  3. Turns out it was just a flat car battery. Had to use a shit load of force to get the barrel to unlock. It felt like it was going to break the door. Very strange . But all resolved. Thanks guys.
  4. Tried the WD40 in the barrel with no luck. I have had this car for a while, so this is completely out of the ordinary. Will try the battery tomorrow. Any ideas of how to get the bonnet up without getting access to the car?
  5. New car battery. I was thinking that it could of been my central locking remote, but that still makes the car beep. Thanks for the quick replies guys and yeah it is my car. Any one else have any idea
  6. Hey guys I have had my r34 sitting for about a week due to not driving it any more. First time taking it for a drive and I cannot get into the car with either the central locking or the key itself. Just can't get more then half way with the key on both doors. Worked fine a week ago with central locking. But now with that I only get one beep and that's to arm the alarm. No two beeps for unlocking. I don't hear any locking mechanisms going at all Boot lock turns and works. Also I have had a new battery fitted recently.

  9. Had a hour away from the missus today so decided to do try out a couple more products. Meguires Trim Restorer and Meguires cloth cleaner. I rate the trim restorer as a 8/10, I will be interested in how long it lasts. Compound is very forgiving, but if you do get it on glass, get that shit off straight away. Do not use armorall for jobs like this, there stuff will eat away at your car and f**k up anything else thats not trim. Used some old PowerPlus Phantom Black paint to get restore some of the heavily faded vents on front bar (need to do a proper spray later on). The Cloth cleaner, did nothing in my oppinion. A stronger cleaning agent is required to get the stains in my seats out. 4/10. Its pre much just like a normal household cleaner.
  10. Thanks for the responses guys. Really glad I got the red, I haven't seen many red ones around Adelaide. Ended up writing a huge wall of text, without even realizing. Cheers
  11. Hello everybody, Have been using this forum for a while now for ideas and guides, so now its time to show off my recent purchase. I purchased my Red 1998 R34 Nissan Skyline about 2 months ago for a smidge under $13000 (private sale). Its to be used as a weekend car, with the odd daily runabout. Looking for suggustions for what it should become and what to do. Anyways purchased it Fairly stock: 130000ks Manuel Some mods: Black 20" Wheels, Decent alpine sound system with blutooth headunit & Sub ($2000+ apparently), exhaust, pod, BOV. Some others. Engine sounds good, gearbox feels solid, and note is thoaty with a nice whoosh. When I purchased this car the previous owner had the car pretty filthy, interior was very below average, engine bay needed a good clean some of the plastics and vinyl (series 1) were getting aged, who ever did the install of the sound system did a poor job with putting everything back together. Suspension does creek a little bit on dryer days. (I do not have any before and after shots of interior) So the first thing I did was take off those giagantic 20s and fit some preowned Genuine 17" BBS RS-GTs in diamond silver ($200-$250 I paid I think). A really well made forged light wheel, some imperfections on them, but not to bad. And I put them on some budget tyres for now. Specs:17x8.5, 5x114.3. They are Bridgestone neutons @ $90 per cornor - I have tried Achillies ATR Sports before aswell, you get what you pay for which is a average tyre, not to bad in the wet, louder then most tyres. I would agree that I like the pattern of the Achillies better. These tyres are not for serious driving. Going from 20s to 17s was a no brainer, the ride quality is so much better. I would not reccomend anyone who owns a skyline to go above 17s if your using it day to day. Next thing I did was give the interior a good solid clean, car came with broken things, the person who fitted the headunit couldnt shape the plastic surround to fit the unit. so I fixed all these, fixed up a few loose bits here and there. I still however need to some back to this because my doors do have some rattles. I decided to take off my center console plastics and paint them using VHT Black Vinyl Dye, to try a different product. Used metho to strip it clean, used sandpaper to get it smooth. The VHT Black Vinyl Dye worked well on some of the smaller plastics, however it was difficult to get a nice coat on the larger guage pod cover and gear surround. I would not reccomend this product, use a more thicker compound to paint it such as a matt black PowerPlus paint. One plus side for the dye it did give a nice feel on the plastics compared to the usual spray paint, but I still need to redo my guage pod and gear surround when I get the chance next, as that I ran out of daylight and just did one quick sanding and spray just for a temporary fix. I also need to paint my door trims around the switchs because the plastic is just worn to hell, I will fix door rattles then to). Next thing I did was use a can of WD40 ($9) to clean the engine bay. Extreamly happy with the results, I didnt even wipe anything, if I did it would be even better. Hoses are darker, everything looks shiny, colors are deeper. A great way to do a quick clean under the bonnet without getting ur hands dirty, perfect for preparing your car for selling. Used meguires plastix ($15) to clean fogg off headlight lenses and interior plastics (speedo surround/guage plastics) Very large differance, however with the headlights there is oxidisation inside the headlight which it could not get. Use Meguires natural shine protectant ($15) for interior plastics and vinal, gives a non-shiny look and feel. More OEM look. Used T-CUT Red detailer ($60), with meguries clay bar ($15). Made the car a shinyer/smoother, but the car sees a lot of weather so next time I will take it to a detailer and get a opticoat put on to provide better protection. I would rate the T-Cut as good, but not great. I personally wouldnt reccomend it. And now I am where I am today, getting it serviced tomorrow by A.S.A.P in Lonsdale (highly reccomend, good service, nice bloke). So I will find out what hidden things is wrong with it tomorrow. After that let the mods begin, I want this car to be a quick, fast but comfortable sports car. Any suggestions or idea I would love to hear them. Thanks for reading, expect updates in the future about what products and mods I do. Latest photos were taken when it was dirty and rainy, will take better photos when its worth washing it.
