  1. Well done , and good on Platinum , did you not get the compliance paperwork with the car , what has been changed and done to the car at compliance is all in that ? --as well as who did the job. Maybe ask them for a copy of the compliance certificate and paperwork for your records if you haven't got it.--just a thought----
  2. My EVO GTA was complied by GT Compliance in Silverwater NSW not by Platinum or Eagers (group) who own Platinum and whilst the compliance certificate and paperwork were with the rest of the paperwork that came with the car the actual invoice for the compliance work wasn't . Interestingly my cat is down as having been changed in the compliance paperwork .
  3. Yep I bought an EVO 7 GTA of Platinum , had some problems with the suspension --like 2 out of the 4 struts were rooted and the usual service everything bullshit , timing belt etc that you just have to expect with every import , Platinum came to the party mostly on the suspension and the car was a good quality unit overall , I'm still driving it quite happily 15 months later without any dramas. My partner is a paralegal and I don't piss about being nice I go legal straight away with warranty issues ,and I mean straight away. Gotta know that a single front strut OE , just the strut is $765.00 if you need incentive, Paid primo price but it was either that or buy out of state and all the bullshit that goes along with that little fandango., has all the auction papers Jap gov klm certs , Jap Mits OE log and service books from new , revs paperwork shit etc so I reckoned it was worth the coin. Don't look for a tradeback anywhere with the Eagers group if you're looking to buy another car though, I did it as a half way serious exercise on a newby about 5 months ago , they wont even return your calls ,rude pricks. Sorry to hear you're having issues , why wont they come to the party , I'd be guessing that it's because they didn't have to give you a roadworthy out of state or that the Queensland roadworthy isn't recognised in SA ?
  4. I'll put in my 2 bobs worth .-- I was recently looking to buy a 350GT and did considerable research to that end , I previously had an R34GT-t but knew nothing about the V series at all. I live in Hervey Bay currently and I'm good with mechanical service stuff on the low tech level like changing oils , plugs , filters etc and if it's nuts and bolts stuff I can generaly work it out properly . The tech stuff is a whole different ball game to me though and outside of a plug in fault code reader I'm rooted, not an issue if there's someone around to sort it for you and the information for the fix is readily available , -----. So at that point I let the dream go , if I was back in Sydney I wouldn't hesitate to grab one. I ended up buying an EVO 7 GTA and now know that front struts for it cost $1758.00 an that there's none in the country --so that was a good call---
  5. I'm wondering if anyone has used used yellow speed coilovers and if they're good , they've got a lot of good comment but mostly with lighter vehicles like MX5's and Honda's , The price is good but are they a case of 'you get what you pay for' or are they a genuine bargain ?
  6. Find out the cost of a complete new pop up screen or it's equivalent including installation by someone who knows what they're doing like Chris Rodgers on this site then invoice JB Hi Fi for that cost not forgetting to include the cost of your time and disbursements including phone call etc in trying to sort this problem out. When they refuse to pay file the matter in QCAT if you're in QLD or whatever the small claims tribunal is called in your state/territory. Somewhere along he line you should find that J frakin B Hi Fi do the right thing and fix the damned problem for you. And if they don't at least you should get payed for the fix.
  7. Yep , it makes a big diff (IMO) when you're buying something like a 33 or 34 from a dealer , if anything was crook the 30 days 1000 k's was enough time for something not easily findable on an inspection or that only showed up intermittently to come out and at least you had some come back , I think it'll ping selling prices across the board long term. I just bought a newly complied 2002 Evo 7 GTA  with 75000klm on it for $16.5K drive away off a reputable Qld dealer which under the new Act would have had nada warranty , the car came with 12 months '''aftermarket warranty''' --at another $780.00 -- when I checked the Warranty Company the deal was off , until the dealer offered to write into the contract a 3 month 5000klm statutory warranty under the new act , deal on , contract amended/ signed ,deposit payed , pick up the car tomorrow. There are so many dishonourable people in the supply chain of these vehicles the mind boggles that I can't think of any genre of vehicle that a reasonable legislated statutory warranty is more important to than our type of imports.
  8. No thank you , it's all good , nothing for quite a while , I'm running a Kasperski anti everything virus program and it tends to be a bit missile crisis on everything but better safe than crashed .
  9. A note for those who haven't bought a second handy from a dealers for a while and have been used to a 30 day 1000 klm on rides having more than 160000klm or 10 years age Statutory Warranty be aware--the entire Property Agents and Motor Dealers Act (QLD) was repealed and this little gem of keep the pricks honest has gone. As at the 01 Dec 2014 it was replaced with the Motor Dealers and Chattel Auctioneers Act, this act has more curls in it than a boars pizzle and paperwork designed by bozo when drunk , it's a dealers dream . So with most of the average grey imports being over 10 years old and when buying from a dealer be aware that there is bupkis statutory warranty. The statutory warranty has not changed as far as I can tell in respect of the under 10 year/160000klm vehicle it's still three months 90 days.(Qld) A word of caution if you do have a complaint about a 2nd hand vehicle fault that is not covered by the Statutory Warranty you'll be taking it to Consumer Affairs to seek a resolution---good luck --the phrase 'ASS CLOWNS ' was invented specifically to describe this pack of nongs Unless of course you have access to Lawyers Guns and Money in which case it'd be --'GAME ON' !
  10. They sent me all the paperwork and it checks out ---the price is quite something else though , eeeek ,
  11. Yep , they have a top rep and I've been talking to Troy , I'm procrastinating on which way I should go for the best, my budget is limited to $15K absolute max that's on road done and done including transfer fees stamp duty ,rego , bloody tyres and all the bullcrap inc. I also don't want to be contending with a full service , ie gearbox/diff/s/engine/brakes/filters/plugs , etc etc on top straight away ether. So I'm thinking I may be better buying already onshore with a bit longer K's but servicing under control. It may be that a good 04 350GT just can't be done on a budget this small , I've also been looking at the Mits EVO VII GTA as I like the specs on this one a lot and it may be just a bit more do-able. Here's another 'clocking' link just bye the bye http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2246786
  12. Try giving Chris Rodgers on here a hoy he may be able to help you out with all the stuff you need to do this , and mayhap a bit of advise too
  13. AAAA HA !---thanks for that------more dodgey shit , I'm starting to go of the idea of buying any import somewhat when I read articles like these there's a load of stuff on whirlpool as well on the 'clocking' hobby so beloved of import dealers . I've had 3 imports over the last 7 or 8 years an R34GT-t from a dealers opposite Zupps on Ferry Rd ,GC, since changed hands was all good but an RX7 FC3C from MJR that was on Ferry Rd GC turned out a pile of steaming and the subsequent who-ha with the dealer was beyond an education , I got a 180SX-X from the a Ford dealer in Lismore that had a few issues that ended up in QCAT so two out of three have been a pita. It's like playing Russian roulette with someone else's gun and only your $15k on the table.
  14. Anybody had any dealings with these guys ?? no beef just askin' they've got a couple of cars I like and it's a fair hoy from Hervey Bay to Sydney. http://www.prestigeautocentre.com.au/
  15. Has anyone bought a car of Platinum vehicle sales Brisbane or had a RAWS compliance done by there workshop ? I can't find any info anywhere about them apart from their own advertising. Not saying there's anything moody but I'm thinking of buying a car of them and I'm just a bit uneasy .
