Because I was bored at home with manflu and brain wasn't working very well - my bad! Forgot I even posted that. There is clearly an issue that isn't the exhaust manifold causing it.

That is a heck of a lot of power haha. Surprised you went that big if you are "only" going for 25psi though, probably could have done that with a 6466

Any RB30 with typical mods you would do to a RB26 (built motor) will happily spin to 8000rpm - one with your turbos may fall over in the 7000rpm range because it is a bigger motor and those turbos are small for it, not because it can't... you just need to feed it more air The sound stuff is just a single guy trolling, RB30s do sound different... some might say they sound BETTER, they definitely don't sound bad.... at all. The concerns people have about big torque breaking transmission stuff is also bollux - if you are REALLY worried you can limit peak torque by dropping boost back... the motor will give the same torque delivery as an RB26 with less boost, so less overall strain on the system but still better off-boost torque and better driveability, and no extra wear on the transmission. The bonus about the extra displacement is you can do everything equal or better - but you can use it how you want, its just that most people want to go for the bigger overall torque/power numbers you can make. If you want what you had with the RB26 but more driveable, just hold back on boost

Here's a clip of that Supra with the Super99 HTZ doing an 8.95 @ 152mph off the foot brake with a Powerglide (no trans brake use allowed in the street class it was racing in). It has since done an 8.75 using the transbrake at an event the following weekend - trap speeds aren't much higher, but it is out of gear in the top end so needs a higher final drive to knock the trap speeds up now. Probably worth mentioning the car races on radials too, apparently. I remember being told a Supra would never go sub 9s with a T3 turbo - I guess they may have been right, this Supra pretty much skipped the 9s and went straight into the 8s

I wasn't referring to the 250kw thing specifically - so much as how ridiculous comparing a big turbo high octane combination with a small turbo pump gas setup... there is an issue there, but mentioning a 400+kw ethanol setup is probably not being helpful for perspective.

E85 is a hell of a thing. Can't compare a car which is tuned on petrol with one which is tuned on ethanol - the nastiness which is the stock manifold gets covered up a bit if using a very knock resistant fuel.

Not mentioning what fuel and/or injection makes it hard to know what to make of those results

The only Kando hybrid I know of is a 20G on a T3 turbine wheel in Nissan (based?) housings - bit of a weird combo imho, and 20G probably never going to justify itself in this kind of setup. 16G would have given this power!

250kw+ PULP is pretty ambitious really - as you can probably tell by "only" making 271kw using E70 etc. Agreed, HTA would be the way to go if you were in that position but having a 52trim there and knowing you won't be looking for insane power means there is no justification in a big change - any ETA for this? -

Looking forward to seeing how it goes, and how you find it. There is no way it is going to have the low down punch of the GT-RS - however it should be quite liveable, considering a 56T is. Just a different kind of beast, and one which is much nicer suited to the engine it is on. -

^ agree totally, hence not adding anything to this thread. Well that and I don't really feel compelled to discuss my tuning ideas online and out of context. Seems like there should be more threads actually on the topic of actual engine tuning as it seems to drift in/off topic on a few threads here, and there are clearly a few people interested and indulgent in it. It's quite interesting to see how far different some people are doing things to how I am, too.

Wow, 400kw - EASILY? Any links to results up around there? At this stage I do suspect the EFR7670 and HTA3076 are likely to be the best things to put on an RB25.... just an EFR7670 is not yet proven, so looking forward to seeing how yours goes. -
Still a bit dark about travelling >2000km to Australia to meet some of your clowns and after spending weeks helping deciding on a turbo I never got to hear cam noise or see this thing in the flesh

Silly me - updated the wrong thread, I was meant to post this here A Supra owner in the US has upgraded from their old Borg Warner S467 T4 turbo to a T3 flanged FP Super99HTZ and picked up 15% more power with a huge increase in spool - they run a Powerglide and usually use a transbrake however they are testing for an event this weekend where the class they will be in doesn't allow transbrakes, so they did testing using a foot brake starting at low boost to see how much they could hold back with the foot brake and have already laid down a 8.97 @ 151mph... I suspect when they get to a meet they can use the transbrake and wind up the boost a few eyebrows will be raised - not that running 8s on a T3 based turbo with a Supra isn't pretty unreal as it is! Here's a dyno vid (unfortunately they only uploaded to FB): https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=194348620749465&set=vb.173984302785897&type=2&theater Dyno numbers will be a bit messed up due to the loose Powerglide - but a Supra running 8s at >150mph is going to be making north of 900hp to start with, it isn't running NOS and it did it off the foot brake with more boost in it.... so safe to say that it's already a pretty stout result
