<p>
	Hello so recently my car suddenly just one day refused to go into 4th gear/OD, I thought it was just way too cold and the car couldnt warm up and didnt end up driving it for a month after that. Well I starred driving it again recently and I noticed it slips alot in every gear. Even going from a stop to start it struggles to put itself in 1st and the engine will rev but gains no speed. However when it does go into gear it can hold it fine unless I suddenly rev it to much itll slip out for a second, so I check the trans fluid and its brown so I order some castrol trans fluid after abit of research and drain it and fill it up hoping this would make some sort of difference, well driving it right now it will shift into 1st and 2nd no problem no slip at all on its own or manually. But now when it needs to shift to 3rd itll shift out of 2nd and the engine will rev and rev and not shift to 3rd or 4th at all. I know nothing about transmissions and I couldnt find a whole lot searching for an auto trans,   3rd gear worked every time before but slipped a little occasionaly. Now it wont go into 3rd at all after changing the fluid.  Any help would be appreciated.  I know castrol transmax z is what everyone recommends but I had some castrol import atf for nissans honda toyota etc.  Am not sure if the fluid would make that much difference but like I said. Im clueless with transmissions and couldnt find much info.

<p>
	Hello ive been searching alot for a uprated R33 gtr gearbox or a rebuild kit with stronger 1-4 gears (close ratio)
</p>

<p>
	I cant make my mind at all on what route im gonna take.
</p>

<p>
	First OS giken = 12 months delivery is way to much for me right now, but the price and quality on OS giken one is the perfect match for me,
</p>

<p>
	2nd R34 GTR gearbox + swapkit, anyone know if any companies source those?
</p>

<p>
	3rd  PPG 1-4 close ratio, 3 times as expensive vs OS giken ones? why? with work and stuff this kit is kinda close a OS giken / Quaife Sequential gearbox...
</p>

<p>
	4th the Speedtek close ratio? seen a thread thats 2 years old that dident look so promising, anyone else running this with sucess?
</p>

	Hello All,<br /><br />
	I'm trying to narrow down what my clutch issue may be, so here's some information about the car and setup.<br /><br />
	I have an Aus delivered R31 Ti, its converted to RB25det box and Has either a clutch to suit the rb30 box/fly or rb25det box/fly, I can't recall as it's been in the while but it Is an Exedy 5 puck clutch.<br />
	R31<br />
	NSK-6797HDB<br />
	Heavy Duty Button Clutch Kit<br />
	Or<br />
	R33<br />
	NSK-7056HDB<br />
	Heavy Duty Button Clutch Kit<br />
	It has had a lot of abuse which is what the car was built for.<br /><br />
	I had the car at a drag meet and all of a sudden it ended up becoming hard to select gears, now I'm trying to find the issue.<br /><br />
	The master cydiner and slave are both rb30. Box is 25det as mentioned.<br /><br />
	Fluid was abit mucky so I replaced and bled it.<br /><br />
	The pedal was abit sloppy, a small plastic bush/shim that conect the pedel to the adjustable master cydlinder rod was shot and gave the pedal abit of play as the small pin (6-8mm) that's connects the two goes though a 10mm hole with a shot bush to pick up the slack. I made a new bush and also adjusted the pedal so it had more throw on the master cylinder.<br />
	When I release the clutch pedal I am moving the pedal abit before the clutch engages which tells me I'm getting enough travel out of the pedal?<br /><br />
	Next was the push rod between the slave and the fork, with some help i had the clutch pedal pushed in I manually moved the fork to see how much more travel it had after the slave was fully engaged and it could move around another 10mm so i made a new push rod about 7mm longer which made the car shift into gear easily but under boost the clutch slipped.<br /><br />
	Any other suggestions? Obviously I don't want to pull the box, do I just need a push rod 3.5mm longer than standard? Is it the diaphragm/fingers on the pressure plate?<br /><br />
	Probably not important but the car is running a RB30DET with 350rwkw.<br /><br />
	Thanks<br />
	Adrian

<p>
	The ZF 8HP is getting lots of praise for it's fast shifts, cost, robustness etc. <br /><br />
	A stand alone control unit for one is around 1.5k AUD - <a href="http://htg-tuning.com/" rel="external nofollow">http://htg-tuning.com/</a><br /><br />
	8HP-70 through that supplier is 2.4k, and I'd think you could source one cheaper locally (the 70 and 75 variants are used in 3 Series and 5 Series BMW respectively) The models relate to torque ratings but are apparently under rated (fine for my SR, maybe not for your big boy RB setups).<br /><br />
	The supplier states the box will fit the s chassis tunnel "<span style="background-color:#f2f3f5;color:#1c1e21;font-size:13px;text-align:left;">needs a little hammerwork to fit into the tunnel, although not extensive, easily doable". </span><br /><br />
	Given what a Z32 or CD009 conversion will cost, I wonder if this would be a better choice? <br /><br />
	Faster shifts, no mishifts, flappy paddles, ultimately smoother and faster power delivery, it can skip shift, etc.<br /><br />
	I would love to one day do WTAC clubsprint and I'm not sure if an auto swap like that is allowed, the rules are unclear (I've emailed them for clarification).<br /><br />
	That aside though, I wonder what that would be like - Looks ok in action here?

