  1. thanks for the wealth of info, gives me a few more specifics to google now. i don't wanna spend 30k on something, just wanna get something that has a little bit of kick and i can have a good time in, i've never rallied before in my life so i wanna be able to learn the ropes. found some basic WRX's, early 90's with no modifications for around 5 - 6k all under 200k on the clock, so i might look at playing with something like that. cheers darren
  2. and whats the verdict on previously written off cars being used for rally events? is there rules against it?
  3. Anything with corners, dirt rally would be top of the shelf, then tarmac rally and then hill climbs.
  4. Okay so there's actually a couple of different parts to this question. I've attempted searching for the answers, but have been unsuccessful. I want to get into amateur racing as the title suggests. Questions; In relation to my road legal R34 GTT. 1) what modifications need to be done to the car to make it fit for racing and following modifications, will it still be road legal? 2) what sort of licence do I need for this style of racing? 3) where do I go to register for this type of thing? In relation to possibly purchasing a track car, thinking of some sort of evo/sti and looking at rallies. 1) is there any sort of Australian amateur rally scene/club? Can anyone provide details or a link. 2) where would I best be looking to purchase a track car? What are the rulings on stat and repairable write offs being used? 3) what sort of modifications need to be done to the car? 4) what sort of licence do I need? 5) what sort of cash would I be looking at spending on a project like this? Cheers Darren
  5. thats perfect, how much you after for it? its only really the center part of it im after but i'm happy to buy the whole unit if its more convenient. Its for a GTT, anyone aware of any issues fitting the climate control parts from a GTR to it?
  6. Hey I'm looking for a couple of pieces for my r34. The climate control box and dash surrounds for it with no cracks in the clear plastic, the shitty original paint is fine as it will be painted to match the car anyway. And also the small triangular pieces on the inside of the doors, the other side of the side mirrors. Cheers, Darren
  7. lol why is it whenever a question gets asked on this forum the response is "its already been asked, go search for it" and then you do and your question isn't completely answered so you ask it there and get "gg on bringing up a thread from 2006". 9 times out of 10 it would be just as easy to answer the question as it would be to tell someone to go and look for the thread from 3 year ago. If the question was that common, it would be stickied - its not so I don't wanna go searching for an old thread, I just want to know why my brakes are screaming.
  8. I bought my r34 a couple if weeks back. First thing I did was changed the front brake pads. Was easy enough. I got like bendix general pads for it. They're fine most of the time. But when I get heavy on them, they scream like a woman giving birth >.< how do I stop it?
  9. Hey anyone been able to get a veilside kit in Sydney? Where from?
  10. Anyone can recommend somewhere to get vinyl wrapping done? I'm looking at doing to gear shifter surrounds, radio/ashtray surrounds and the air con vents. Possibly around the air con controls aswell. Just anywhere that shit that always looks dirty is.
  11. How about carbon fibre sticker? Assuming I was to put it on no bubbles or anything. Is there a gel coat or something I can put over the top to make it look more "authentic" and less like a sticker.
  12. Just jap only have s15 replacements. And lol all you want, but I'm not familiar with the phrase "take lube". How "not cheap" is it to do? and is there an alternative? Some sort of wrap or cover for it maybe?
  13. Personally, i'd go with the ones that are sold for the R32 GTS-T instead of trying to make ones for a S15 fit. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/H1-10000K-HID-Philips-PL-Kit-Skyline-R32-R33-GTR-GTST-/200432731692?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2eaab8c62c#ht_1014wt_905
