So, I reckon it's about time I post my little project up.

My R33 started life with me in September 2006, where it stayed with just the basics (Clutch, flywheel, FMIC, exhaust, mags, and boost). This lasted for around 10 months, before it headed to Adaptronic for an ECU install and tune... Around Oct/November of 07, I dropped a cylinder, both block and head went... This was around the time the "fail" entered...

Put forth an RB25/30, with an Ibiza of a turbo on a 6Boost split pulse manifold. This gave me all sorts of headaches, from needing a whole heap of piping etc all custom made, oil leaks, water leaks... Then a locked motor... It finally went... For 1200KM... Where it killed a head gasket... The head was ripped off, and low and behold, the motor I'd bought with an RB25 R32 head on it, turned out to be an RB20 R32 head...

Enter the new head, from R33 RB25, I had this head rebuilt, crack and pressure tested, and I put it back onto my car, along with an upgrade in injectors (880CC).

Did some mild street tuning to get it mobile, limped it from one house to another and proceeded to watch the engine bay go up in flames... Luckily the main damage was that awesome heat material stuff that "doesn't burn". I got the fire out, decided it was time to send it to the mechanics for him to do the finishing touches to tune it all up for me.

Once at the mechanics we found the oil drain had melted and split in a large way. Fixed this up, started the off boost tuning... Car developed a savage miss... And then my mechanic let the electrical smoke out and my coil packs stopped working. So out came the split fires and in went the yellow jackets.

Then the ECU decided to give us hell, which turned out that the ECU decided it no longer like the tuning software, a reflash of the ECU, an update in the tuning software, and it all went sweet as pie.

Down to the dyno tuners, part way through tuning it on the dyno (At 10PM at night) and the tuners laptop has a complete f**k out and stops working. Tuner calls his mate who owns the dyno, who luckily has EXACTLY the same laptop... Brings it down, swap harddrives (So we get the software and maps back etc). Onto tuning again...

Then the car throws the next hurdle at us... How it ramps onto boost is so savage we had to turn the gain down as much as possible on the dyno, and attempt to restrap it five times... The car keeps wheel spining and trying to climb off the dyno...

At 12:45AM in the morning, the tune is "complete" (Obviously no cold start done, and not a heap of time spent on all the idle loads etc). The final figure... 250RWKW, at around 6000RPM... Wheel spinning on the dyno.

From here, after a minor detour to find out the car lights 3rd gear up on the roll and make sure the tune was okay on the road, I get home around 1:45 - 2Am...

Climb out of bed at 5:30 AM, pick up my new Semis, meet with another SAU member and head for SAU's OP GP day... Proceed to have the SCARIEST drive of my life (First time really opening the car up) Sideways in 3rd gear under the bridge, over taking cars down the main straight wheel spinning...

The car had a few minor issues, such as an injector plug coming off causing a bad miss fire...

I made it into the 3rd session, was having an absolute ball chasing down 2 other skylines... When what happens? Oil surge... Big end bearing gone...

From here, we land the skyline with a used RB30E block, strap everything back onto it, fit a race seat and harness and head back to OPGP (On another day)... What do we find out here? We've broken a power steering pump in the first session, and the car breathes oil out the rockers... Park the car for the day after about 45 mins of driving, as it's just dropping oil (And we had a Radical doing roughly 1.08 seconds around the track there with us!). The car was also blowing alot of smoke when on boost, but this was first thought to be because of how much oil was breathing into the motor from the rockers...

Come home, do all I could to fix the breathing issue, catch cans, the works.

Head back to OP GP for one last crack at the place before it closes... Make it there, have to skip a few sessions to pull the waste gate springs, as the oil issue also appears to be a complete and utter lack of turbo oil seals... Have a ball driving the car NA and head home.

Fix up an oil drain, make up some plates to do "on the side of the road convert to N/A" and weld up a spare center and throw it in...

