So this morning I topped up the coolant only to find that the banjo bolts on the turbo weren't tight enough and coolant starting leaking from them. Tightened them up to stop the leak.
But now the car seems to be overheating, or my cheap ass water temp gauge has crapped itself Just at idle after a couple minutes the water is up around 80-90 degrees.
The gauge doesn't seem to drop below 70 degrees, even when the coolant is ambient. But when the gauge is up around 90 the water feels like it would be around that temperature.. My thoughts are maybe there's air in the cooling system. Tried to bleed it this morning but am unsure if its successful or not.
Found a couple fairly loose intake pipes but as far as I know there is no correlation between boost leaks and overheating?
Will have to continue tackling things later as I am heading down the coast tomorrow morning for the long weekend with some mates. Might think about completely flushing the cooling system and starting again
