  1. Its a 9 second street car - that's definitely more than just a dyno queen, mid 9s is serious business even if it isn't as quick as it could be.
  2. Making power and using it are two different challenges and not likely to be to do with the tune 160mph is a hell of a trap speed!
  3. Can't wait to see this thing in the flesh - already counting down the days!
  4. Forced Performance and Precision are both awesome options, not just Precision. They will both provide turbos which make the T04Z and T51R seem like the previous generation tech they are. If you want something in the T04Z to T51R range then this evil bastard would not disappoint : http://store.forcedperformance.net/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=FP&Product_Code=NTGT3794HTA&Category_Code=Turbo-FP
  5. Heard a decent Borg Warner? Even an HTA3794?
  6. The T04Z doesn't rate that great against most range Precision and HTA turbos in power and certainly not response. Precision and FP HTA turbos are there to make T51R power with much better response, or go well north of their power potential if you so require. Like well well past anything HKS make. All you are doing by not thinking or researching is spending more money for less and saving a bit of time. All good if you are happy with that
  7. Despite all the advice you have chosen to decide between two out dated over priced units not even being discussed so clearly you are in your own world and will do whatever anyway. Good luck, let us know what you get and how it goes.
  8. Sounds like a potent setup in the making, look forward to seeing how the HTA3073 goes... Should be very responsive! Would love to play with Haltech sometime, sounds like they are good products but G4 Link dominate here... For good reasons, but not necessarily that they are the best
  9. Probably just CBF. Or in the case of HKS authorised tuners - because they have nearly no competition so can keep people tied to them
  10. Ahh that's good to know Nino's still had more in it, I found it strange it fell short of the GTR (and others) that have run that turbo. Still a scary amount of power, I've been in Silvias with half that and they've been pretty damn rapid! So any of these dyno plots likely to be available to nosy at?
  11. Awesome - I am sure you'll keep us updated
  12. Yeah, me too. My RB based dream build is pretty much an R33 GTR with an RB30/26 and a TS 3794HTA on the side of it - the concept seems like good thing I get probably a little too happy just thinking about it hahaha You get that, because of a reason I can't recall
  13. Lol I was clearly addressing his question regarding warming up the MTs Besides, if you have the power to run 120mph+ on road tyres with a RWD then you are clearly just there for the burnouts! Oh wait, 114mph... nvm
  14. Lol I don't mean keep in it for ages Just enough to get a launch off your burnout then get off it again before you end up in a tree/grandstand/half way up the dragstrip
  15. I found tyre pressure had more of an effect than length of burnout for myself. When doing a burnout I'd just keep it going until the rears started really pushing the car forward, or if I've head a couple of seconds of solid smoke - whichever came first... then slowly let it creep then release the brake and just nail the throttle because it's fun and you get a bit of a hint of what kind of hook up you may get when you launch, to decide how hard to feed it to it off the line.
  16. Because going straight to a 94HTA might be too much of a jump in one shot?
  17. Sounds to me like you need an HTA3582 so you can hold 28psi to redline. I'm sure that'll fix everything
  18. Interesting - when I was looking around at boost controllers I found the Blitz Dual SBC seemed to be the overall best respected by people I trusted. With my playing around with cars so far I by far like "decent" aftermarket ECU in-built boost control setups... ie, the G4 Link boost control has been brilliant for me and I'd assume the Haltech would be no worse. Why not use that?
  19. ^ that was cool, but what was more impressive about the turbo is that it was hitting 20psi by around 4200rpm, and also that they did a GTR a couple of weeks earlier that made 605awkw with a PT6466! Very very cool turbo.
  20. I find it disappointing/annoying - but it probably isn't really a problem.
  21. Don't drip stuff which is not relevant to this thread into it - this is about FP HTA turbos, not Hypergear, and not anyone copying or trying to compete with HTA. A relevant comparison (whether the HTA or the competitor outperforms doesn't matter - just something informative) would be good, be very interesting to get a Hypergear vs HTA comparison on the same dyno and setup for example... but otherwise, its just spam. Get in touch with FP, or GTPumps - Josh.... pretty sure GTPumps do hybrids using HTA compressors, so maybe able to help.
  22. Here's a fun little clip (if anyone is familiar with the old High Octane DVDs the sensor of humour and style will be familiar - this is a little tongue in cheek) with an EFR7670 showing it's worth on an E85 fuelled EJ STi WRX: ("700hp" is actually ~450kw @ 4 hubs):
  23. In other news - FP have released a Super 99 HTA turbo, a 103lb/min T3 flanged (hopefully they release other flange versions - but still) turbo capable of >1000hp. MENTAL! http://store.forcedperformance.net/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=FP&Product_Code=NTFPSUPER99&Category_Code=Turbo-FP