The car 2 weeks later heads out to Nirimba Tafe where half of SAU saw the absolute abuse that I give to my $600 RB30 motor... Flames, big bangs on the limiter, and second gear skids bashing the limiter... Whilst sliding backwards...

The motor decides it will only take all of this abuse for so long, and on the second last run developed a minor rattle... (I was having too much fun, and wanted to challenge Amy!) so I took it out for an easy run...

The car drove home, but now has a rattle which I'm yet to find out what it is...

Before the car comes back out, I'll have sussed out the rattle, fitted the new race seat for the passenger side, and added a 5 point quick release harness to the drivers seat and moved the current 4 point to the passengers seat.

As the car sits, there isn't much left of the interior from behind the front seats.

Parcel shelf gone, rear seats gone, the boot is "gone" there is about 1 or 2 trim pieces left in the boot. All sound deadening remains as I figure this isn't going to help me much... The centre console is gone, never to return, it has been replaced with a 1KG fire extinguisher.

The next mods after the passenger seat and harness will be the addition of aftermarket water temp, oil temp and oil pressure guages.

I also have some DC2 coil overs (Yeah, not much chop for racing, but for the price... They'll do)

Then comes the roll cage.

The car sits between 3 sets of tyres... My skid rims (Advan light weight RG2s), my road tyres for traversing to and from work shops on stock rims, and my semis on stock rims.

The aim of this car, was initially street... I got a taste of track work, and now the car isn't "legal" enough to drive often on the road, and as such, is only registered to get me to and from the track as I can't afford a trailer + tow car at the moment.

This car, by no means is pretty, the paint work is a mess with grease stains through it, scratches, the works. (Hey, it picked up Worst in Show at the SAU day recently!)

At the moment I'm tossing up between turning it into a proper N/A 3.0L motor and turning it high comp (As cheaply as possible), or rebuilding the current turbo (Which isn't suited to circuit work), or saving, and buying a new manifold + turbo and fitting it up.

I'd like to get into some form of racing with it, but I'll never be competitive in it... Not the cars fault, but the drivers...

Some pics:

In the beginning:

What I decided would run "well" on a 3.0L (I got it cheap with mani!)

Not long before the first install was complete (Yes it has been tidied somewhat!). See how that turbo fits so nicely?

The next day I drove to the track... And how it came home...

At Texi... The only way to do it... Staying on it...

I think I was the only one game enough to exit the Kangaroo swerve in 2nd gear under full boost... And it showed in the looks of the camera guys face as he ran for the grass

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4058/4318042569_008af5f0b0_b.jpg

I'll grab some interior shots later, but what you'd be looking at is a stripped back section, in the front an OMP TR-S seat and an OMP 4 point harness. Passenger side S2 seats.

I bought my R32 GTR in 2007. It has been both the bane of my existence and the love of my life, like any good GTR should.

I bought the car with a bottom end rebuild and R33 GTR Crank but stock head and pretty much everything else, except for the suspension, wheels and exhaust.

Oh and a shitty IMPUL ecu piggyback that was leaning out the engine (yay)

The old girl on carsales

Note the high-quality timber used to secure the battery.

After using it as a daily for a few years, I finally cracked it when I was commuting 3 hours a day in traffic with the GTR's famous air conditioning.

So it was settled, I would be turning it into a track car. It was around this time I had a short stay in Japan and saw this beautiful machine in the flesh at the Omori Factory:

My inspiration

And then, without even thinking, this happened

Shit.

So without an interior, there was no turning back. Somewhere in between me stripping the car and the state it is in today the car received new -7 turbos (after the ceramics shitting themselves after one lap at Wakefield) a Vipec ECU (tuned to 260atw on 17psi), a HiOctane Extended Sump, a massive radiator, oil cooler and catch can, and some other bits I can't remember. I remember paying for them though that's for sure.

Next step was to install a cage (or at least half of one)

Also tidied up the interior with a racing seat, door trims and some paint on the floors

Hey guys,

Thought it was time to share the progress from the last year of building a bare 33GTR shell into a drag car.

