  3. Well its sad to say but... Despite non stop reliability, comfort and its range of equipment im Selling my R30 Nissan Skyline to replace with something for more $$ either an r33 or satria Gti... This car is in immaculate condition both inside and out due to two careful owners a protective metallic paint coating and quality tinted windows with 216 000km fairly low mileage for this model. Its had only two owners since 1986 when it first sold after being the nissan showroom vehicle. A Logbook and all reciepts of mechanical work has been kept since. Some Specs... *1985 Ti model Nissan Skyline *2.4inj 6cyl 5speed manual L24E (Unleaded) *Silver/Chrome *Electric Windows, Electric Mirrors, *Power Steering, Air Conditioning. *Skyline Alloy Wheels, Velour Interior-Fully Adjustable Seats. *20% and 35% premium tinted windows *Kenwood 4x50W head unit. *New Pedders Supsension (front) $3700 ono. PM me for more info and or more photos.
  4. u outta check out the scenic East coast, from the seaside town Bicheno to the Midlands Hway via Lake Leake road is excellent.. steep and winding up and steep and fast down with a scenic backdrop also from St Helens thru the Weldborough Pass is a tight climb with great views and less traffic and less top speed takes u to scottsdale...where the infamous sideling road starts.
  5. by the way 0HR-30T i didnt mention before cos i thought u drove r30 but i did see your car in port when i was there..if its a black 2 door R31 GTS-X or passage or similar, saw the beast once at lighthouse beach and had a peek inside once outside the petrol station in town...looks neat...btw missing that Port sun down here in the ice.
  6. i bypassed the heater for summer too but being winter and being out the other night was minus 1 degree in the city my power windows froze open????(i cant work it out either but thats what im told) i had to get some heat in the icebox skyline. so heres the story... 1.) the best quote to get it fixed from a mechanic place in Launceston was an estimated $800 and up to $1000 (actually a stoner looking bogan quoted $125 but he wasnt touching my car no way besides i guessed that was just the part!!!) this was mostly cos no-one i could find had been inside an r30 before?? said theyd have to get one sent from JAP if at all.. 2.) by the way its a heater core not heater coil- a small looking radiator with two pipes coming out of the top, this can either rust like a radiator with old age or abuse or the rubber or plastic O rings can bulge and leak. It is a fairly common thing with older cars and the r30 nissan had "plastic" surrounds so melting was common-thankfully the japanese have now discovered "copper"! 3.) so with uncles help pulled the dash apart (pretty major job) and discovered that the very 1st nissan pintara models heater core is very similar and only required minor modifications to the underdash to fit it in. a pintara core cost $275 from canberra 4.) DO NOT SOURCE A R31 heater core ($125) for this job!!! despite some mechanics saying this car is the same as the r31 so u can interchange all the parts... the r31 heater core pipes are totally different to the r30 and will not fit (even with sledge hammer skills)so dont get it done by a mechanic unless they realise r31 will not fit and is not the same... u need to use an old pintara heater core.. and PS if u can do it yourself.. and have 1.5 days to spare, do it, it saved me up to $700 and u learn alot about your car in the process. goodluck...
  7. Hi need help with a heater core part.... 1.)The heater core in my 1985 R30 has recently sprung a leak, hole,.. and needs to be replaced asap to survive the harsh southern winter...unfortunately i cant seem to find a replacement heater core part for the r30, 2.)however upon visiting radiator places there are heater cores for r31 onwards available for around $125 but i guess the r30 being mostly imported there is not a widely available heater core for this model and none of the mechanics i have spoken to have any idea about whats under the dash of a r30 to tell me if an r31 might fit. so im going to attempt the replacement (mission) in the backyard but still need to know if.....any of you know or have u had your heater core replaced with a certain type of heater core, i.e does the r31 core fit the r30.... thanks for any help!
  8. i was just in Port Mac up from Tas for 8 days (but not in my car), but saw r32(gunmetal with kustom plates?, an r33 and a pimpin red 200sx but thats it, cool place tho great beach and more laid back, not too hot and the chicks at roxys go off!!definately a place to stop on the way up north..
  9. got a pic of my ride, dont know how it will go getting on the thread but here goes.
  10. whats gone wrong with your r30s, there 19 and older so what problems have occured? just askin cos my car is immaculate and has had nothing go wrong,,,, apart from this week when coolant started to leak from the foot wells and airvents....stunk the car out and HELLO.. my heater core has died/eroded. turns out its gonna be a bugger of about 600 dollar labour costs to get the mechanic inside my/our awkward japanese dash to replace it.. oh well i dont think ill bother fixing it just yet my try to get a 15yold import to replace the skyline that has served its time well.
  11. http://www.carsales.com.au/pls/carsales/!c...rch_distance=50. how do you add links to a reply??
  12. http://www.carsales.com.au/pls/carsales/!c...rch_distance=50 interesting...... found this r30 while looking for a Calibra on carsales.com since when have skylines been 4cyl-i thought there were only 6cyl? anyway check it out...
  13. exhaust question..??? im getting a new exhaust for my r30 but want to know what size u guys have and if theres a size too loud or bogan on these cars.. my mates rex has a 3.1/4 inch and it sounds good but i think that would sound different(too loud) on a 6cyl??? im thinking of going for something closer to 2and 3/4inch also extractors... are they worth the extra $$for the economy and power..
  14. PHATMR30 So your the dude who got to those taillights before me .... im from Tas too-been living on the easttcoast for a bit tho so missed out- im in Launces now too so might c u about...good luck!
