going to do mechanical mods as well, I'm guessing it would probably be cheaper to just do an R33 bum graft onto an R34 car. This way you get a newer car, too. Just a thought.