DTP motorsport has done all the car repairs and fabrication work. U can find more pics on there Facebook page of the build.

The Engine is by JHH racing and is Rb30-3.2L, Precision 8685, Hypertune, RIPS 4WD glide, Motec ect ect

I have a ton of pics so ill keep them coming as i can.

Started out in pretty average condition unfortunately but we got it straightened out.

I dont know where to start as im putting this up as a completed build, it took us 8 months and alot went on so see how it goes with the explanations.

I have been drifting for 5 years at state and national level in an r32 4 door with the odd grip lap thrown in there at RAC driving centre tuning days etc now looking to still drift for a bit of fun but will be doing some 'proper' track work and learning how to drive straight

Aim is to drive it have some fun, do different type of events and just pull it out when I want to drive it and pack it away when I dont. For now keep it at the level where if something breaks ie: engine or g/box I can fix and drive it again and not have it sitting around for 6 mths to rebuild a 20k engine. Concentrated on a solid balanced car and if anything would be concentrating on reducing the weight further rather than looking for too much more power

Apologise for crap photos but some pics are better than none and it just got finished Saturday arvo and I ran it this sunday gone

Basically I bought the car as a painted shell with the cage in it done by Racing dynamics, tubbed fronts and cut out boot with ATL fuel cell framed with chrome moly so good starting point

Then the build started:

Engine / driveline

Hi all - I'm a newby to the forum - my reason for joining is this -

I've purchased a hill climb project (1940's MG TC) that was fitted with a (I'm told) a second hand Aussie Nissan/Datsun turbo.

It was a well known car that had 100 rwhp, sounded great, and the throttle was like an on/off switch - so naturally it needs to live again...

The shed it was garaged in burnt down years ago and I recently purchased the car in bits, and the turbo apparently suffered a bit in the fire and was thrown out.

The previous owner has passed away and nobody could tell me what model turbo was fitted - except they remember it was a Nissan/Datsun.

The engine was 1250cc and the photo was taken in 1997 (might help date the turbo) - can anyone tell me what the turbo is, or might be, or steer me in the direction of finding out ?

	Thanks for any help.

	Derek

	Hello.

I bought myt skyline 4yrs ago. First I drove it thru winter (surprisingly good winter ride). At the spring stock turbo waste got stuck. Car was 3 months in the carage. I put kinuqawa bolt on turbo and cheap low mount exhaust manigold.

It was rest of the summer this way. Then I planned to do some little changes at the winter. But as many of you know things start to get bigger. I start building rollcage and strip whole car down.

When car was tripped it would be stubid not to do some things like stich weldin and sandblasting the body etc.

I also wanted to do some wisual mods and strip everything extra weight out from the body. Rollcage caused some changes also. Like stock heater system is not fitting anymore.

Rear subfame and diff bushes changed to aluminium. Rear and front subframes and stock controll arms got some extra strenght also.

Bash bars in front and back wore made from scratch.

Now car is going back to gether slowly and I hope to get it done before 2030 🤣

Here is some picks of it.
Hey guys,

Please bear with me as this is my first ever build thread and I haven't ever owned a Skyline before. I have had a BNR34 as my phone screen for years and it will eventually be in my posession. Anyway onto the build!

I bought the car and it has 170k on it And had been rather neglected over the past couple of years. So first this was removing the horrible body kit it has on it. Most is removed and im going to be going back to a stock bodykit.

Then after thinking for a while i decided that i was going to chase grip before i go to bump the power up. So i ordered a full set of front and rear lower control arms, front castor rods and rear toe arms and fitted it all up.

Probably time to show a few pics from my build now it's caged and been run. Won't bore people with pics of removing sound deadener and street car gear, they've been done before and this chassis is no different.

Specs

R33 series 1. Cage/seat/harness. A/C and heater system removed. Complete stock harness retained but re-routed.

