  1. Hey guys Over the last 2-3 weeks I have been trying to diagnose an issue with my climate control unit for my R33 S2. The bulb on the RHS of the unit had blown a while back and I finally got round to ordering some LED ones as replacements. Fitted the LED ones (came with standard base so straight plug and play setup) however the side that before was working now wasn't, and the side that wasn't working now was. Baffled by this I tried changing polarities, changing the LEDs from side to side and nothing to avail. I ended up ordering a new climate control unit to end all of the issues in one hit. I got round to putting the new unit in today and low and behold the same is now happening. When I was installing it, both sides with be illuminated. But no matter how delicately I positioned the climate control unit the side that was working originally won't, and the side that wasn't now will. If I juggle the cables at the back there is no sign of the non working side ill imaging then not then illuminating etc Can anyone suggest what the hell is going on? I took her for a test drive and I came home to both lights illuminated. Turned the car back over and one side has now gone out AGAIN. Needles to say I am becoming very frustrated with what should be such a simple fix. Many thanks guys! This is driving me crazy!
  2. Hey SAUer's I haven't posted in SAU in a while now due to the last 2-3 years of my life being taken up by full time study. I finally have some spare time on my hands to finally do a build that's been 4-5 years in the making. Specifications: Model: Nissan Skyline R33 S2 M-Spec Year: 1996 Colour: Silver Location: Brisbane, QLD Odometer (Purchased): ~125,000kms Odometer (Current): ~181,000kms Turbo: Stock Boost Level: 9PSI (Solenoid bypassed, Turbostarmt Boost Tee) Inter cooler setup: Stock Air intake system: Standard Pod filter attachment with proper connection beach (done by past owner) Exhaust: 2.5inch Cat Back, 3inch Cannon, mounting angle = ~ 20 deg, Cannon Overhang (Rear bumper further eat point) = Nil Differential: apparentally a 1.5 way but I'm unfamiliar with differentials and what an approximate lock would be on a 1.5. This seems to lock excessively Interior: A pillar mounted SASS Boost Guage (mechanical operation) Upgrade clarion head unit with new 6" all round, running 2 x 12" JVC subs through an Cadence Monoblock Slight tear in drivers seat, centre bottom section. Drivers door had a tear in leather located at 3/4s arm point when arm is rested. Timber reinforcing has broken underneath (needs replacing) Steering wheel is in reasonable condition but has wear from "12 till 4" on "clock scale" Dash is from a SERIES 1 R33 skyline. I knew this at time of purchase, but at the time the power delivery, idle rate, smoothness of the engine and zero leaks were seen, with a recent for the marjor and minor services done >100,000kms made me think mechanically it was sound and it did feel great. Wheels: R34 GTT stock wheels on cut springs (was not too pleased about this but I knew about it when I bought her) Over the course if 3 months nothing "huge" mechanically will be done to the car as I have serviced her every 5-7,500kms with either motul 300V chrono or Royal Purple (both 10w40) but I would like to bring back that lovely new car feel. Is there any places in brisbane which can do a replica wrapping of my steering wheel? Potentially red stiching and all? Whilst I know it most likely easier to just waiting around till something in near mint condition would pop up, but given the quality of this one still I would prefer to just go through the re wrapping on the leather and stiching. Does anyone know of any places in brisbane that will do such a task? Many thanks from me for your help SAU Photos and progress to come very soon Admins: If you find this to be posted in the wrong forum then please move at will
  3. Hey mate I was curious as to whether the climate control is still available? Mine gave way today unfortunately. Everything works on it? How much would Postage to Brisbane be?
  4. Hey mate Is the climate control still available? is postage to Brisbane possible?
  5. Hey mate Is the climate control still available? I haven't read the other pages either so is postage to Brisbane possible?
  6. Hey guys Sorry I haven't updated in a while. I haven't had a chance to look at my car. Uni is in full swing. However over the last weekend i got around to changing the oil on her (she was overdue by a good amount, and have noticed a slight drop in oil pressure). So new oil and filter. Start her up. She runs smooth as anything. She was full on fuel so I decided to give her a spirted run to flush some new oil through the system. So I'm driving along after about 15mins of standard driving, touch of boost here and there, feels good, I drop her back to second, balance the revs and plant it. Boost comes on strong and smooth as anything. No kickback just straight in. Here's the thing though, I did this about 2-3 times and all of those times there was ZERO smoke and ZERO misfire. I also popped the car during this time and hooked up a boost gauge (as I'm running 9 psi and she's pretty much stock as a rock I haven't invested in one yet) and the boost was fine. Still 9 psi. It's a manual boost controller and it's +2 clicks/1psi so I figured it would still be okay. And the ecu is still reading "55" so all clear. Any possibility that low/oldish oil could cause more fuel dumpage? Is there a sensor or something possibly at the back of the sump that tells the ecu (when using boost due to oil feed to the turbo while low, and the kickback from it) that there's not enough oil. Therefor cutting the power sometimes. Or requiring more fuel? 1st may add up the second I'm still skeptical about Anyway sorry for the delays guys and thanks for all the help so far. Let me know if you think of anything
  7. One more thing to add that I always forget about lol I had to replace the fuel pump on her as the spindles inside went (Christmas day just passed, so f***king great timing). Replaced it with a second hand R34 Gtr pump which has 15,000 genuine km's on it. Contributing factor? It did happen with just, just over a quarter of a tank and I know the fuel pumps on skylines don't like being run low. Possible cause or me being paranoid?
  8. Okay so update. Took the car out last night. Just standard drive. She drove fine. Idle smooth. Power good. I didnt really go near boost though. Checked the ecu for fault codes with mr paper clip. Got a "55" which is "no malfunction"? Huh? This happened the other night and I haven't driven her that much since. So the fault code she still be there?
  9. Is she right to drive? Like without boost? She is my daily driver
  10. By the way. Always remains at 9pound 24/7. It's never been wound up or down since I set it. Manual boost controller too so just a t peice with a bung
  11. I'll give it a go boys. Only thing is she has been running 9pound now since about 3-4months ago. So I don't know why it would do this all of a sudden?
  12. Yeah. I replaced the coilpacks 2 months ago. Why I'm curious as to whats going on now though. I've also re bolted my battery earth as the bolt sheared off a while ago. So that's sweet too. No idea what's going on
  13. I'm gonna reset the ecu tonight with the old paper clip trick. See if it brings up errors codes/ take it for a spin on a resettled ecu
