  1. I bought this car way back in April 2003, it had only 34000kms on the clock. For the last 11 years its has been my pride and joy, well looked after, always garaged, oil change promptly every 5000kms with only Penrite products, currently running 15w-50 full synthetic engine oil. Has only ever been run on 98 octane fuel with NGK plugs, currently BKR6E-11 gapped 0.8mm. At 100000kms it had its appropriate service with Gates timing belt fitted. Never had any problems with the vehicle, has always run great! Apart from aftermarket modifications, the suspension bushes have been replaced, new steering arms and tie rod ends, new starter motor, new genuine nissan radiator fitted in the last 18 months. Dynotuned 14 months ago at Federation motors in Cairns and makes over 400hp at the wheels comfortably at 18psi of boost, 98 octane fuel. This car has been great to drive, never been in any accidents, holds many memories, will be sad to see it go. I believe my car represents great value at $10,000. Here is a list of modifications done to the vehicle, most carried out in the last 2 years, like turbo, airflow meter, injectors, fuel pump, coil packs and clutch...   2. I have a pair of Tomei Poncams for a series 2 R33, VCT retained. But my car is a series 1 R33... Can these Cams be fitted to my car, would they need machining?

  4. It feels like 230kw, but i was hoping for more like what your car is putting out... It has a new 18psi actuator, which was specifically ordered for this turbo... Aftermarket 3' inch dump, single pipe not split system, aftermarket 3' cat and back exhaust, but standard manifold using spacer, 80mm metal intake pipe, tuner believes stock head gasket won't hold higher boost than 15psi, the car has got 115000kms on the clock and hasn't run any more than 1bar of boost it's whole life... As I mentioned to trident150v - I'm a bit suss on the turbine housing, it could be a dodgy hybrid, the rest of it is the real deal. I noticed from looking at the back (exhaust side) of many GT3076 turbo's that there are two different types (apart from size) of internal style housings the open type (like stock turbo, this what mine looks like) and partition type, between turbine wheel and internal wastegate. Could that be the answer, choke-aholic hybrid turbine housing..?

I've recently had my R33 gts-t series 1 RB25 tuned with the following NEW mods: Garrett GT 3076 AR 0.60, Apexi Power FC, Apexi AVC-R, Nismo 740cc injectors, Z32 AFM, Walbro Intake fuel pump 255l/hr 500hp rated, Super Spark coilpacks, Apexi Power intake, 3' Exhaust turbo back, FMIC, NGK plugs gapped to 0.75mm, running on BP Ultimate 98, and this is the end result... As you can see, the turbo is very laggy, and max power output of only 230.8rwkw @ 15psi. I believe the tuner has done best he can with the setup. How can I possibly get more power and response from the car, as quite honestly it was more fun to drive with the stock turbo @ 1bar of boost?
  10. What A/F ratios would you suggest for tuning turbo applications on a rb25det with stock internals with GT3076 running preferably 18psi, for a save everyday street driver? The optimum A/F ratio for N/A applications is 12.5:1 for best power when rich, and 13.2:1 for best power lean, so somewhere around there (If your intention is to tune it with an SAFC or something for better power or economy). WOT enrichment is generally to protect the engine/engine components like spark plugs. If you were to run a cooler plug, good fuel with appropriate ignition timing, you really shouldn't need as much enrichment, will get more power and better economy. Sometimes when maintaining WOT at high RPM on leaner fuel mixtures, components such as pistons can continually absorb extra heat (while the head and block are cooled sufficiently), that's when you use fuel to cool them. Generally you'd use somewhere at the lean end of the best power for part throttle, and somewhere around the rich end for at WOT, it really depends how high strung your engine is (compression/ignition timing/revs) and how hard it's driven.
  11. Hi, Anyone have any recommendations on dyno tuners in Cairns..? I've researched this a bit, asked around and found a lot of mixed emotions on this subject. My car runs a Apexi Power FC ECU.