30DET engine currently running high mounted Kinugawa turbo. Vipec v44 plug in ECU. Exedy clutch, standard box, 4.375 diff gears and Kaaz 1.5 way centre.

MCA Red suspension, adjustable rose jointed arms. Guards cut/flared.

I'll post up a few pics that might be of interest, once I can get the pics to load up.

well we agreed it was time to stop hijacking Russ' thread, so here is one of our own.

having built and raced standard gtrs for a couple of years (well couple of minutes track time), we figured it was time to go the other way and build something a bit more over the top. but of course our budget hasn't expanded so this is all being done on the dirt cheap (as usual). Hopefully under $20k over a couple of years - will see how we go on that. we've had it for about 18 months now but have only really got going this year

step 1. cheap shell that someone had to sell.

dead standard just a white car with a bit of paint.

The story. I am very late into the race car scene an was convinced by a mate to take his 33 to a track day and I was hooked from the first spool an had to have one. I've only ever owned one car (V8 67 fairlane I build 10 years ago with my dad) and as much as I loved the boost and chu chu, n/a V8 always made more sense for me.

I was selling cars at the time so over 6 months I bought/sold/traded my way to where I'm at now, rebuilding and reshelling an LS power r33. I initially bought this r33 from a guy in Ballarat

Which came with a free 33 rolling shell which I figured I could sell some parts off to buy more parts to eventually LS swap the silver car.

My mate half suggested leaving the shell behind but it turned out to be a wise decision to trailer it back to Wodonga. The trispoke wheel on the spare had proper semi slicks which I'm still getting use out of. The giant dual blade wing has since been swapped for a fibreglass flush mount boot etc.

I did a few track days in the silver 33, worked through a few issues it had and got a crash course in turbos. I then had an opportunity to buy/sell/trade up into a ready built 33 ls1 with two racing seats, serious roll cage, drift wing, cam, drift steering/suspension setup far cheaper than I could ever build myself

Well this is a thread I should have started long ago, although in my defence this build started about 6 years before this Build section was created.

Basically this thread will cover some history from when I imported and picked the car up from Powerplay Imports in 2003

Up to it's most recent event, Targa High Country which was 2 weeks ago.

And from here there is a fair bit planned over the next few months which is the reason I figured it was time to pull my finger out and start this thread

Hi all,

I am pleased to find that track car builds are now in the motorsport section. I have read a few over the weekend and have decided to make a build thread here as well. I will do this in a series of posts to make it easier for people to follow.

In short I have owned the car for a bout 4 years and will copy a my build thread from another forum to save time.

I bought the car about 4 years ago to use in the Speed Event Series, it got delayed by a dick head at a certain workshop. It is now proudly looked after by Andrew at Hyperdrive.

It was wingless when I got it but now has a white bootlid with GTR copy wing.

Mods so far are:

Standard RB25 (compression is a bit low on a few cylinders)

HKS 2835 Turbo

Sard 800cc injectors

Greddy Plenum

Yellow Jacket coil packs

3" turbo back exhaust

Wilkinson's Bilstein coilover

Cusco camber and caster rods

HKS boost controler

Nistune

Koyo radiator

High flowed standard exhaust manifold

P1 Racing rims running Toyo R888

Roll Cage Thanks to Tom at Racing Dynamics

Oil Cooler and remote oil filter kit

unknown brand FMIC

Oil Catch Can

Strut brace

Hicas Lock Kit

Fuel in tank Bosch 044

Velo Apex seat

There may be a bit more but I can't remember ATM.

Currently on Hyderdrive Dyno it is pushing 350 rwhp

My PB times at Wanneroo and Collie are:

Wanneroo Short: 57.209

Wanneroo Long: 1.06.6733

Collie: 51.3304

Anyway you are not here to listen tome dribble shit so onto the Pics:

When I first got it:

I've been meaning to do this for a long time so here it is...

My name is Russell and some people on here may already know me. I've been in the SAU scene for about 5 years now.

I bought my R32 in 2005 and it has gone through numerous small changes over the years.

