  3. Hey guys did a pressure test on the intake and I have a blown plenum gasket  the supplier I bought it off has a start up warranty on the motor the fact that this was already present has asked for a quote to fix and get the motor running. Lesson: warranty is awesome

  6. Yeah we fixed the timing its spot on now ive just made a pressure test unit at work lol bout to head home to have a go. Will let you know how I go
  7. Hey guys I have a problem. Replaced a blown rb20det with another. The new motor arrived with the timing out by 4 teeth. We re did the timing and got it running. But it is idleling rough as guts and the motor will die without throttle. If I give the throttle a tap it jumps up but then will go out of control. Up to 3 Grand then slowly comes back down. I have checked afm iac and cold start valve by unplugging them to see if I get a response. Which I do. I have power and signal going to all injectors and coil packs. All cylinders fire. The ecu has a ewad out of 55 which is no faults. Im out of ideas. Will do a boost leak test tomorrow with soapy water. SO CHEAP! Thanks in advance guys
  8. Hey guysmoved to mackay 3 yrs ago bought a r32 gtst with a blown motor. Replaced motor but got mega issues. In the deep end for sure now but love the car cant wait to drive it when its going
  9. Oh and when I check the timing its not lining up and when I adjusted the cas it wont amooth out and I get some tiny back fire in the intake manifold

  11. What brand of gasket is recommended for an RB20DET
  12. Nah its from a half cut car import mob offering start up warranty only. I dont really care about how to do a comp test coz I do know how to do it. Im wondering what are the pros and cons of having a high compression motor
  13. Def 200 all round with snap on gauge and warmed engine. With researsh this proves the comp ratio therefor is 10:1. As for the knob who said the comp is not relayed to the ratio. Actually write out the equation.
