  1. Is it just me or does anyone else think that looks shit ?

  2. I don't like it (the mesh intake). Mesh has a much higher blockage fraction than you would think. Causes a pressure drop, but doesn't actually do any air cleaning worth a knob of goat shit. Better to do it properly and get someone to make you a carbon tube to site a proper airbox/pod on the end of. There's always someone nearby who knows how to lay up carbon. My sister-in-law does it (as an example of what you might consider to be an unlikely person).

  4. I could just imagine all the hard work and $$$ that was put into It only to see it get wrapped around a pole this is not the sorta car you hand over to an inexperienced driver

  6. I would suggest that it is for some additional lights added to the front of the car intended to splash a lot of light on closeup objects that you're about to run over because you shouldn't be driving a car. Where "you" refers to the person who fitted the lights.

  9. It's an acquired taste for sure. I really like it but I think it's just because when I look at it, all I see is how much time and effort goes into it.

  10. surely someones got a nice minty carbon one on a single rb26 we can take a look at. carbon 4 inch tube witha carbon box would be spicy.

  12. Ignore all the other crap and just focus on the intake pipe & cover.. most Aussie fabricators have this template ready to go.

  13. Yep that mesh is pretty much the same as just blocking off 1/3 of the intake area

  14. Better than having the car chopped in half with people in it (R.I.P. EVLR34)

  15. Ok no problem. Our ratios are: Constant 1,411 24/17 Gears (ratios including constant recalculation): 1. 2,62 26/14t 2. 1,72 22/18t 3. 1,27 18/20t 4. direct 1:1 5. 0,856 17/28t All our gears and shafts are made from billet steel with carburising and heating process. Selector forks are also made from billet steel with tig welded shifting part (pin lock inside just to be safe ) with nitriding process on the end. Constant and 5th gear are specialy machined to be more quiet. We have now more than 5pcs in stock so no waiting for production. We are always keeping around 5 pcs of every part of our dogbox kit in stock for fast delivery to customer in case of problem (short time before the race etc). Is this enough?

  16. No it won't, I'm sure they use a different tooth count and angle on the helical input with PAR and PPG synchro gearsets. It's all to do with the counter shaft gear which OS giken matches to the standard Nissan profile. You can use a stock Nissan input on an OS gearset, or an OS reinforced input on a stock box (not that you ever would). Also be careful with ''reinforced input shaft", as OS giken do a reinforced input shaft in both standard Nissan 24 spline and GM 26 spline. PM me if you want to know more, but an OS giken uprated shaft even in 26 spline is still much smaller before the spline on the shaft area, than say a PPG or PAR 26 spline input shaft is. You have a PAR gearset, you need a PAR 26 spline input shaft.

  17. This has been resolved by rotating the stator/casing presumably to its original location. No idea why or how this would cause what was happening but it's fixed.

  18. Hi mate I’m just about to do this to my r32 using the 08 d22 nav box (yd25ddti box)with an r32 rb26 bell housing gearbox was $900 and the bell housing was $400. But it is shorter by about 30mm so driveshaft needs some work but for a $4500 gearbox it’s good money spent to get a big box and something that is just over 12 years old. 20det boxes are over priced for used 30year old parts but will let you now how it all goes as I’m doing it.

  19. And more updates, I was initially going to run just normal rubber air hose behind the walls, but sitting there having a beer or 10, I thought if it blows or starts leaking I would have to pull the wall paneling out to fix it. So I thought screw that, off to Bunnings to buy copper pipe and fitting, as well as quick release airline couplers. I couldn’t find any adapters to fit the couplers to the plumbing fittings so I used some spare water temp sender adapters, stuck then in the lathe and tap my own larger threads. Just to be sure I soldered all the buggers together. All soldered and mounted, so now the real test is turn the compressor on, spray water on all the joints and see if I had any leaks, well bugger me 3 hours later the compressor cuts in, I can still solder properly. Stoked. Now if you are wondering where my hoses go to, I’ll explain, compressor to water trap/regulator, one hose goes to the sand blaster, disconnect it and the other connects to the copper pipe which terminates close to the hose reel, with another water trap/regulator so both cars can get clean air. The other hose between the cars disconnects from the compressor and connects my nitrogen bottle to the hose reel. Simple. The other thing I thought prudent was to not run wood wall paneling behind the grinders as that would just stuff the paneling over time, so out with a sheet of aluminium checker plate and install that instead. Fun times. That's way enough for now. Cheers and hope you like it all. Neil

  20. Just thought I'd drop back in and let you know the story. I ended up taking this thing for another tune a while after this post. The tuner knew I had bugger all knowledge on dyno tuning, let alone turbo cars in general. They wound it up to 28psi and it was fun... lost my licence for a long time because external gate plus t04e and 28psi I couldn't help myself. Ended up selling it for 5000 and the parts for 4000 so I broke even. Now own 50th anniversary G6E turbo and just installed a massive front mount kit from process west... mission to fit ? most work ive done on my own car since the skyline.