It started off with a very good list of mods when it arrived from Japan

It had:

Cusco coil overs, 33 GTSt gearbox, spool diff and the engine had HKS 2530, PFC, GTR injectors, Tomei cams and all the usual bolt ons to make a respectable 200rwkw’s.

At the time for me this was huge power. I did lots of DECA’s with SAU Vic, a few drift days and a couple of track days.

I then added R34 GTT brakes, race seat and pretty much flogged the guts out of it. For a couple of years.

And……. then I met a bunch of guys that encouraged me to go for more power. This team consists of Matt (Femno), Tim (Drift SX), Campbell (REAMED), Dean (deanc), Mark (mark33gtst) and a few others. They all had big power so the idea and it rubbed off on me…

So to make the most out of my RB20 we boosted it to 1.56 bar ~23psi

This tune was done by ACE WORKSHOP + DYNO and the results speak for themselves. With what was a restrictive turbo setup we certainly got the most from it and it has held together for years!

The best times I got with that setup:

Sandown: 1:24.26

Winton: 1:34.98

Philip Island: 1:48.00

Eastern Creek (SL 2010) 1:47.32

Oran Park (SL 2009) 1:24.31

I also took out DECA overall champion in 2010

So Superlap has given me renewed vigor to finish this stupid car, I thought I might start a thread about it...

Hopefully it will give me that little bit more encouragement to work on it!

In January 2008, I flew to Perth and bought a 1994 R32 GTR from a forum member. Mostly standard, with dodgy old Tanabe suspension and some beautiful BBS wheels, it provided me with a very clean (actually TOO clean, in hindsight) platform for me to work with...

Hey guys

Thought It was finally time to create a build thread for my R33 gtst as its coming along nicely and not to far off getting it out on the track for the sau championships. Hopefully for round 2 29th March.

I brought the car back in July 2014 as a unregersted stocker for $4000 with the intention on just entering a few track days here and there but that quickly has changed and now the aim is to build it up for the WTAC to compete in the open class.

Since then I've been buying parts for it most weeks and slowly getting it closer to how I want it.

First was a set of BC ER coilovers 9kg front and 7kg rear.

Next the car was sent off to mcqueen motorsport for a full cage. Had a few hiccups there but eventually got the work done after a few months sitting at the shop. Decided on full weld in 6 point cage($2500). Also had to removed the sunroof to give me a little bit more headroom. Now left with a gapping hole in my roof which should be getting fixed in the coming weeks.

Thought i would post up some pics and progress of my latest build as i enjoy looking over everyone's on here and getting ideas from them as well.

Over the years my Dad and I have built plenty of cars however they have always been for rallying. This time we are doing something different. Being a lover of Skylines since I purchased my first 33 many years ago I had always wanted to have one as a track car. The time finally came up when my Dad wanted to start getting into some track days again. After using my S13 a few times which really isn't set up well for the tar we decided to look around for a dedicated track car.

Luckily for us an old friend of ours had purchased a 33 over 10 years ago from Japan had it complied and then unfortunately had someone side swipe it just 6 months later. The car was written off but he kept it as it had only sustained panel damage and he thought that he would turn it into a track car or repair it one day. Luckily for us he just never got around to it. In fact he had got as far as repairing the panel damage and that's it.

The car then proceeded to sit in a garage for 9 years without being touched. We talked to him first when we decided we really wanted to get a car for the circuit and by now he had realized he just was never going to do anything with it and let us take it away for a small fee.

This is what it looked like when we got it.

It was then time to get started on it. Our goal of this build really was a cheap track car nothing too fancy just a car we could grab a few times a year and go have some fun.

We started then with trying to get it to run to see just how much work the car really needed. It had been well looked after before it was stuck in the shed so we were hopeful it wouldn't be too bad.

First things first was fuel and unfortunately the filler/breather assy had been removed from the tank so we new it wasn't going to be pretty in there. Sure enough the fuel had gone very stale and the whole inside of the tank was a mess. We pulled the tank out (bitch of a job) and proceeded to clean it out.

