  1. I've got the same problem. If I remove the boot trimming will I be able to to manually open it from there? Is it as easy as pushing a button or does it take some fiddling around? Btw, is the boot trimming easy to remove? Anything I should be aware of before doing it? Thanks.
  2. Yeah it sounds like the motor is dying. I read somewhere that you can pop it open from the boot but not sure how to go about doing this. I'm really low on fuel which it makes it so much harder..
  3. I've got a pretty serious problem with not being able to open the fuel cap. The car is unlocked however the fuel cap still appears to be locked. When I unlock the door with the key I can hear a whirring sound near the fuel cap. My problem now is I'm low on fuel and I'm not sure how to unlock/open it. Is there another way to manually unlock it? Thanks!
  4. Had a mechanic look at it and he said that the thermostat motor is fautly. Replacement/fix quoted to me was about $1000 Am I being overcharged or is this figure correct?
  5. Hi there, While driving yesterday (35 C heat) the coolant started to leak through the hood of the car. When I had a look it was boiling and vaporizing. The first symptom seemed to be when the A/C temperature although on the lowest stopped being cold and then I also noticed the temperature gauge go all the way to 'H'. I've currently got water in in the coolant tank. About 2 years ago I had the same problem. I believe a radiator flush fixed the issue. I'm just wondering why is this happening again. Is it expected? or is the problem more serious? thanks..
  6. Thanks for the comments guys. I'll look into it as SMOKEYC34 pointed out.
  7. @SMOKEYC34: thanks mate. yup had it for about 3 years now. Do you think its good idea to have another mechanic check it out n give me a second opinion?
  8. Hi There, I got a nissan 350gt (v35). Recently I took it for a service and the mechanic came back with the following feedback: 1. Auto transmission oil discoloured brown. (I believe its meant to be red?) 2. Both front lower rear link arms inner bushes worn - Large Bush on subframe 3. Slight power steering oil leak from Pinion seal Now i'm wondering how severe this is and how soon should i get it fixed. And does anyone know how much it would roughly cost? Any comments are appreciated.
  9. Hi guys, So the passenger side power window appears to have malfunctioned. turns out the auto lock doesn't work either. Spoke to a mechanic a while ago who said i need to get an actuator. Is this easy to source? Is this also the reason the power window is not working? My biggest worry is that the window doesn't come up and its stuck all the way down Was wondering: Can any mechanic/service station fix this? Does it take time to source parts? Does anybody know of a place to fix it in South Eastern suburbs in Melbourne? I have seen a DIY guide floating around but i don't think i'm tech savvy enough to do it myself. Appreciate any info! thanks!
  10. another quick question. i've currently got the coolant tank filled with water. above the max cos i didn't know any better lol. when i've got the coolant, can i mix it with the water? OR wait till the water evaporates and then fill it with coolant? thanks a lot for ya replies.
  11. thanks. i'm not quite sure how to go about doing that but i'll try to figure it out. i also need to buy coolant for the car. is there a specific kind i need to get for a nissan v35 350gt? thanks.
  12. hey thanks for all that info. i did go see a mechanic today. we tried running the heater on to verify the sloshing sound but nothing happened. because its intermittent and the mechanic couldn't hear it, he asked me to come back if the coolant runs low (?). i mentioned bleeding the coolant but he said that he can't confirm anything at this point. would you recommend getting a another mechanic to check it out? thanks!
  13. hey thanks, yup there's nothing leaking atm. i'm new to all this. is bleeding the coolant easy to do? what does it involve doing? thanks a lot.
  14. the air con doesn't smell or anything but i had a look at the coolent and its almost empty...
