  1. I have seen external wastegates, mounted onto the top of the standard rb25det exhaust manifold, but is there room to mount one underneath? Here is a photo, with one mounted on top, but I would like to know if it can be mounted upside down underneath instead? Thanks.
  2. dont get ure hopes up buddy i gave mine away, they are like scrap metal, almost gotta pay somebody else to take it off u
  3. Thinking about upgrading from the stock RB25 turbo. HKS's new GT lineup has the 2530KAI and the GT-RS. GT-RS rated at 400ps GT2530KAI rated at 364ps Obviously the GT2530KAI is a lot diferent to the old GT2530 which was rated at only 320ps, 364ps is higher than even the 2540 which is 350ps. Was wondering if anyone had tried the new GT2530KAI and had any feedback on it? GT-RS is ~$250 more than the GT2530KAI, but i am assuming it's response wouldn't be as good. Looking at this page on the HKS website, HERE it seems that the GT2530KAI is marketed as more of a responsive turbo with lower peak hp, but looking at the charts, it seems they both hit full boost and peak power at similar RPM's, the only real difference being the GT-RS has a higher peak power output.
  4. Don't want to hijack the thread, but it seems there is a lot of interest in a GT-RS group buy to suit RB25's. Someone wanna try organise it? I suck at things like that.
  5. I've got an R33 which has done almost 100,000km and summer here in Perth is usually 35deg days, sometimes over 40. I know factory oil specs are 7.5w30, but is it wiser to use a thicker oil during our hot summer to reduce oil breakdown? I've heard that you should use oil close to factory spec, because of bearing cleanances, but then i also read that you should use thicker oil in hotter climates, which is true? Car's mods are just exhaust, and fmic. Don't want to spend $100+ on an ester based synthetic though. Not so much after brand recommendations, more a viscosity range, and whether a 50 weight oil is too thick? Have been considering the following synthetics: Motul 8100 X-Cess 5w40 Mobil 5w50 What can you recommend, from your experience and knowledge? cheers
  6. edited STFU I thought SAU was for sharing common knowledge for the benefit of other Skyline enthusiasts? guess i was wrong, its for bragging and promoting our own businesses, well looks like it backfired.
  7. I'd like to hear that from magic1 himself. I agree with you, and that's sad because it's only this particular tuner. We here in W.A. look at this the same way as you easterners and think what a dickhead. This thread is all promotional shit, generating interest in the wolf, simple. More like Perth vs. SST, and Australia vs. SST please do not associate Perth with SST, it's a beautiful place with many people who are generous and honest
  8. Interesting thread to say the least... Firstly congrats to magic1, you have yourself a solid power figure there, that is a fact. It's obvious steve-sst is shit stirring, but sydneykid isn't stupid enough take the bait, i don't see him posting any crap. It's evident that steve-sst likes to use customer cars to promote his shop and the wolf; eg, nd4spd, gotboost, gtstvspec, rob77(until things went bad) it's funny how when things go bad its kept quiet, or always blamed on a mechanical failure, not tuning. what about the many other customer rb25dets that have melted? magic1's car is just being used to put sst in the spotlight, i bet this thread was created without even consulting him. These type of 'workshop promo cars' are usually tuned with 500% more care than your average customer car, because it represents the workshop to an extent. At the end of the day this thread was made to create interest for sst workshop, getting your attention with such a high power figure, using only stock injectors. steve-sst had this well thought out, and knew that it would create a big debate, if he kept his little trick a secret. As Jay95 has said, isn't this forum to share knowledge of Skylines? If this thread is just to promote the workshop it should simply be closed because this is poor. There can be no other reason to post this power figure, and then keep this technique a secret, other than to expose this workshop and the ecu. I personally don't care how they did it, im not even chasing that sort of power. Threads like these do not benefit your average user at all, they simply confuse them. If it was as simple as, "use a fuel pressure regulator with your stock injectors and your fuel system will support 511rwhp, like mine did!" thread, then that would be informative, but as far as i can see, this is pointless.
  9. So don't need the slide-tool for this method? I have a V9 (SCPH-50002) console, will the hd loader etc work with mine?
  10. Thanks for your help so far guys... So generally crank and cam seals don't need to be changed at 100k km? is it easy to inspect them? Also how many kms do the oil pumps last? When are they usually due for replacement? I'm not sure how old my brake/powersteering/clutch fluids are either, i think they just keep getting topped up. How often is it best to empty them and replace with new fluids? Thanks again
  11. Yes i really hope there are R32 and R33 GTS-t, GTS25t like in GT2... its always great fun modding and racing the same car you really drive. Even R31 Skyline and A31 Cefiro would be cool. GT2 had the best range of cars, thats where GT3 lacked.
  12. Ok my Skyline needs its timimg belt change because its starting to show some wear, but its not slack or anything. I have performed a thorough search, but it seems that some people only get their timing belt replaced, and nothing else, and then other people get many parts replaced, I would like to service it properly and have every part changed that needs to be. What else should i also replace at the same time? This will basically be the 100k km service, but performed early to be safe. I have heard that it is often wise to change other parts such as the water pump at the same time. Should the following also be replaced?: Idler Bearing Tensioner Bearing Crank & Cam seals Water Pump Thermostat What water pump should I replace the stock one with, and who sells them? Also is there any specific timing belt I should request or any generic ones are ok? What does it roughly cost to replace those 2 bearings, and crank & cam seals? I don't know what they are worth, or how difficult it is to replace them either. Thanks!
  13. Hey haven't got email replies from Greenline for a few days anyone else experiencing this or know if they're having probs?
  14. 25GTT even that deep, they are cold, black and shrivelled