We replaced all the lines and fitted a GTR fuel pump we got cheap (thanks SSS) so we could continue with getting it to run.

I dropped the oil/water and at the same time i removed the standard exhaust system (turbo back).

From owning a couple of Skylines over the years and having numerous friends with them i was lucky that i new i had some parts i could get my hands on for nothing which included a complete exhaust system.

With that fitted we grabbed a battery and turned the key. I couldn't believe it when it fired up first go and sat there running perfectly.

The build could really get started now.

I started the fun job of removing most of the interior including the lovely rat shit everywhere.....

Next step was a half cage mainly to add some safety to the car plus make a seat mount as well.

Once that was complete we got the paint done so it was all 1 colour again.

At the same time i got my old 17inch 34 GTT rims and painted them black ready to for some tyres. A friend of mine owns Tyres Plus Windsor so he hooked me up with some Khumo ESCTA semi slick tyres he had lying around.

We also got the car wheel aligned and confirmed everything was straight underneath the car. Hicas was also removed at this time.

Next upgrade was fitting a Oil cooler and remote mounting the oil filter.

With all that done it was time to test the car out at the track just to give us an idea of how it all went pretty much in standard form before we spend any money on the car.

Before hitting the track i also serviced the calipers and fitted some spare A1RM pads i had from the Silvia.

I only got the 1 session in the car as i had a wedding to attend but Dad put it through its paces and it ended up with about an hour of track time at SMSP last week and it performed perfectly.

Best time i could manage on my 5 laps was a 2:05:10, not really sure how that compares but id never driven there and was having fun trying to keep up with a 370Z that was there.

Things noted was some slight brake shudder coming from the front brakes under very heavy braking and the fact it handled well like a boat as they say haha.

Next step now is it will be getting some MCA reds an R34 Intercooler i have lying around and a catch can. Next event is Wafefield park at the end of May to see how it feels with those upgrades.

I'm also looking to change out the front bar and fit some side skirts and better rear wing. No power mods for the moment i really want to get back into driving and concentrate on making the most of the corners not just letting her rip down the straights to make up time.

Well the time has finally come where I had to decide on what to do with our GTS-T. We have owned it for 10 years now,,,we don't really drive it much anymore and I'll be stuffed if I'm selling a perfectly good straight car to some pimply just got his turbo licenced kid for 10 grand. No way not happening. My other little problem is the wifey Melinda,,,I have to somehow ween her off loving the thing. So my plan so far is to slowly make it rude and obnoxious. Step one was the diff, nothing beats the clunk of a Nismo locker. Step two were the wheels,,,she just hates the look of rivets or bolts holding the centres together. Step three will be the semi slick,,,again she hates the road noise they make. Next will be removing all the luxury items one by one. The rear wiper was an easy remove,,,pissed her off straight away.

AASA have really opened the door to these cars,,,they make building one and racing it so much easier. I would never ever had entertained the thought of this without them. CAMS are so far behind the times it's a joke. Realistically I would have to build a sports sedan or improved production car which would be money for no fun at all. So I'm going to start building it loosely around tarmac rally specs with different mods for track days,,,rub racing,,,supersprints and hillclimbs but really with an eye on targa.

While the Radical is great fun to drive and it will be staying in our household for a while yet,,,I really miss driving a tin-top. Duncan,,,you have a lot to answer for. Actually it's wasn't so much doing tons of laps in your GTR but more letting me loose in Kel's 350Z and me doing laps at Oran Parks last weekend in our Skyline that got me. There's something about wrestling a fat over weight car that I enjoy.

So we basically start with a car that has very minimal mods,,,it has never had a boost increase by the way.

1/ Whiteline adjustable sway bars front and rear,,,they will be staying.

