  1. Glad to see you're back into it! You probably wouldn't know what to do with yourself if you didn't have a skyline in the driveway haha
  2. My exams finish November 10, I'm going straight away to buy an xbox one and need for speed, absolutely can't wait.
  3. Haha yeah in game purchases are scary... I believe that the Skyline I had and Evo I currently own are clean and tastefully, lightly modified... but watch me go crazy speed hunter/stancefag style in the game. Should see the Evo i have in Need for Speed underground 2... I even have 'sponsor' stickers all over it to hit 10 stars. Anyone that plays the game and doesn't get into this sort of thing is just in denial
  4. Guys! Check out Justin Fox's facebook page, this might actually exceed our expectations!! Justin (from Zen Garage) plus a few other prominent figures in the global mod culture (Speedhunters too, plus a few Jap guys - can't remember by heart and can't access FB at work) have all been brought to Sweden to consult for EA/GHOST. There are photos of hyper-realistic Rocket Bunnu 180sx, Liberty Walk 86, Hako Skyline, GFB(?) Porsche and a Mustang with neons haha. Also, it won't have the moniker "Underground 3" but will simply be called "Need For Speed". Release date Fall 2015 (American fall i guess) on PC, PS4 and Xbone. Check out Justin's page!
  5. Yeah, I'm super surprised that they do not have a policy allowing vehicle owners to purchase back their vehicles - this is Just Car after all, they insure modified cars, not average corollas/commodores. As for legal advice, not worth it unfortunately. I'll call the auctions, maybe I can sort something out. The police haven't emailed me photos yet either, which is annoying!
  6. Awesome thread, I absolutely believe that motor vehicles encapsulate all that is brilliant about the human spirit - the engineering, the style, the passion. However, it's depressing to see the older posts talking about open roads in good condition and with little traffic and hassle from the police, when these days speed limits have been dropped to artificially low levels and police and cameras have a stronger presence than ever. It's only going to get worse, unfortunately. My 2 cents to add about the roads - Putty Road is great if you like open road and cruising - frankly i got bored and found it a waste of fuel (except for one tiny section with the bends). Used to live right on Bells Line of Road, the Bellbird Hill section is GREAT but really short, and there is traffic nearly around the clock, especially weekends. Old Pac between Hornsby up to Central Coast was the best fun I've had on the road, ever. I was flooring it, but i wasn't going hard in corners and kept it will within my limits. I want to try Royal Nasho, but there has been a heavy police presence as I understand recently. Few absolute n00bs have been driving beyond their limits and crashing too (mostly s-chassis it seems! lol) Would love to hear anyone else chime in with recent road reports
  7. Online only would completely deter me I can deal with in-game purchases (sigh) Physics will be similar i imagine to recent releases, id rather they stick to arcade rather than simulation games (i.e. I don't want to worry about cold tyres) I like open world Storyline needs to be subtle, can be cliche', but EA should understand that it's all about: MODS! Especially visual/exterior... don't tell me that's so 2001, because shut up i want mods. Wide body, big wangs, custom trunk, all that. Super important: car list. This needs to include cars like INTEGRA, CIVIC, CELICA, Skyline WRX Evo Supra, cars that you actually see on the roads! Aspirational vehicles that can be owned, not the type of aspirational like Bugatti and P1. The novelty of driving around in an only-3-ever-made Koeninnsegg or a sparkly looking 1943 Cobra runs off very quickly. Also; Needs to be street racing - no tracks. Im a filthy casual, i dont want to practice lap times and braking markers, i want to rip the handbrake on my R34 GTR in two tone Pearl with a decal of a hot Asian chick mid corner and drift that shit. Anyone that is into practicing racing lines and braking zones on real-world simulated tracks already has Gran Turismo, Forza and a wheel and cockpit set-up. EA can't compete with this (there are already other competitors popping up, like project cars) But seriously, if i can get an arcade customisable street racing game, I would instantly drop $90 on that - I'm sure enough people would too (the old nostalgics and the current young uns too). That said, has anyone got an opinion on street racing: evolution? It seems to be similar to a mechanic simulator, but with driving?
  8. Hi guys, rumour mill is spinning up, EA have an announcement for a new Need For Speed game tomorrow May 21 and there have been some strong indicators that it will be another Underground title! I wonder if the scene will see a resurgence?
  9. The policeman dropped into my work today as he asked for the keys i had for it - was a nice guy, said they found the car at a property that had many other stolen cars (mostly skylines and evos). I believe charges have been pressed, so that makes me happy. Unfortunately, he said that my car was looking a little rough, had probably been his drive-about for a while and had lots of scratches, bits of interior removed etc. The biggest bummer however was that Just Car Insurance (which paid me out for the vehicle not long after the theft) were extremely unhelpful when asked about buying the vehicle back off them - the lady at Bella Vista said something along the lines of "it's not your car anymore so we just accept what the auction house offers" which is frustrating as I was hoping to collect the salvage myself. I understand that other insurance providers allow the policy owner to have 'first offer' for the vehicle. Ah well.
  10. Thanks, will do. I've been happily driving my Evo for a while now... getting the call from the constable, I feel that I've been happily married with kids but suddenly my smoking hot ex has turned up and I'm conflicted! I'm waiting for a call back from the cop shop. What are the chances that they will allow me to inspect the car (I may request to check for personal belongings. Sidequestion - could I take the subwoofer out?) and has anyone purchased their stolen vehicle back off Just Car Insurance? I am unsure if i have first offer. Car is unregisterable though, so if the price is much higher than scrap value it will not be worth the time (dependent on condition!) Fortunately I've never been in this position before
  11. Everything but weathershields still available. Airbox/snorkel/filter price drop to $100
  12. Thought I might post an update - the car has apparently surfaced in Bankstown, been rebirthed, now damaged and in a police lot. Police want a statement from me, if anyone has had to do this before can you please pm me? Car legally belongs to the insurance company
