  1. my mate took the photos and gave me links to them, so I just posted them up as is... I don't know much about photos/compression but it sounds like you need faster internet?
  2. just got some photos from my mate.. better late than never I guess... perhaps I should wash the car next time
  3. I thought the general "I turn happy laps into angry laps" vibe was the funny bit...
  4. loved the video, loved the commentary.. wondered if anyone else thought the same as me about the slow cars in the corners.. but then I thought that people were probably wondering why I was going so slow on the straights! I saw you pass me like I was standing still lol... I had a minor freak out the first time the camera "crashed" lol.. what sort of camera were you using? gopro style or a dashcam?
  5. thanks everyone, was an awesome event... loads of fun... I promise I was actually moving on the straights, even though it looked like I was standing still! I think my mate took some photos, will see if I can pry any of them out of him...
  6. well the evo is back together and holding boost as well as it was before (i.e. not very well at all), but it's good enough to drive and hopefully I'll be able to keep up with any NA cars
  7. I'm hoping to come along in my Evo 6, came and watched the last one at lakeside and it looked like heaps of fun... Problem is my Evo is in pieces and I won't get to work on it until Saturday.. hopefully I can make it

    Gauges

mmmm stack... wish my budget stretched that far (and wish they made a 60mm gauge)... stack gauges - http://www.stackltd....ro_control.html unfortunately my budget only went as far as prosport gauges - http://prosportgauge...ak_warning.aspx ... does the job, no problems, good + cheap gauge with warning and memory recall.. the start up "opening ceremony" is a bit american/boy racer for my tastes though

    Running

Birds pretty much covered it all, but just to clarify are you getting sore calves from the first steps? Or after a few mins/kms? I sometimes get muscle tightness in my calves at around say 4kms of a 5k run, but I just put that down to my age and general lack of fitness/conditioning. That muscle tightness is something you can "run through" without too much ill effect. My first thoughts when you said 5 x 5km runs a week was over training, especially if you are doing that every week. Most trainers will recommend that you train in a cycle, where you "build' to a point and then ease off again (like Birds mentioned about training for an event) or do 1 "light" week of training for 2 "normal" weeks.
  10. Data taken from my heart rate monitor for my last run (5.33km, 12.3 km/h 26mins 3.5sec) tells me my average heart rate for the run was 168, with a max of 179. That's probably an 80-90% work out for me at my current fitness. At the start of the year I managed to get my heart rate over it's theoretical max, but being 35 years old it's not that hard to do lol. While it's good to know your workout heart rate to make sure you are in the right zone, 2 things that I think are just as important as your workout heart rate are your resting heart rate and how long it takes for you to get back down to a resting rate after your workout. For example my resting heart rate is about 70, and within 5 mins of the end of a run my heart rate has gone from 180ish at the end of the run back down to about 100.

    Running

Good luck with the recovery, take care with it... So what's everyone's reasons for running? As much as I enjoy running, the main reason I run is to boost/maintain my fitness for the sport I play....

    Running

Yeah, I have a Suunto T3C... it's and older one now, but it works fine, logs all the data and you can review it later and compare your sessions. It can display in either beats per minute or as a percentage of your max (max is worked out using the 220 minus your age formula or you can enter it manually if you know it) so you can see how hard you are pushing yourself pretty easily. Can use mine for interval training (I think just about all of them do this these days), though to be fair the beep is pretty quiet so the interval beeps can be missed with traffic noise etc. I got mine last year when I was training on a tight schedule - wanted to make sure I was getting the most out of each training session.

    Running

Just started running again after taking 2 months off from it... Legs are still sore lol.. Did 5k in just under 25 mins which is about my goal pace, though the aim is to build to 9k in 45 mins. Hoping to do the bridge to Brisbane this year, missed it last year with the flu. You guys use a heart rate monitor in your running?
  14. Eps do you drink soft drink/cordial/juice? They are the first things to go if you want to lose weight...

    2011 F1 Thread

I think the DRS should be relabeled "Defense Reduction System" as the guy in front has no defense against it lol... Not really a bad thing I guess, does liven up the racing.
