  1. short shifters generally have a longer throw than a standard item. if the short shift was already in the car check to see if the plate that it was mounted in is removable. have a look at some pics of new short shifter kits and you'll see what I mean.
  2. Was a great day, I was also out on new mitchi pilot sport cups that were brand spankers, I found they really took along time to wear in and understeered off turn one once and was very close twice. but after they wore in and got up to temp they were great, did a 1:08.2 according to my old man with a stop watch next to me on the last session of the day, also running lower pressured helped immensely with grip. looking forward to the next one, hopefully I can get an FRP bonnet before then so I can get more than a few laps in before having to cool down. Thanks for the day guys was great.
  3. Even though you have a jap exaust that is X size, have a good check inside the mufflers/cannon my pipe was 3" but inside the cannon it was more like 2" or even a bit less, huge restriction, i never thought to look in there until it was pointed out to me
  4. Sorry for the late reply, put on an exaust the is 3.5" all the way through, made 414kw atw, 350kw atw @ 5k rpm
  5. Took it to unigroup, still didnt make power after fixing exaust housing issue but found the exaust to be smaller than 3inch in the mufflers, a fair bit smaller, so got a new cat back made by performance exaust in northmead, really happy with workmanship and the service they provided, so is now 3.5 inch all the way through, straight through 3.5 inch mufflers, will be booking it back in with unigroup asap, was told the exaust was dropped at the place i went to before but the turbo issue was still there so now the exaust side of things are all sorted, the car felt better after the turbo was sorted but feels heaps better with this exaust on but its only got a basic tune so i cant stretch its legs will post after i take it back to unigroup

  7. cool thanks ill have to get in contact with a local mob that sell recaro rails to measure distances etc
  8. yup, .94 off the top of my head, still havnt tuned it but it feels better and makes a bit of extra boost than before without touching the boost controller
  9. How about driving around, ie places to avoid?
  10. going to be in newcastle tomorrow night, whats good on a friday night?
  11. Had great fun, had to get the turbo flange machined straight as when the guys changed the angle, too much heat and one corner sagged + the weld on runner #6 was cracked and had to be re welded, real quality bit of gear. But now that its sorted with a new housing and no leaks it feels better, just feels stronger i guess, but ill have to wait a few weeks till i can arange to get it on a dyno for another tune and to see if its not just my head playing tricks on me wanting it to feel better. Fingers crossed
  12. For the life of me i cant find seat rails to suit an r34gtt for a sparco evo2 They are different to the rest of the skylines, any advice guys
  13. havnt fixed it yet, went away for a month so it didnt get worked on and yup i bought one of those in a 0.96ar two weeks ago, took it all apart last week, when the mani got the flange angle changed it must have gotten too much heat into it and caused it to warp, so sending it off tomorrow to get machined flat again, matched the ports to the head so yeh fingers crossed, after that it'll all be going back together and then have the dump redone (new type of v-band flange on the new housing) if it needs it then off to uni group for a tune. will keep this updated when i get some news on it cheers
  14. forgot to add, a standard manual computer comes with it as well as an air flow meter and an old apexi pod. I need this thing gone so make an offer
  15. just checked what my cam timing is at, in 5deg adv ex 2 deg retard mayby i should take this info to uni grp and ask them to play with the cam timing and do a general check of the tune before i get a new manifold?
  16. these guys spent quite a bit of time mucking around with the cam timing aparently, couple more weeks ill have the coin to get a 6boost mani, then ill take it to the guys a uni group see if they can nut it out. will post up once I have some results though, i think it is in the head but it is the mani that is causing back pressure so it cant flow enough gass out, as its making 4kw more on 20psi from 16 psi
  17. ive got an RB25DET NEO out of my r34 that I need to get rid of, this thing is taking up to much room in my garage, its done 78000km, ran very well before it was taken out, its got all the turbo gear, just not the wiring loom or ecu, missing a water fitting as well as knock sensors but you can get them pretty easy. Engine is standard and has not been opened up. Reason for sale is ive finished the engine ive been building on the side and it is now in my car, so this one is on the garage floor wanting a home. Local pickup only (northmead area, Syd), ive got an engine crane to get it on a ute at this end. asking $1750, open to reasonable offers. PM me
  18. hehe sorry for those of us that dont know where nirimba airfield is is there an adress, I typed in nirimba airfield into google maps and its come up with western australia
  19. thanks for the replies guys, havnt messured the pressure across the core yet, I want to try and suss it out a bit before I go out and spend 1k+ on a new manifold, the guy who's tuning it think the manifold and split/non split issue shouldnt affect top end power but would just make it come on later. is it normal for a t04z to make 20psi before 3700rpm in 4th? it will start making boost (1-2psi) at about 1900rpm in 4th, mayby the turbo im using doesnt have run of the mill blades in it so it would come on earlier but make less in the top end, the cam gears are set to 5 deg advance on the intake and 1 deg retard on the exaust, ive read of some people having the cam gear set up completely different but have been assured by the tuner they are in the best possible position.
  20. dont think 1mm would make much difference, but with the greddy ones you have to use the nissan oem gasket that has the washers in the gasket
  21. yeh im leaning towards the mani being the issue, I do love the 6 boost ones, but I have a few things to check first before I fork out the dough, will keep the post updated if (should say when) i make any progress
  22. sorry forgot that one too, tomei valve springs, the exaust manifold didnt line up on a few of the ports by 2-3mm. checking boost from inlet manifold so yeh its getting the boost.
  23. messured? boost pressure or flow across the cooler? I looked the cooler up on hdi's website and they say its good for 900+ hp, Its new and there arent any leaks. spent the better part of a day fiddling with the cam gears on the dyno, got good midrange but just cant get past 315. I just remembered when putting the exaust manifold on it didnt line up perfectly with the exaust ports (used indian ink to check), its not a cheapy though, is a stainless one off the shelf from gcg. I dont know if that would cause this to happen though I just remembered, I have a split pulse exaust housing and a non split pulse manifold. (I know got a bit excited when I started this build 2+years ago and went out and bought a manifold and stuff before id come to the point of needing it)
