i know this thread is old but i just thought i would add what i have found with this problem for anyone who does a search on the topic, i had a very similar problem in a rb26 i had the hed presure tested at one shop they said it was fine replaced the block and did a full bottom end rebuild and still had a problem with water oil in the water! i bypassed the oil cooler and still the same. i pulled the head back off and took it to a different place to have pressure tested, now here is the thing? when the head was cold it pressure tested fine however they boiled the head in a oil bath got it upto operating temp and re tested it hot and it showed a leak between cylinders 3 and 4 in between the water gallery and the and the oil gallery that feeds the vavlespring buckets. It was unable to be seen visually. Make sure when you get the head checked you go to a well reputed shop that has the facility to pressure test it hot and cold cheers

DSF i would try a set of AFM and ecu if you can swap them with somone, so you know there good AFM problems usally limit car to 2000rpm or below. Also a backfire can damage the hot wire in the AFM. Is it overfuling whith no load (in neautral), do have black smoke out the exhaust? what rpm can you get when free reving? are you still getting boost in neautral when the engine is cold? cheers

got a phone call from this guy today as i like many others were very interested in a 20k+ package for 3k. he said he would post but wanted the money up front first. i called CRD to verify the engine build and owner name and car rego, they have never heard of him or the car that he said had just been dyno tuned! dodgy good luck to who ever buys this but the story he gave me always changed when i spoke to him proceed with caution!!! those pictures just confirmed my suspicion notice too he has only been a member since the 13th with 1 post. food for thought boys
