  1. It's all to do with winding back surely. Nothing to do with the cars themselves and how they've been driven. Just it might seem a bit more plausible that a GTR has been a weekend car, so they'll wind 'em back to 80,000 odd and hope to get a pretty penny from some poor sod. It's not as believable that someone has kept their GTT in the shed as a weekend car - especially when quite a few are autos on Carsales too. (I'd keep an Auto GTT in my garage for weekends tho... Still a very fun car)
  2. Oh great thanks. Mustn't have made the list on the site yet eh. :-)
  3. Hello, just wondering about Club Reg in Victoria - as R32's will now start to be eligible - 2014 minus 1989 is 25 years right? I assume Club Reg is heaps cheaper. There doesn't seem to be an official Skyline Club on the VicRoads site - but there was a Japanese Car Club and a Nissan one too. Anyone a member of them? Any good? Will there be a Skyline one soon now that all Skylines will start to be eligible for Club reg over the next few years? I suppose you have to weigh up the cost of Club Membership with the rego savings... Dunno if insurance would also be cheaper too tho...
  4. I'm not a gamer and have not played anything at all since GT2, but someone gave me a PS3 so I got GT6. First thing I did was buy a Skyline and bau bau, so disappointed with the sound. Anyhoo, once I got over that, everything else is pretty good. Although it certainly hasn't blown my mind in terms of improvement over GT2. Without any free cars it kinda restricts you to just modifying the hell out of whatever you got - in my case a Swift Sport then a new STI WRX have blitzed everything - even the Veryon ha ha. Now, one thing I wanted to ask was, how does one do a timed quarter mile in GT6? I used to find GT2 quite useful for getting a rough idea of what ET something would run with a few mods, can't seem to find that function in GT6.
  5. Faaaar out that is very interesting! Thanks heaps for the info. It wouldn't surprise me if the car they're advertising has done more km's as the stock steering wheel is decidedly tatty - a dead giveaway on R32's I reckon. Thus far all the sub 100km examples I've seen have had a steering wheel that looked pretty mint. A 12 month warranty and completely stock state of tune does have it's appeal though - although the warranty may not cover 'wear and tear' and pretty much everything else, and the car could have been returned to stock from being previously modified... I think I might stick with the 8-9k examples I've been looking at - then leave a bit of budget for fixing it up... Thanks again mate, great info.
  6. Keeping tabs on 32 GTST's on Carsales and there's this one dealer who seems to import bone stock one owner R32 GTS T's from Japan with low KM's... They are asking a pretty penny for 'em but for they are the exact thing I'm after, just the extra stretch means I don't have all the cash right now, just wondering if anyone knows who the dealer is, so I can hit them up when the time comes - I don't want to make an enquiry via Carsales because that costs them a fortune... (am a dealer myself) The latest one they have even has a stock airbox - I actually don't think I even knew what the stock airbox looked like on an R32 until now... Did anyone on here buy the last black one they had? Had a few minor mods but still looked remarkably original and mint.... Some people would baulk at paying over $13k for a R32 GTS T, but if you're old like me and more want the car as a 'Classic', then it actually makes more sense to pay more up front for something like this, rather than trying to convert a modified machine back closer to original condition... Plus they are providing a full history, RWC and a 12 month warranty - on a twenty year old car - that's pretty impressive. Here's the link to carsales if anyone is interested in checking out a GTS T 'as Nissan intended it to be...' :-) http://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/details/Nissan-Skyline-1992/AGC-AD-14991522/?Cr=1&sdmvc=1
  7. Thanks mate. Yeah it is rough GTR money they're asking... Crazy town. Welcome aboard the SAU forums... Like your taste of motor - I definitely rate any rb over the sr's Good luck with your car hunt. Ps: wouldn't pay 14k for an r32 GTS-t... Another 5k and you'll get the r32 gtr
  8. Hello I am a new bloke, am about 35 years of age, sell Suzuki (cars) for a living in Brighton. I get a work car (Swift Sport usually) so want something old and cool to look at in the shed and take for a run to the hills every now and then. I have done a bit of drag racing in V8's in the past and I had a lot of fun, so might consider that too. I am pretty keen on getting an R32 GTS T of all things - I realise this is near the bottom rung of Skyline ownership but as a pure driving experence I prefer lightweight, rear drive cars... Plus I like the look of 'em. Plus I reckon the RB20det is one of the best sounding engines ever. I was looking at S15's for a while there but in the end I decided the SR sounds about a tenth as good as an RB and that was important, plus I reckon I can get a decent 32 for a bit less cash and leave some aside for fixing it up. I had a silver 4 door manual r32 GTS T Type M when I were a young 18 year old back in NZ and ultimately that would be what I'd have again, but I'm not too fussed. I like the stock rims more than any others I've seen, and I don't like any body kit aside from the little boot spoiler. Not even the Type M side pods - although they apparently disguise rust quite well. :-) I prefer to keep the mods to just breathing, cooling and a bit of tuning, I find anything more tends to turn into a bit of a money pit. Am also a fan of cars lowered slightly on stock rims, dunno why. Probably because the car's designers knew what would suit the car best I guess. I do concede plenty of stock rims are rubbish tho. Once thing I've noticed looking at Skylines is that auto cars are heaps cheaper than manuals, and they often seem to be a bit less messed with and thrashed, so I might consider an auto if it was otherwise pretty mint. I quite like auto turbo 6's (ie XR6 Turbo's) It's fun when they kick down, plus they're better for drag racing. I also get a sore left knee too which sucks with heavy clutches and whatnot. (The Swift has the lightest clutch ever) I can always convert it to manual down the track can't I... There is a very nice R32 GTS T on Carsales at the moment that a Dealer wants about $14k for - ha ha ha. Yes it is nice and stuff but geez, that is quite a lot. Maybe they're anticipating it'll be a future classic?
