  9. Too many variables to give a straight answer on that, but a long drawbar will generally be much more stable and much easier to reverse. If you're getting one made, make sure that the manufacturer is into racing / rallying etc, and actually uses the trailers. They will have a much better understanding of what makes a good trailer. My trailer was built by Chris Wedding (Trailers by Chris) who has been rallying for a long time, and through motorsport has been involved in towing a lot of cars. He has a very good knowledge of what works and what doesn't, and makes a brilliant trailer. I believe e's since sold the business, so not sure what their quality is like now. Don't be tempted by cheap ebay specials. My last one was a cheap "fixer upper" which was horrible. After spending over a grand and countless hours rebuilding everything, it was still a shitbox (albeit with a bling paintjob and LED lights). Was glad to see it go and buy a proper trailer. Oh, another thing (just my personal opinion here). Never loan your trailer out. Every time I loaned by old trailer it came back needing money spent on it, or some incidental damage. Each time the borrower said "ÿeh sorry bout that - didn't realise I forgot to [insert stupid omission here]". Now I have a nice new trailer, it only gets used by me. Call me selfish, but until people start treating my stuff the way I do, they're not getting their hands on my trailer. If you want to tow an R34, the trailer will need to be rated to over 2 tonne gross (unless you get an uber light one, but trailers are generally going to weigh 500kg plus). If the total weight (trailer plus load) goes over 2 tonnes, then you need brakes on all 4 wheels, and a break away system to apply brakes in the event the trailer becomes detached from the towing vehicle. Do some research on this (local transport department - building light trailers etc.)

  10. Didnt get much done this weekend, or pics for that matter. The new battery is in, and starts the car just as well as the old one. just not sure how many starts i get Also removed 3kg of battery cable, 23kg total! dad made a bit of extra chassis inside the cabin to support where the rail was chopped for the exhaust. he went a bit overkill but thats dads for ya lol filled in the hole in the boot where the spare wheel well was. "headlights" are fitted up, just need to be wraped. Looks pretty good i reckon

  13. I don't think anyone is questioning whether it can be done because it has been many times over. I think the point we're trying to make is that he should go the safe approach make some decent power and have a bit of fun and THEN when he has the money ready for a rebuild turn up the boost and see how long before she goes bang. Might surprise him and run forever in which case he'll be up $10k+ but it could die 2 days later and then he's up for a rebuild. Imagine how happy he would be if he did that straight off the bat and it blows and can't afford the rebuild for 6 months. I'm sure "but the guys on SAU said it should be right" would be said once or twice.

  16. I think Pats intentions are good and he believes what he says, and without being offensive, its guys like Pat that forced me out of gyms in the 90's and had me training at home. Now that I have PTC gyms around, information like Pats doesnt effect anyone, because everyone in there is trying to get stronger, not worry where their chin is. Far too many who lifted too little are trying to tell far to many who lifted a lot how to do things. I never tell a "bodybuilder" how to lift unless he ASKS me. I'll get Martin to contact you for some tips on how he can do better at his SPORT, Pat. Until he does though, I'll keep coaching my powerlifters to more titles and world records, if its okay with you.

Choices are... 1) Man up > face the consequences 2) Hire a lawyer to mitigate the suspension 3) Tourette's Syndrome sufferer missing medication that morning and had a spasm in the right foot 4) Getting a Victorian fine in the mail to a SA address > don't open the window envelope > check any window envelope to see if there are the words "Traffic" or "Infringement" and sending it back to sender

  27. Well im now the proud owner of an RS4 factory manual and very happy. time to start the big clean up before i get down to making it how i like it. better look after is as it has a confirmed 74000km on the clock and almost no mods appart from a dump back exhaust and cheap mags. front needs some love, fading lights with condensation annoys the absolute hell out of me, almost as much as having a dirty windscreen. got the elbow grease out and threw in some 6000k philips xennons. gonna start replacing everything with LEDs as per usual. love the led look. still undecided as for what to do with the yellow foggies.....more pondering needed. so much better looking when they're actually clear. the wheels will go but the height is the propper issue. needs coilovers stat the 34 is getting jealous the interior needs a damn good clean, got a good upholstery cleaner and tackeled the passenger seat, it is a real shame that people dont keep ontop of this shit. oh well. more elbow grease has been employed. shitty cleaner comparing the clean passenger to the shitty drivers! random as f**k sticker i think cars drive better when they're clean? ok that was my weekend, gotta do soo much more. thanks for listening

  28. 20k? Man, you can import a PNM35 with all the bells and whistles for that. Whilst Northshore do the best compliance (check their install of anchor points compared to everyone else), I would import via Kris @ Iron Chef again without hesitation (even though Northshore refused to comply my PNM35 *hrmph*). 100,000kms? Why look for some with such "high" mileage? Alex pretty much answered your question though. 100,000kms is not really a number you need to worry about with PM35's unless they have not been maintained properly.

  34. Hey there Rio. The price will depend on where you are in Aust, the kms, year, and whether you want an auto or 5 speed. Nearly everyone that enquires about these wants a 5 speed manual coupe for which prices start from the low teens complied for something decent. If you want low kms and black then the price can be fairly expensive as that's the most popular spec for the R34 coupe. Feel free to have a look at what's available plus the last 250 auction results for the model of interest using our Free auction alerts trial which will email you vehicles daily: http://prestigemotorsport.com.au/usearch.php Importing is quite straightforward if you seek help from someone experienced, any good broker can help you out and will usually save you money by sourcing a better car at a lower price and with less risk than if you try to work it all out for yourself the first time. If you need anything at all just call or email anytime. 36. Finished facing the manifold the other day so decided tonight to head over and bolt everything up. Didn't get a great deal done apart from tightening up some of the suspension components in the front end and getting the exhaust side together. Not sure about the 20's but I had to take the cam cover off to get the heat shield on . As for the position of the gate its going to be a tight fit down there with a 3 inch dump with the low mounted turbo. The only way I can see it been out of the way and able to work is in a picture below, but sitting up higher and not so close to the block might do the trick. Then Im thinking I might have the pipe off the gate heading out towards the passenger side. Found a full set of front and rear 5 stud hubs off a z31 at a local z wrecking yard yesterday witch surprised me as I was calling around every yard with no luck, and thought I would never find a set. When he said he had a car there that he was unsure about wrecking or not I almost lost it, I wasn't holding my breath on how much he was going to charge as I know these are rare as rocking horse shit. Lets just say even though he is a Z wrecker and admitted they were pretty rare he didn't ask as much as I was first thinking. Got to love the old interest free work account. Happy as Larry!!