	Clutch pedal on my 34 is working about75mm from floor.
</p>

<p>
	Fluid level has not changed , Rubber boot on the slave is reasonably compact which indicates(to me )that the throwout/clutchplate and fork are probably ok.
</p>

<p>
	BUT,,when I check for free play at the clutch fork it seems to be pressure-ised. ..So I can force the slave piston back and release the throwout bearing .
</p>

<p>
	But when i release it , the cylinder pushes the fork straight back against the bearing.

<p>
	This morning when I started the car there was a distinct knocking noise which went away after about 15 seconds, when turning off the car it was back while the engine was just coming to a halt.
</p>

<p>
	This evening I made an effort to try to identify where it was coming from, and remembered having read about the throw-out/release bearing could cause noise, having done some research my problem might be due to the pilot bearing. The noise goes away completely the clutch pedal is pressed and returns when it's depressed.
</p>

<p>
	A noise example is available below (clear noise at 00:17-&gt;), does it sound familiar to anyone? I'm going to replace the clutch and flywheel as the same time as attending to this but was curious if someone would be familiar with the issue and how much work is involved.

	Hey all
</p>

<p>
	I have a 34 sedan auto. I was going to swap it to a manual but I dont mind having an auto daily.
</p>

<p>
	I am going to get a shift kit put in but i need to use the car still, so will be buying a spare gearbox to do it to in the mean time.
</p>

<p>
	My question is, is there any other boxs that have at least 5 gears that will fit the neo 25det? That can take around 300kws? And can be used with the steering wheel controls?
</p>

<p>
	Being a daily and cruise it on the highway just feels it needs an extra gear or two

<p>
	Hey guys,
</p>

<p>
	Nearing the final stages of stripping my R32GTR transmission before blasting and powder coat (then new gearbox).
</p>

<p>
	Mostof the hard work is done, but I’m stuck getting the casing separated from the gears (bell housing is already off).
</p>

<p>
	See pics below - basically the 2 metal pieces which attach to/form part of the shifting mech are stopping me from sliding the gears out in both directions as they’re hitting the housing.
</p>

<p>
	I can’t work out how to remove them so the gears can be removed. Anyone have experience doing this? It looks like there might be pins through them, but not sure if that’s unrelated.

<p>
	Hi peeps,
</p>

<p>
	I know this topic has been covered but i would like to hear an updated version of PAR as apparently they're different from years ago.
</p>

<p>
	So I've got a r33 gtr running about 550wkw with a stock gearbox and obviously ive broken the gbox. Ive got a spare gearbox ready to go but im planning on going for 650'ish kw after the gearbox change and putting another stock gearbox is going to be a waste of money and time so im planning on putting a PAR 1-4 synchro set in (1-3 straight cut 4th helical) since they're the best bang for buck and reason for synchro gbox because its a street car with very minimal drag strip use.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Ive been hearing and reading mixed things the PAR gear sets most bad things are based on 10 or so years ago so im assuming they werent best a while ago. just wondering if any people are running their gearsets now and what are they're like in terms of reliability with decent power?
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Also, who's the best person to take to for assembly in Melbourne?
</p>

<p>
	I've been searching for a clutch release bearing and stumbled upon many that is only for R33 GTST 93-96 and others that doesn't state any specific year which makes me believe that all R33's should have the same part number.
</p>

<p>
	Is that the case or is there specific bearings for 93-96 and then 96-98?

<p>
	Hi everyone! Merry Xmas,
</p>

<p>
	Just wanting to get some understanding before I decide in the near future what i would like to do to my transmission to help keep it going healthy. The vehicle is a 98 R34 25GTT NEO and stock even box.
</p>

<p>
	So the general consensus that i've noticed is during cold starts first to second below 3k RPM can feel like its crunching, not severe but noticeable that i've start to double clutching, yes on upshifting not down, its allowed smoother change with no bad crunch or feel. Once the vehicle has warmed up and assuming gearbox oil as well, shifting at that low RPM from first to second is heaps better but barely noticeable. Similar but consistently have fourth to fifth changing gears greater than roughly 3.5k RPM it does crunch and definitely feels like its your first time shifting and crunch the gears type of crunch.
</p>

<p>
	Now i've been going good with it so far and slowly not sure to decide on a rebuild or buy a new box, no decisions has been made im looking for power and that can be another story.
</p>

<p>
	Cheers
</p>

<p>
	I'm currently in the market for upgrading the clutch and figured I'll go with a 6-puck clutch to get a bit more bite as I'm primarily going drifting. The car currently produces 500nm and I'm standing between getting either an ACT clutch (https://www.autoextreme.co.uk/act-clutch-nissan-skyline-r32-r33-gtst-heavy-duty-race-sprung-6-puk-clutch.html) or a Xtreme KNI24007-1B. I'm currently running a fullface clutch so I'm aware about that there will be more bit with a 6-puck. However, I'm wondering about ACT vs. Xtreme, I've been trying Googling but due to their generic names it's not easy.
</p>

<p>
	As I'm changing the clutch I figured I might as well get a lightened flywheel and it's current standing between a Competition ultralight flywheel (steel, 5kg) or a Driftworks flywheel (chromoly, 8.5kg). 3.5kg is quite a difference but the materials are also different, which I was curious if anyone could provide additional insight to.
</p>

<p>
	Thanks in advance guys <span>:) </span>