2/ FMIC

3/ Wow an apexi panel filter

4/ 5 Zigen cat back,,,no name dump pipe and a high flow cat

5/ Urethane radius rod bushes

6/ Cusco brake master cylinder stopper

7/ Front and rear strut braces

8/ DBA Front drilled/slotted discs and rear slotted discs.

Cool mods indeed.

So now it's time to open my very tight arse wallet and start buying stuff.

It must be said right here and now that I'm not a massive fan of Japanese and Chinese aftermarket parts.

Yes some will have to find their way onto the car but primarily it will be euro and local stuff.

I'm not going to touch the engine or any drive line stuff until the suspension,,,roll cage and auxiliary stuff is on the car and sorted properly.

Yes I know everyone wants 400 kilowasps but quite frankly that isn't going to happen. Somewhere around 280-320 would be much more to my liking. I'm more interested in reliaility/midrange and as much torque as possible.

I have already opened the said wallet and so far I have

1/ Re-valved Bilstein height adjustable shock running Eiback spring with helpers. Nice bit of kit.

2/ DBA front slotted discs,,,my better judgement says I shouldn't run my drilled and slotted used ones which is interesting. As we know they should crack but after 3 track days they are still fine. Go figure.Gone anyway.

3/ Nismo front lower control arms and a full set for the rear.

4/ Chinese rose jointed radius arms. They can stay for testing and then an upgrade.

5/ Chinese engine oil cooler with filter relocation kit. Again testing and some of it can stay.

Thats enough typing for now.

Cheers

Neil.

Hey all.
Been a while since I've been on here but I thought I'd make a build thread for my latest build.
I never kept memories of building my last drift car so I'll just do this one.

Currently in the process of throwing a LSA crate motor from Holden into a R32 gtst.

I have a L98 and both T56 and TR6060 on hand also so not sure which box to go with just yet.

I'll be making having mounts and exhaust done custom and will be using the GM engine controller kit and accessory drive kit.

Plans currently for the common oil starvation issue with the LS series in high G forces are Moroso baffled and trapdoor sump and 4L accusump.

Don't have many photos for now as everything is in pieces.

Will update as things progress.

Well i've been told to make a build thread by damo (djrift)

I've been club racing my R32 GT-R for the past 3 years, and got it to the point where the car was too fast for club racing. It's a neat road car, so I didn't want to buture it with a cage and what not, and more to the point I don't have wads of cash to throw at it.

So after talking to some people before Targa I decided to get a gtst to race in the Tas Super Series. Then I cracked the shits after Targa (for more reasons than the crashes, but I won't go into that), and decided to build it in line with the Targa rules, with the plan to set the car up, and learn it in the Tas Super Series next year, and enter Targa in 2011.

I was lucky enough to find a car locally with no engine and gearbox, the chassis rails are straight as, and the only rust was under the rear pods. The guy was going to build it into a race car, but decided after pulling it into 1000 peices that he wanted to get rid of it. So a few weeks ago Dad, Damo and I went and picked the car up. We filled my car, Dads car, and the skyline with the parts. Damo said he was keen to help, so we'll be spending the next 6 months building it

Got the car to Dad's and put it in his back yard, while he cleared a hole in the garrage. While he did that i got a cheap GT-R bonnet, front bar, boot, and rear wing. And sold the gtst bonnt off.

Where to start....

Well cutting a long story short. Younger brother comes home one day and says he is buying an R33 GTST.

So as competitive as brothers are, I had to buy one as well.

Skyline No 1.

The idea for this car was something fun to drive around on the weekend, hit up a couple of track days here and there.

Yeh well that didn't last long at all.

First DECA was hooked, must do more track days.

Started off with a japspec cat back, that is it. Then after a couple of track days realizing it's got to be better than this.

It became.

- fmic

- pfc

- front/dump

- cat

- greddy type s coilovers

- whiteline swaybars

- seat, harness bar and harness

- radiator, oil cooler

- diff

- better tyres (RSR's)

After that and with 190rwkw I though the thing was a rocket and I'd never have to touch it again...well.
