  1. I did also post this in the Stagea section, but thought since it's Skyline related someone here might be able to help. I've just sold my Stagea and the new owner tells me that the power steering is coming and going when he drives round a bend in the road. It's fine when stationary or driving in a straight line, there are no noises and no leaks and the oil level is fine. Now, I've never had any problems with the steering on this or any of my other Skylines so I'm at a bit of a loss. The only thing that I ever did was when I fitted the FMIC I left the PAS air valve pipe disconnected and blocked off, but that was a very long time ago and I never had any probs or felt any difference in the steering. I checked with him that he didn't have the permanent 4wd button pressed in so that rules out transmission wind up. It's a Series 2 RS4V tiptronic so has the R34 GTT engine, never had HICAS fitted. The only other thing that I can think of is that maybe the UK mph speedo convertor has gone wrong, but I can't see how that would affect the steering in the way he describes and the tiptronic box and everything else seems to be working ok. Any ideas please ?

  3. Indeed it was me that wrote that guide. Fitting was exactly as per the guide, my Stagea is a Series 2 RS4V and I did also do the earth mod and run another better supply via relay too. I think that any uprated pump would require better wiring, the standard wire gauge in the car isn't exactly generous. Oh and I'm still waiting for the job. The recruitment is on hold at the moment, but rest assured if I get the chance to transfer I'll be coming to annoy some of you guys in person
  4. Thanks for the replies. Right now, it's looking like QLD. I've owned my Stagea for over 18 months.
  5. Thanks for the advice. I'm not interested in messing about buying other cars etc. I love my Stagea too much. The personal import details look favourable, cheers
  6. I posted this on the Stagea section before I found this area. I'm currently thinking about moving to Australia from the UK. I don't want to go into that here too much, but I have questions about bringing my Stagea. Does anyone know what hoops I'll have to jump through ? Will I have to "Standardise" my motor ? If so, to what extent ? What's the procedure for registering it ? Insurance ? Oh and anything else that I need to know ? It's a 1999 RS4V with a Masa body. RB25DET Neo. Induction kit, exhaust, steel internal turbo, FMIC, bigger brakes, Tein coilovers, Gizzmo EBC, R34GTR wheels. My costs and transport will be sorted by work.
  7. Bearing in mind, my employer will be paying transport costs, so I wouldn't have that to worry about.. So what would a car of my spec cost out there ? and am I even likely to be able to find a Masa Stagea with the mods I have ?

  9. Fully appreciate what you're saying, but I priced up a new caliper and pads and for not much more I've managed to find some R33 GTST brembo discs, ferodo pads(both with about 1000miles use) and good used gtst calipers. I've already got a 330mm front discs conversion and DS2500 pads with R32GTR calipers. I was never expecting a great increase in stopping power from the rears but every bit helps.
  10. Scratch that. I've done some digging and realised that I have series 1 rear calipers and discs on my series 2. From what I've found, mine is not the only S2 to have this setup. Maybe the factory were using up components, who knows? anyway time for r33 upgrade methinks.
  11. Just had to free off the piston in one of my rear calipers because it was rusty due to a small hole in the dust boot. Anyone know what, if anything is the same as Series 2 rear calipers, so I can find a rebuild kit ? 200sx maybe ? Obviously the other alternative is R33 gtst rear brake set up, but it's a shame to spend and go to all that trouble when Series 2 rear discs are nearly as big as R33 rears anyway.

Thanks for that. As soon as the snow has gone and the weather improved a little, I'll be trying it out some more.

Thanks for that. I found it. It was wrapped up to one of the wiring harnesses with tape. I was surprised at how much grip I still had until I really started hooning it. Much opposite lock twirling. Reminded me of a couple of my old skylines n gave me a little smile. Think I'm gonna fit a switch to it, for occasional sideways fun. On another slightly different note. Is it worth running it in 2wd mode on my 60 mile run to n from work? Doubtful, but maybe save a little fuel ?

I can't find the plug. Any more detailed description of it's location please ? I've took the drivers side kick panel off and also looked under the steering column.
  15. Thanks for all the replies guys. It seems a whiteline bar suitable for a GTR will fit with the links at an angle, but not a factory GTR rear bar. This is what I find strange, why does a whiteline bar for a 33gtr fit but not a factory one ?
