Front/Rear window Install Question
Ty1 replied to SLVRBAKSLPZ's topic in RB Series - R31, R32, R33, R34 (1986-2002)
Hey mate, its almost impossible not to crack the front windscreen when removing it. I recently had mine removed by a professional to get the seals replaced and he said 90% of the time they crack. The rear windscreen is apparently a thicker glass and less likely to need replacing. I went with genuine nissan seals but the racq windscreen guy said they can use aftermarket seals for around $30 -
Yeah i purchased a chinese ac compressor for my 33 and was thoroughly impressed with the quality and fitment. Not sure on the longevity but i figure i can get it rebuilt for a fraction of the price.
-
O briens should be able to remove the windscreen and replace the seals but you'll probably need to source the parts yourself. There are 3 separate rubber seals for the front and rear windscreens which need replacing and will cost roughly $300 per windscreen if you go genuine nissan parts

I haven't had a chance to take it for a drive yet...just waiting for the weather to clear up. That link you posted contains the most information i could find on it as well. Most guys turfed these in favour of a fmic but i wanted to see if having both could be done. Its a pretty cool factory option, even if it doesnt make a huge difference to the aerodynamics of the vehicle

I finally managed to find someone that had there r33 factory fitted with the front auto spoiler, who was actually willing to swap there wiring harness with me. It wasn't the easiest job but its all working now... and with a front mount intercooler too! 😏 Here's a pic of the loom that had to be swapped if anyone else is considering doing this as well.
-
As the title states i'm chasing the sub wiring loom for the factory optioned front active aero spoiler. This was only available on a series 1 gtst and was quite a rare option. I will pay good money to anyone who can source one of these and take the time to strip it out of there existing loom. I've attached a picture of what the plugs look like. I believe they're taped in with the front fog light wiring loom, so they should be hanging just behind the front indicators. And also any information on these spoilers would be muchly appreciated, thanks 😊

If they're anything like the r33 ganadors they will plug into the factory harness but as GTSboy mentioned you will lose the mirror fold function. You can still adjust the lenses though 👍

One of the worst service/install experiences... ever.

Literally sounds like a nightmare!! 😱😱 what a bunch of incompetent fools! -
I'm using a z387 too! Been using one on e85 for the past 3 years with no issues. I believe its the same filter used in the gtr's

Just an update on my starting issues. I ended up getting a brand new oem cas and took it back to my tuner to make sure it was installed correctly. It starts up first go every time now...even if i havent driven the car in a few weeks. Still runs a bit sluggish on a cold start, but once it reaches normal operating temp its perfect, so it must require some fine tuning for cold running.
