  1. Supply and demand Murray. I have the supply which I may or may not use, and I demand a good price, for it to ever leave my sight. LOL. There's only about 80 manual versions in the world, minus those completely destroyed by fires etc. So in a few years when they are really hard to come by I won't be surprised to see them go for more than 5k. But in all seriousness, I really would prefer to install it in my R34, with all blue LED back-lights. Should look nice in blue, with the red digital speedometer. My car has the Power FC computer in it, so install should not be too hard I hope. (Crosses Fingers, Legs, Arms and Eyes). LOL Seeya on the road people. Pathos.
  2. Thanks for the info. Might come in handy for installing mine. I have a wiring loom with it, and the cable for the torque and shift lights, I just need to get around to having it installed. But not in a hurry. If anyone wants to make me a 5k offer I may consider selling it. Lets face it, they are not making any more of them. The digital speedo goes up to 400km/h apparently. Very interesting. The pic below is from a blogspot web page about his R34. But mine looks the same. This site just doesn't let me link to my pics, so I linked to his one instead. He did a good job getting it working, maybe it wouldn't hurt to ask him a few questions. http://er34.blogspot.com.au/2013/10/tommy-kaira-25r-digital-meter-cluster.html#comment-form Pathos.
  3. She's really coming along nicely. I badly want to see this smoke so many others that have no idea what's in it, at the drag strip. Keep up the excellent work man, Pathos.
  4. I love old Torana's and Skylines so what's not to like here. So this will definitely be interesting once complete, to see how it handles. It ought to be a farking hoot to drive whether it handles like a Skyline or not, but I wouldn't be surprised if you find it holds the road in corners pretty good, with a nice drift every now and then when you want it. I wish I had your skills to bring back cars from the dead. I see plenty here in tas that need love and attention, but they just sit there rusting away.
  5. WOW so much cool stuff on that site. Gonna get one of their GPS in car dual camera drive recorders for sure when I can afford it, and the head units are pretty good to. But even though I like the idea of an Android PC the one with an OBDN Port is definitely something I want. If they make one with Android and OBDN port by the time I need it, then that would be the go. Thanks again Chris, great site. Pathos.
  6. I kinda figured the Head Unit would have to go. But at least this car lets me have a double din unit. With the Falcon I was limited to a single din unit, but it's not too bad. I'm gonna miss the bluetooth link to my phone until I replace the one in the Skyline after I sell it. I was thinking it might be possible to remove the 3 guages on the top of the A/C Unit with a combo Double Din unit PC and Screen setup, that could double as a G Meter and Audio Visual Media Center. It would flip up from a screen down orientation when off. Nice and neat then, and less of a look at me, while it's parked. But it will depend on my budget for doing stuff. If anyone has done this kind of thing before it would be cool to see some photo's of the final look and a features list. Thanks for your help, Pathos.
  7. Hi guys & gals, I just picked up my R34 a few days ago, and other than the car stereo and not having a spare key I'm happy as. It has a nice looking front bar, and blacked out reverse lights, which looks nice. I'll stick some pics up on cardomain soon, once I get round to it. What I need to know, is if there is a way to replace the head unit with a micro computer that can run 4 dvr cameras, and play music cd's, dvd's, MP3's, Bluetooth/WiFi hookup to my iPhone, and use the existing head units gps and tv tuner gear. So as to save on wiring in the car. It would be nice to watch TV on something with a decent size monitor, say the size of an iPad. The current unit is a Fujitsu Eclipse AVN 8802D with space imaging by Ikonos. It's no good for radio as the frequency bands are 76 to 90, and doesn't even pick up an FM transmitter on the right frequency. I was transmitting on 88.8MHz and it found it on 80.3MHz. So something is definitely wrong there. I also don't like the way the GPS won't work without the GPS DVD in it, which is no good to me as it is for Japan not Tasmania. I want a net aware unit that can get live updates from the web and link up to my home WiFi when at home for updates etc, or use my iPhone as a WiFi hotspot when I am out. I will also be replacing the Mongoose immobiliser system with a Mongoose one that includes a turbo timer to help prevent turbo failures, but if this could be hooked into the PC letting me start it remotely to warm it up of a day of driving, while still locked and secure, that would be awesome. Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I probably won't be able to upgrade it for a while, so if anyone has an ISO of the Australian version of the GPS maps I am willing to see if that at least helps until I replace it. Thanks, Pathos. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/4023309/1998-nissan-skyline/
  8. If you have a friend with spare speakers lying around, chuck them in for a day to see if it still does it. It might just be a crap set of speakers. Every manufacturer can have faulty gear from time to time. Most modern electronic gear will either fail in the first 2 weeks, or go for more than 2 years no problems. I hope this helps.
